        The best day
Brilliant day. Gentle and relaxed but we had several stops, some for info only, some for a swim, some for snorkeling and also Hell's gate. Really nice fruit juices. Good food for lunch too. Lovely banana bread and rum punch too. Friendly crew who clearly love their jobs. We snorkelled with turtles and eagle rays in their natural environment. The only downside is there were a few pickups so some time was spent on that

Lovely day out with great crew. Really friendly, nothing too much trouble. They knew the history, the conservation facts. They also made sure everyone was safe at all times.

Lovely day, lovely tour. Thanks to the knowledgeable Captain and Crew for a great day out. We snorkeled several times, hiked on an island with a cave and natural bridge, and saw and learned about sea turtles. Thanks guys!

        Not as Described
This tour was disappointing and not worth the time or money. It was not what I expected after reading the information on Tripadvisor and their website and viewing their video. As a biologist, I was excited about seeing birds, doing a nature hike, and snorkeling. This isn't the tour I got. To begin with, we left late. There were other people from my cruise ship, and we had three different arrival times on our confirmations. I waited for about a half hour. One couple had been waiting for an hour. Supposedly, the boat is rated for 49 people. They keep the maximum to 31. I don't know how many people there were, but it was crowded (not the way it looks in their video). There had been two pickups before us, and there wasn't much space left when the boat finally got to us. Stop at Bird Island, see birds? Nope. We did not go to Bird Island and there was no alternate birdwatching stop. I emailed before I booked to specifically ask if they typically see a lot of birds, as I was deciding whether I should take my good camera on a trip that would involve being wet (yes, everyone gets splashed). I was told yes, we see lots of birds. But on this day, they didn't even try to see birds. We did not visit a turtle conservation project, although we did get an explanation about sea turtles, but that was just a lecture delivered while we sat on the boat.   There was no nature walk, certainly NOT what I saw on their video. A climb on a barren rocky island with a natural arch (Hell Gate) does not count as a "nature walk." They combined one snorkel stop with the Hell Gate walk, so you could not do both. They said the second stop would be better snorkeling, so I decided to skip this and relax on the boat. Most people saw nothing in the water and gave up. One couple (experienced snorkelers) stayed in the water for nearly the full 30 minutes and said they saw 3 fish. Crew from the boat accompanied the climb over the arch, but nobody watched the people swimming and snorkeling. Nobody asked if anyone was a beginner. Nobody offered any instruction. NOT safe practices. The lunch stop was at a small island. We were told we could wade ashore (it wasn't deep water and just a short wade to the beach) but not to go inland, as it's a private island and we could get in trouble with the owner. That's where we had lunch on the boat. It was okay--chicken, pasta salad. The plantains were delicious. After lunch we went to the second snorkel site. This was a reef. We were warned about fire coral and a strong current. That was all the safety information we were given. Again, no question about anyone needing assistance. They put a group of people in the water with someone from the boat, no attempt to divide us by ability/experience. Then a second group, at least I thought we were a group. Nobody stayed together, and I have no idea if anyone from the boat was with us. Fortunately, I'm an experienced snorkeler (with my own gear) and a strong swimmer, so I just swam along the side of the reef. The water wasn't deep enough over the reef to safely swim across the top. I didn't see many fish, but I kept going. At one point, one of the crew zipped by. I tried to keep up, but he was fast, and I wanted to take time to look for fish. After a while, I was tired of murky water and few fish, and I looked up to see where I was compared to the other snorkelers and the boat. I was way far along the reef and there was nobody nearby and NOBODY on the ship watching the snorkelers. I took advantage of the current and got myself back to the boat quickly. The "eco" parts of the tours were the turtle lecture, which was accurate, and an explanation of the importance of mangroves. But we didn't get close enough to the shoreline (not at all like the photo/video on the website) for people to really see the mangrove roots and understand the importance of them. And for an "eco" tour, I was disappointed that there was no mention of reef-safe sunscreen. People sprayed and slathered on all sorts of brands, some of which I recognized as not being "reef friendly."

Some strong points, some areas for improvement
Strong points: fun day on the water, excellent lunch and drinks included, Hell's Gate Island hike was the highlight, and seeing 2 dolphins close to the boat; good value for money. Areas for improvement: Location for snorkelling (near Long Bay) was not very good; it was too open with very strong currents. We've lived in Antigua for over 2 years and enjoyed better snorkelling at many other places. If snorkelling is important, choose a tour to Cades Reef. Also, a suggestion for improvement: Antigua's greatest Eco-success is the ongoing biodiversity renewal project on Antigua's third island: Redonda. I would suggest the team include a 3 or 4 minute explanation of the project and its success story as part of this eco-tour.

