About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Trip7630200 contributionsDay well spentA nice way to see a few highlights of the island. Enjoyed the mangrove and the lunch was pretty good. Had a little difficulty hearing the tour guide through the speakers sometimes in the van.Written 9 March 2025
- JodiN920 contributionsNot what we were looking forI had asked to go to a series of places but we drove around the island for hours. We did go to those places but didn’t have enough time at each due to the long drive.Written 27 February 2025
- Curious7885460 contributionsGood tour company but disappointing reef conditionsFor us the best parts of this trip were the friendly and skillful staff, the beautiful setting and the obvious commitment to the natural environment. Paddling through the mangroves was magical. Snorkeling was a little rough and might be intimidating for someone inexperienced. We saw a variety of colorful fish along the reef and some sea fans but the reef itself was dead. We were hoping that it might still be alive in some places but not that we saw. So, the snorkeling was disappointing due to the conditions, not the tour operator.Written 18 February 2025
- 351shelliet0 contributionsLocal and love it...We had an incredible time on the tour with Terry! He was an outstanding guide, offering insightful and engaging facts about Antigua throughout the journey. We especially loved how the tour highlighted the local culture and flair, giving me a deeper understanding of the area. Terry's knowledge and passion made the experience truly memorable. Beach stops were amazing and just what was needed. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Antigua with a local touch!Written 2 January 2025
- clarewI6107IX0 contributionsA really great way to see some of Antigua.Brilliant from start to finish. Thierry drove us around the island, pointing out historical sites and telling us about the villages around the island. The drive through the tropical forest was spectacular. Kevon, our kayak guide, was a lot of fun and pointed out lots of the wildlife we would have missed. This has been the best day of our trip. Thank you SoCoHo. We are already planning our return trip!Written 24 December 2024
- F4176RBwendym0 contributionsFantastic Trip Around Antigua! We had a wonderful time. Our driver was fantastic. We weren't really into the beach so he took us to different spots instead. We learned so much about Antigua and can't say enough good about this trip. Stopped at a local spot for lunch and it was delicious. We really were immersed in to the life of Antigua!Written 18 August 2024
- H6791BAtracyb0 contributionsFull day outReally good day, lots of facts shared as well as lots of laughter with out guide Raymond, we would recommendWritten 12 November 2023
- Elsooner0 contributionsGreat views and learning experiences! The trip was super fun start to finish. Our transportation driver, “Flavor” made the bumpy trip over the roads fun and educational as we drove to Devils Bridge, Betty’s Hope sugar mill and other interesting sites. Plenty of time for pics at both the above locations. The mangrove kayak was again, educational and fun. We learned many things about the natural habitat for the area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun as well. James was the captain and guide for the boat trip to Cades Reef. Snorkeling was awesome as we saw many many colorful fish including a school of barracuda, a couple of sea turtle and even a nurse shark swam by but I didn’t get to catch a glimpse of that one. James will lead your snorkel trip and point out various animals that would be easy to miss otherwise. The lunch was a hearty Chicken, rice, plantain and vegetables. Great trip and great guides!Written 5 September 2023
- brendaaZ9007WW0 contributionsJeep tour of AntiguaWe asked our hotel front desk for a driver to give us a driving tour of Antigua. She arranged for Sherman (Flava) to be our tour guide. He picked us up in his jeep snd off we went. We saw many beautiful views and beaches. He also pointed out plants and fruits. We went to a donkey sanctuary, Devils Beach, and a former sugar mill plantation with windmills. He also took us to a restaurant for lunch so we could experience the local flavor. Our tour was a great overview of Antigua.Written 11 June 2023
- spotmonk3y0 contributionsPersonal Island TripPersonal Island Trip to see the sights - a bit of an expensive taxi and you have to pay for entry to all the sights but the vehicle is comfortable and the guide is Antiguan and knowledgeable for a bespoke itinerary but a lot of driving between stopsWritten 4 June 2023
- davidjE1658CG0 contributionsSoCoHo Antigua tourSatchel was our tour guide and he started the day with a couple of light hearted games to break the ice, from then onwards the conversation was free flowing and at times we overloaded him with questions but he was always courteous and tried to answer them all. The tour was very interesting and informative and we were taken to all of the places on our itinerary and more, and even though we were out of time he still carried on until we had seen everything. Picking this type of tour was perfect for the 4 of us and much better than being stuck on a minibus so if anyone is reading this and thinking of booking with SoCoHo please don't hesitate to do so. Thank you Satchel for a fabulous experience, we all enjoyed it very much.Written 30 May 2023

