I just cant believe there was some much more historically to know about the city of St John's that I didn't already know. Now let's talk about the food stops. These were awesome. Every meal was delicious complete with background information on the eatery. This was well worth it and I highly recommend the Eat and lime tour.Written 8 October 2019

We are a group of 4 friends, and we had a fantastic tour with Tracey-Anne. If you want a tour that takes you away from Heritage Quay and the tourist crowds, and introduces you to truly local cafes, this is definitely for you. We visited places we would never have ventured to on our own. Tracey-Anne was lovely, she really took care of us, and ensured there were suitable alternatives for our pescatarian friend at stops where the rest of us ate meat. She also explained a bit more about the history of the areas we were walking through, and told us about other dishes that we hope to try in the future. We loved mixing our cocktails at the beautiful rum bar, and particularly enjoyed the shrimp fritters, the rotis and the spinach snacks. We also enjoyed sitting in the shade at the cafe under the trees after our tour had finished. The tour illustrated the food influences from other Caribbean islands. DO NOT eat breakfast before you come on this tour. We found we were able to bring a few leftovers away with us to snack on later, and would advise that you do this! I felt it was a good introduction to St Johns as well as a culinary experience and would definitely recommend this tour.

My wife and I recently joined this tour on a trip to Antigua and had a great experience. The tour was a fantastic way to learn about the island’s culture and sample some tasty food. Tiffany was an amazing host/tour guide. She shared personal experiences, local history, and showcased a variety of small restaurants and food stands that we never would have found on our own.
We enjoyed seven tastings ranging from fish, Jamaican patties, rum punch, Rastafarian fare, smoothies, and more. Portion sizes were VERY generous and if we’d been on the island longer, we would have revisited several of the restaurants.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone who is in search of something a bit off the beaten path or in search of local flavors!

The Eat n Lime Tour offers a delightful gastronomic journey that starts conveniently at the entrance of Heritage Quay, amidst the lively atmosphere of a cruise ship day. Our first stop was Annette's shop, a hidden gem where we savoured a delicious sampler of saltfish, bake, plantain, egg, and avocado.
Next, we ventured to Redcliffe Quay, where we indulged in a mischievous Old Fashioned rum punch and delectable mussels and fungi at Cutie's Restaurant—a spot so inviting we wished we could linger all day.
A short stroll led us to Smoothie Palace, a street vendor offering an array of fresh smoothies. We enjoyed a fruit concoction of papaya, guava and pineapple, while learning about the health benefits of local fruits and herbs, which perfectly cleansed our palates.
Our culinary adventure continued at Roti King, where we filled up on curry roti, followed by a visit to Brownie's Bakery for a beer and bun and cheese in a quaint wooden restaurant caressed by a pleasant tradewind. Again, the ambiance was so welcoming we could have stayed indefinitely.
At Patty Delight, we experienced a unique patty with a twist—ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and tomato encased in flaky pastry. Surprisingly delicious. Our final stop was the Rastafarian Vegan restaurant One Stone Ital Shack, an oasis at the city's peak surrounded by a serene lake, beautiful trees, and flowers.
Our guide, Tracelyn, was a lovely and friendly personality, making us feel like we were strolling around town with an old friend. She knew the best eating spots and shared interesting tidbits about the town and the island's history. The tour lasted exactly three hours, but we could have easily enjoyed an extra hour, especially as our stomachs filled and the effects of the rum and beer set in.
Be sure to come with a hearty appetite for this unforgettable culinary experience!

Highly suggest this food tour!! My husband and I had a great time and we enjoyed every food that was served to us! We definitely would not have even thought of trying any of the restaurants if we had not gone on this tour. Making the traditional rum punch was great and we will for sure be taking that recipe home with us !! We had Tracyann and she was amazing she was so personable and sweet and you could really tell she loves Antigua and everything about it!! 10/10 recommend and will be sure to tell everyone who comes here about it !!

A must if you are visiting St. Johns!
We went on the tour with Lori with 2 other groups of 2 (so 6 people in total)- while Lori said she was still quite new to her job as tour guide/apprentice to Tiffany (owner of the tour company), you wouldn't be able to tell- she led our group like a seasoned professional and was a fantastic guide.
We learned a lot about the local history and culture while enjoying the cuisine. I loved how Lori shared with us the backstories of each stop- many started and owned by female entrepreneurs, too!
I thought the pace of the tour was great as well- eat, walk around/learn, then eat some more. The variety of the foods (from breakfast food, smoothies, fungi, soup and a fabulous roti) was fantastic. Great 3 hour tour!

The tour was well planned and the food was representative of the culture. There was good commentary about Antigua as well.
Our group was 7 persons and we could hear our tour guide and not miss anything.
The food provided a wide cross section of Dishes and the portions were perfect.
The tour was a good length and for the less fit there were lots of rest breaks to sit for a while.

We enjoyed the rotii restaurant and the rum shop was excellent. The gal at the rum shop did an excellent presentation and had great interaction of how to make rum punch. She made the tour a success! Great job!
We thought the first stop with the shrimp thing was not hot enough and we weren’t informed if this was an authentic food of the island. Our tour guide was a nice young man but was a little hard to understand with his accent and soft spoken voice. Walking the streets in downtown st John’s we were hoping for more information about the community and neighborhoods. We have done several food tours in the past in different countries and have appreciated learning more about the culture and information behind the food. Our tour guide did share some information about the restaurants. We thought Brownies was probably authentic but during our visit there was a shouting match right out in front of the place with many profanities which left us with a very uncomfortable feeling.
We did leave the tour with very full stomachs and a variety of foods but we were hoping for more foods like fungi and pepper pot stew which we read were staples of Antiguan people.

This tour is best for someone who wants authentic interactions and food. It would be quite challenging to find these gems on your own. If you believe in supporting local businesses and desire to get an understanding of the Antiguan way of life then this tour is for you. Do not eat prior to this tour as you will be full! Khadijah and Tiffany are true professionals. Khadijah has a wealth of knowledge and was able to provide wonderful insight about Antigua’s history and culture.
Finally, if you have any concerns about Covid, rest assured there are many protocols to keep you safe. Every stop requires you to either wash your hands or sanitize. For the rum punch making class, I had my own table with my own set up. The instructor facilitated the class from the bar (8 ft or more from me).
I don’t normally write reviews, but Eat & Lime is a hidden gem and deserves to be highlighted as a top tour.
(If this helps, I am a Caribbean American from Brooklyn, NY with access to a lot of great Caribbean food and I highly recommend this tour.)

The concept is good in that you do get to go around some local food vendors and have small samples from each one but both the knowledge and delivery was pretty amateurish. We missed the email that asked for our food preferences so they didn't know that one of us doesn't eat meat (our fault) and Khadija did try to provide an alternative at short notice. Kayla who was learning the ropes for the day did a good job of delivering her script, with the highlight of the tour being when she sang a rendition of a Whitney Houston song following the Rum Punch making session (which was good). We cut the tour short at our own request as we had another engagement. So to round it up, a good concept but needs some work on the quality of the information and delivery making it a bit overpriced for what you get.

Our family of four (including two teenagers) really enjoyed the tour! We should have booked this the first day or two of our vacation because our guide provided so much history and cultural background that helped us understand Antiguan life.
The tour was about 3 hours long, with plenty of stops at restaurants so you're not walking the entire time. Tour guide provided bottled water for us and led us to various stops in St. John. Great stories about entrepreneurs who are providing great food and drinks! We really liked the stop where we mixed our our rum punch drinks! You get plenty of food and learn so much about Antigua. Recommend this tour 100%!