        A great tour!
The guides were the best kind: helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Some great sites on the tour. Get ready for a little spray on the boat ride, but who doesn’t like getting wet during a vacation in the Caribbean!

        Take this tour!!!!!
We did the Eco Tour and it was fantastic!!! Adino, Arion and Shakimba were our crew and they went above and beyond in every way possible. The boat was a 52" Jet boat so could get closer to the shore for pickup drop off than those with outboards could. It was super comfortable. We went snorkeling twice which was awesome. Some hiked others just relaxed onboard. Drinks were provided as was an excellent lunch onboard. The captain, Adino I believe but if I'm wrong forgive me!) was excellent. He explained all about the biology of the various species of seas turtles found around Antigua. We visited several nice beach areas and reefs. This is one a the best tours I have taken. The group was great the weather excellent. 5 stars is not enough!!!!

        Great tour and great crew!
We had a great day visiting all the points of interest - Hell's Gate, the different islands, and the mangrove area. It was raining when we walked to the beach pick-up point and the weather looked ominous, but once we got on board, the rain stopped, the sun came out and we had was a fabulous time. The crew were professional, friendly and helpful, and our lunch on board was really good. The water where you could snorkel was rather choppy, but those who went enjoyed it. We'd recommend this tour.

Fun way to spend the day in Antigua
This was a great tour but not for the faint of heart or those with mobility challenges. I would also not recommend if you are prone to sea sickness. We walked off the cruise ship down the boardwalk about 5-10 minutes to the meeting point. On board the boat they have you take off your shoes and stow your bags in the hold. They have snorkel equipment and life jackets and water socks but no towels so bring a few. It is also good to bring a quick-dry shirt or possibly a windbreaker. The climb up and down Hells Gate was challenging but short. You may also want to pack bandaids and neosporin since the rocks are very sharp. The guides were fantastic helping us navigate the cave and climbs safely. Hells gate and the boat ride there in choppy seas with lots of spray were both very exciting. Other than that, it was very mellow. We stopped by the mangroves only 5-10 minutes. Then we had lunch/optional shallow snorkel in a secluded cove for an hour. After that there was another chance to snorkel by a reef. We saw several sea turtles from the boat. They saw fish and rays while snorkeling. On the way back they serve rum punch and dessert. They did use reusable plates and forks, but hopefully in future will use reusable cups as well and recycle the cans and bottles. Crew did a great job. Sit on the seats that face backward or the central island seats if you don’t want to get wet. Snorkeling is optional.

Highly recommended and must do experience!
Great time! Well organized with very good and caring guides. Amazing powerboat ride to laviscount island where we spent time with tortoises, birds and saw some iguanas. Also had a nice catered meal. Then a trip and hike to hells gate where the guides even helped those who don’t know how to swim (like myself!) to get to the island. Lastly time spent snorkeling or chilling on the boat while we had catered banana bread and rum punch. Relaxing, beautiful views and just a great day spent in Antigua. Would recommend to everyone!

So much fun we did it twice!
We chartered with Antigua Adventures for a full day tour. The office staff (Brichelle and Nell) were excellent- super pleasant to deal with, responsive and informative and clear in their communication about the details. Our boat was called Seduction. And we liked it so much we did it twice! The boat was spotless and perfect for our family of 4 (two teen boys) but could have easily fit more. We went out on a Monday and liked it so much we asked if we could also go back out on Wednesday and by chance the boat and the crew were available. We can’t say enough good things about our captain, David and his first mate, Dino. They were professional, kind, funny and flexible and willing to make suggestions of activities or spots they thought we’d like. We fished, swam, snorkeled, lunched, chilled out with music and also visited Laviscount Island- which was worth it and fun. As I said, we enjoyed our time with them so much we went out with them twice. We’ve chartered all over the Caribbean and our experience with Antigua Adventures was definitely one of the best we’ve ever had. When we eventually make our way back to Antigua a trip (or two)with these folks will absolutely be on our itinerary. Thanks for the amazing two days!