From start to finish we had a great time. We were in Antigua for 1 day as cruise passengers. We booked the trip on our own instead of through the cruise ship , as we feel it is a better value that way. Our driver Andrew picked us up at the cruise terminal and even though we were his only 2 passengers, provided us with a great tour of the island on the way to the kayaking location. Instead of a rehearsed monologue about the island he let us ask him anything we wanted about Antigua and he answered it. He provided us a plate of fresh black pineapple so we could sample the Antiguan delight during our ride.
Once we arrived at the kayaking facility Kevon, our guide provided us the equipment and instructions while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. We merged with a few small groups and our tour group was approximately 10-12 people which allowed for personal interactions with the tour guide and a pleasant socializing experience.
We were launched in 2 person kayaks and navigated through the mangroves to the beach area. At the beach area our snorkel boat arrived and we were introduced to our boat Captain Jensen. Jensen was very knowledgeable, funny and made sure we all were safe on our short boat ride to the reef.
We arrived to the reef and we snorkeled along the reef with Kevon pointing out fish and things of interest to see and Captain Jensen keeping a watchful eye on the group along with Kevon to assure our safety. The snorkel time was just right to enjoy the excursion and the small group size kept us from having to wait too long for entering the water and returning to the boat. They provided us with some very tasty Rum punch on our return to the kayaks.
After kayaking back through the mangroves to the start point we were allowed to use outdoor shower, restrooms and then back to our open air transportation to return to the port. Our driver Andrew gave us a few snacks and took us to a beautiful beach area and gave us a lot of time to get in the water and enjoy the tranquil waters before returning us to our cruise terminal with plenty of time to spare before embarkation.
We have done many excursions over the years from multiple cruises and international travel and this was one of the best excursions we have experienced, due to the group size, employees knowledge, personality and not feeling nickel and dimed. There was no photographer following us around pressuring us to buy pictures, we took our own pics or asked staff to take a pic of us. No one was pressuring us to tip them, but of course we did tip due to the great experience they provided.
We highly recommend this excursion if you are a cruise passenger with a day in Antigua. We will definitely book with SoCoHo again next time we are in Antigua.

SNORKELING
Snorkeling was an unforgettable experience! The water was crystal clear, and the marine life was incredible — coral reefs and colorful fish.
1. Swande Thomas was our guide and Alex our boat driver. Both enjoyed talking and sharing about Antigua, and were knowledgeable and snorkeling, making it easy to feel safe and relaxed.
2. The water was fairly peaceful and it was cool to explore such natural beauty up close.
3. Knowledge of snorkeling is required prior to visiting. Water is approximately 8-10 feet, so there is no practicing once out of the boat.
KAYAKING
Kayaking through the mangroves were cool and relaxing.
1. Stirring the kayak was easy, and Swande explained it well.
2. Mangroves provided a lot of shade from the sun.
IMPROVEMENT
Communication prior to the visit could have been better.
A must-try for anyone who loves adventure.

Fantastic experience 1st timers, newbies .
Had an amazing multi -experience 🥰 from start to finish, was having doubts because of the negative reviews.
Solo couple on private trip !
However, we were really pleased we ignored those & went & checked it out for our selfs!
Alexis, picked us up on time from our hotel , Hammock Cove & was really friendly from the start to the finish , he drove us through the south coast Horizon’s .
Nothing was to much, he provided us with lovely music there and back with safe driving! Thank you Alexis your smile is infectious. Great guy 😉
On arrival, we washed our hands & had to sign some paperwork with a lovely lady & our trip was on!
We waited on a few other guests arriving from other locations & was then off to a beautiful experience!
Sativa, was very knowledgeable!
He Waited for the others then started us of with a short briefing & then was given a run down on the mangroves & then on to the Kayaks .
What wonderful fun although I was very nervous as it was my fist time! He had us rest assured all would be fantastic! It was!
Sativa was brilliant from start to finish, very informative & really looked out for us telling all about the nature & underwater wildlife.
We went through a lovely lagoon until we reached a private beach called Cades Reef where one could snorkel or chill on the beach , the choice was yours no pressure.
There were enough tour staff to take care of you & make you feel safe !
Although I didn’t snorkel, my fiancé did with others for quite some time , the views were exceptional & James the captain 👩🏼✈️ really new his stuff thank you James .
My fiancé, said he had a brilliant time seeing some many things below the water ..it’s a must see !
There was surprisingly a light snack which I wasn’t expecting! Another nice touch .
We were provided with lots of water, & my favourite RUM punch !
Thank you