        Beautiful day on the water
We enjoyed this trip very much! Able to see a lot of Antigua shoreline, learn a bit of history and do some snorkeling in addition to learning about the ongoing efforts to protecting turtle population. The staff was knowledgable, safety councils and a lot of fun

Cancelled with less than 24 hours notice!
Had the tour booked for 22nd December, having booked on the 20th of December. Having arranged my schedule around this my only excursion it was cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. An alternative day of the 24th December was suggested and I asked whether the scheduled return was the same as the original tour as I am leaving the country the same evening. I was bluntly told no without and further details of what the schedule might be. At this point I summised that they didn't want my custom and left it at that. The issue was stated to be an engine problem with the boat although the booking agent Viator seemed to suggest that it was cancelled due to the minimum of passengers not being met. Thoroughly disappointed in the whole episode which was supposed be one of the highlights of my stay. Only positive note was that once requested Viator quickly processed my refund.

Initially, we had booked for a Thursday, however, inclement weather caused the captain to cancel the excursion due to safety concerns. We were told the next day was fully booked, but the Adventure Antigua office was able to move around bookings to secure us a spot the next day.

David, our captain was very knowledgeable and led an excellent safety demonstration prior to heading into open waters.

The tour lasted most of the day and the crew hands Mark and “Kiwi” gave excellent information about different location as we travelled around the island.

Stingray City was great and the staff there was also friendly and knowledgeable and gave wonderful instruction on how to safely handle the rays.

Before heading to the rougher waters of the Atlantic, David made sure everyone in the front of the boat understood the conditions and were physically able to handle them. He also had some passengers swap seats who were uncomfortable with the front of the boat.

The waters were a bit rough as there was a storm the day before, but he was a great pilot and we never felt unsafe.

Lunch consisted of BBQ chicken, pasta, salad and banana, all great as well.

The team did not allow us to snorkel outside of the bay as the waters were a bit rough, but snorkeling in English Harbour had its merits and we even saw a shipwreck and a sea turtle.

We ended the excursion on a private beach where we enjoyed a rum punch and banana bread before heading in for the day.

Overall it was an excellent tour. The team was knowledgeable and kept our safety at the forefront of the experience. The food and drink were wonderful and I would highly recommend to any adventurous people who would like to see all of Antiguas coast while they visit.

We absolutely recommend anyone who is fit enough to do this (see below). The communication beforehand was flawless and we rate this as one of the best experiences during our holiday.
Desmond, Ariel, and Mark picked us up at the cruise dock and were great hosts. Ariel (who suits her 'Little Mermaid' name) taught me how to snorkel when we were at Stingray City and pointed out the sights as we sped across the ocean. When in the Atlantic, the waves were rolling and big - but we felt very safe; the Caribbean Sea is a lot calmer. Lunch on the beach was chicken, pasta and salad - simple, tasty food, simply served and everyone enjoyed it. At Nelson's dockyard, Desmond gave us the history then there was more snorkelling in much deeper water (life belts provided if you wanted them). People saw turtles, different rays and lots of fish. Towards the end of the day, there's a stop at a lovely beach for rum punches! We were back at our ship, buzzing with the excitement of the day by 3.30.
      Tips/information:
You need to be able to swim reasonably well and be fit enough to get on the boat using the ladder. We are in our mid/late 60's and managed.
Take towels, sun-cream and if you want to wear a hat, have one that can stay on in the strong wind.
Have sunglasses - if not for the sun, they will protect your eyes from the wind when the boat is going fast.
No one felt remotely sea sick - seems that doesn't happen much in this type of boat. The least bouncy part of the boat is at the back.
Your bags are in the bow of the boat for the majority of the time. I kept my phone but wish I'd had a strap on it that went around my neck (no risk of losing it into the ocean) and had the pouch that allowed me to take photos in the water.
The beach where you have lunch has rough grass above the water line so if the tides in, you put your towels on it. Beach shoes may be an advantage and also make sure to pick any prickles off the towels before you leave. There is no shade on the beach so again, come prepared with the right hats, etc.
Snorkels and flippers are provided but you can bring your own.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Desmond, Ariel and Mark for making the trip so special. It's so clear they love their island and enjoy sharing it.

This was a great tour! We really loved it…especially our great crew: Captain Desmond and crew Leslie and Kimba. Desmond handles that boat with remarkable skill and the crew works really hard to make the guests comfortable and to have fun. It can be really hard to hear what they are saying over the noise of the boat engines and hull on the water. Some kind of sound system would be a great improvement. I highly recommend this adventure.

Two things to be aware of: There is a very slippery metal ladder to get in and out of the boat and the seats are only thinly padded. Spending an entire day on them gets really uncomfortable.

The boat itself is a bit cramped especially for a trip this long. Your knees will be well acquainted with the person in front of you’s derrière; and vice versa. There is limited shade on the boat you will need to compete for, but I noticed that the captain and crew were shaded at all times. The trip to stingray city is well worth it and along the way some celebrity homes are pointed out. The English harbor and its history is interesting and lunch was good, although with no place to sit and once again no respite from the sun. Most of the other places pointed out were resorts. By the time we reached our last stop which was a private beach, everyone stayed in the water to try to remain cool. If you could forego seeing the entire island, seems like this trip could leave earlier, see the lifestyles of the rich and famous, go to stingray city, float the harbor and then have you back to your hotel by lunch; and at half the price of course; this would be a 5 star trip

This is a fifty mile trip right around the island of Antigua with TWO snorkeling sessions, TWO beach stops, a guided tour of a Georgian period naval dockyard, lunch ON A BEACH, rum punch at the end of the fifty mile adventure and all packed into one day where caring crew guide throughout. We custom built our boat and "roof" to make sure that we had more shade proportionally than any other vessel here. That ridiculous complaint about the shade that the captain and crew had still has me confused. A boat tour was clearly not for you and if anyone is reading this, please read through other reviews and go to our Adventure Antigua website to look at the boat and read the description. There's about 1000 contrary reviews to your own and happily we've never seen a review like yours in the 19 years we've been running the Xtreme Circumnavigation tour. With the kindest advice to you possible, I think next time I think you're better off in an air condioned taxi.

      The trip was amazing
Boat picked us up near our resort and we went all the way around the island with the captain and crew, pointing out interesting pieces of information and knowledge
We were able to see turtles in their habitat, and then we visited stingray city where we swam and snorkeled with the stingrays
Stingray city was one of the most amazing experiences my wife and I have ever had

After that, we went to Glen Island for lunch, which was a wonderful homemade style meal that thecrew served to us and we also got to snorkel

After lunch, it was a continuation of the boat ride around the south side of the island where we saw different features, and the houses of famous people and then finally the pillars of Hercules
We took a small tour around English harbor while the crew pointed out some of the historical structures
When we got back to the mouth of the harbor, we were able to snorkel some more

After that, we went to rendezvous Beach in the rain and jumped in the water and did some more swimming swimming and snorkeling, and the crew finally pulled out the rum punch which everyone enjoyed

We finally had to get back into the boat for the trip back to our resorts

The entire day was amazing and part of the fun was the captain and the crew are genuinely fun people and it’s also nice to see that they enjoy each other’s company so much

Anyone thinking of doing this should definitely do it because everything was as advertised and more and it was just a great way to spend the day

We left our hotel unsure as to whether this would even take place. It rained for the 55 minute drive to Dickinsons Beach for our pick up but the vessel soon appeared with people already on board and a few more intrepid adventurers ready to join them.

The seas were choppy but were expertly negotiated by Gill and his able assistant. Luckily, the rain eventually stopped and the sun did make an appearance. The planned stops were a welcome relief from the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea as weee some of the “slow downs” while Gill and Rashim provided “tour guide” updates to some of the locations as we proceeded around the island.

Stingray City was a worthwhile visit and Gill’s knowledge on English Harbour was really good; snorkelling around Hercules Pillars at the entrance was also a good break seeing some of the fish.

Green island allowed a lunch stop - in all honesty, the best lunch we’ve had on any trip it’s provided - definitely compliments to the chef!!!

Rendezvous beach was stunning - very different to those easily accessible. Once rum punch was consumed, back to Dickinsons for drop off.

Definitely a worthwhile excursion which the weather added to the name.!!! Be interesting to do on calmer seas to see the difference.