We had a wonderful time on this tour and it was possibly the highlight of our trip.
Candier from South Coast Horizons was extremely helpful when we wanted to switch to the half day tour and when we wanted to add lunch on.
We were picked up in the jeep which was an experience in itself (thank you to the driver who stopped to retrieve my hat when it flew off my head) and took us on roads we hadn't been able to experience in the taxis, including to the rainforest and Fig Tree Drive. He was also very accommodating on the return trip when we asked to stop to buy black pineapple (high recommended- very delicious).
The kayaking part of the tour is short but a very different experience to anything else we had on the island. We saw lots of fiddler crabs on the way down.
We then took a trip out with a guide (I believe named James) to the reef. We were on our own as there were no others doing the snorkeling part of the tour and he was very helpful and accommodating to our requests. We saw lots of beautiful fish.
The second guide (I'm very sorry if you are reading this- I didn't catch your name) took us on a short hike up to a view point where you could look out on the reef. He showed us the fruit that grew on the cacti and made a special effort to go and find us some. He was very easy to talk to and made the experience really enjoyable.
Lunch was delicious (chicken and rice and salad).

Excellent way to spend the morning. The staff and guides were all fantastic. The kayaks were in good order and paddling gently through the mangroves was beautiful. Great snorkeling out on the reef too with plenty of fish and some turtles too. Great food to finish off with plus a cheeky rum punch. Perfect!!

The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and gave confidence. The equipment was all in very good condition. Most of all it was a fun experience where we got to see some really interesting things. A little disappointingly the kayaking was not very long (but for my wife this was a positive). Andrew who drove us in his jeep made the drive as interesting as possible (the jeep was very old and not the most comfy vehicle), Kevon was a great kayaking and snorkelling lead and Jenson who drove (don’t think that’s the right term - piloted maybe) the boat was excellent too.

Had a lovely time with the SoCoHo team on 14th March. My husband and I were picked up from our hotel in a safari type jeep and taken to their base, where we were welcomed and given fins and snorkels to use for that part of the day. The day started with a short kayak through the Mangrove to the open sea. Depending on how many are in your group will probably affect how long this last for. We landed our kayaks on a small beach and then went on a boat from there to do the snorkelling. This was a great session. The guide was fantastic and took the time to check everyone was ok throughout the time in the water and he pointed out various ocean beauties whilst we were snorkelling. After snorkelling we had a bite to eat and a short walk before kayaking back to base again. I would definitely recommend this half day.

From start to finish this was a great trip starting with Andrew (no 2) picking us up at the Royalton in the open jeep and taking us to the other side of the island with a great reminder of the history of the island. Arrived at the small resort for briefing by Andrew (No 1 according to him) and Captain Alex.
Great kayaking experience but just a tad short of what I was hoping and then boat out to the reef for a full hour of snorkeling and then lunch on the beach .
Made better by having a small group of 11 and so relaxed and chilled. Would recommend this trip to any family.
The trip back by jeep with Andrew No 2 covered the remains part of the island through the rain forest.
Just brilliant and thanks to Andrew, Andrew and Akex

They should reduce the price or improve the offering. Other tours we had on the island was cheaper and more enjoyable. Food is barely eatable. Drinks was barely offered and not because they did not have enough. Nobody wanted to go hiking with sandy slippers after snorkelling. Drive from the resort to the location did not feel safe and was not comfortable. Service was ok. Staff was not very engaging or interesting. If this trip was half price I would give another star, but as it stands I would not book it if I knew how boring and not interesting this experience would be. I would be very surprised if anybody in our group would say that it was better than ok.

Excellent experience, much recommended! The SoHoCo team picks you up from your hotel (and returns you back to it); everyone is friendly and explains a lot of interesting facts. The experience itself is awesome - first you kayak through a mangrove forest and then they take you snorkelling over a massive coral reef. Also, their rum punch is awesome! Shout out to Andrew for the great time!