We booked the 360 Navigation tour with Adventure Antigua while we were there on vacation and they did not disappoint. We originally were looking for the standard catamaran cruise/snorkeling/lunch/island tour but we couldn’t find one that included sting ray city so we picked this because it did. We weren't sure how were were going to feel about being on a speed boat instead of a catamaran. The boat has lots of seating there were 14 of us plus the 3 crew members. It’s big and super fast and a lot of fun. I recommend sitting in the very back. The seats are a bit higher and roomy and great view and breeze. I usually get motion sickness but because of the speed it was not as bad. Shout out to the captain David and his team Mark and Ariel. David and his team were super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour! They also provided a delicious lunch on a small beach prior to snorkeling and touring the harbor with the areas history. Sting ray city was so cool and we learned a lot. The sting rays will not hurt you but it takes a minute to get your bearings in the water with shuffling your feet especially if you’re short like me. The people that run it are so passionate about the sting rays and their safety and yours. They have their favorites and the sting rays come right up to them for snuggles. Shorty was my personal favorite. We didn’t feed them but also felt that holding, touching, and swimming with them was plenty. They take your picture and you can buy them (by email) afterwards. Was a great picture for our collection!
This boat excursion was my favorite part of the entire trip and I think I will always look to book this kind of tour over catamaran now. Not to mention their shirt logo is the coolest one yet and shirts are for sale as well!

This was one of the best things my husband and I did on our vacation! The team was most professional, and they adhered to the strictest safety standards. They communicated transparently about what they did and why when it came to rescheduling our tour due to the ripple effects of Hurricane Beryl. Once we rescheduled, from start to finish, our tour was fantastic.

Captain David, Kashimba, and Kiwayne were the most friendly, good vibes, safety conscious crew. Captain David inspired in complete trust in me, even though I tend to get seasick (Dramamine beforehand seriously helped!) He told us what to expect with sea conditions so we were prepared for choppy moments as well as smooth sailing. He shared a wealth of historical content and interesting trivia and kept us laughing with his wit and humor. Kashimba and Kiwayne (please forgive the spelling!) helped us feel comfortable getting on and off the vessel, engaging with the marine life, and with handling the effects of the wild rollercoaster ride and sea spray that happened that day.

I highly recommend this tour! The food exceeded my expectations, the rum punch was delectable, and the crew was certainly competent and great company. Add to that the amazing weather we had and the stunning beauty of Antigua, and it was an overall exceptional experience!

My husband and I had an amazing time on this powerboat ride around the coastline of Antigua!
Our hosts, Captain David, Tyrese and Kimba(aka Bugs Bunny) were excellent! They took the time to explain all the places we were passing by and stopping at, and were so incredibly friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and made sure everybody was having a great time and that they made it on and off the boat safely! Sting Ray City was a neat experience of snorkeling with sting rays and fish in their natural environment (no cages)! You can hold a sting ray and get a photo if you wish. The lunch on the beach was absolutely delicious as was the rum punch! The scenery on the ride and at the stops was just breath taking! It was an awesome day! I highly recommend this tour!

If you are looking for "the" excursion to go on, this is the one! It's an all day trip, and each stop is more beautiful than the last. But what really made the trip were the tour guides. When we woke up the morning of this excursion, it was pouring rain. We were told ahead of time this trip rarely cancelled, so we were glad that we would still get to go, despite the rain. Even though everyone was literally soaked before the boat even left, spirits were high (after all, we were going to be wet most of the day whether we were in the boat or out of it) and the 3 guys running the tour were so helpful, positive, and fun! I wish I could remember their names. Maybe Kimber, Desmond? It's a speedboat that goes around the entire island, and it was awesome to see all the beautiful sights of Antigua, narrated by the tour guides. Our first stop was Stingray City, where miraculously the rain stopped and the sun came out for the rest of the day. This was awesome to snorkel and take pictures and swim with the stingrays. The park rangers gave a thorough safety talk, and I never felt scared at all. Next up was a private beach to eat lunch and snorkel. It was breathtaking, and lunch was simple but delicious. Barbeque chicken thighs and legs, parmesan and butter pasta, fried plantains, and banana bread. And really strong rum punch at the end of the day! After that we continued to tour and went to the Pillars of Hercules and motored around Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbor, with an awesome talk about the history of the area. Then on to the second private beach, more snorkeling and beautiful views. Finally, a beautiful long speedboat ride back to our starting point. We loved that it was a fast boat and not a slow catamaran. We were a party of 8, mom/dad and 6 young adults ranging from 19-22 years old. Every single one of us had no complaints and loved everything.

But, apart from a wonderful day with the awesome tour guides, once I got home I had to contact them because we thought there was an error with our bill. I ended up talking to the owner of the company, who was incredibly gracious and had his booking manager get back to me immediately and answered all my questions and helped me figure out the problem. Which was us, by the way, not their error!! They were gracious, courteous, and respectful from beginning to end. Be sure to give them a tip at the end. They work hard, and tourism is their bread and butter. Book it as soon as you get to your hotel b/c it goes fast, it's pretty popular.
