Addie is delightful!
Feb 2020 • Couples
Addie is a lovely young lady with a genuine love for her hometown. The tour was perfect. We got to really experience a bit of the Grenada culture through the food. Our first stop was in the market for a typical Grenadian breakfast, then we got a little history at Ft. George. We also got to visit a chocolate museum, drink fresh fruits smoothies, and fresh coconut water. Our last stop was for a fantastic roti. Not like anything you have ever had. She really did a wonderful job. I highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful Food and Guided Tour
Dec 2019
We took this tour with Selanie, which started with a Grenadian breakfast in the Spice Market in St George, followed by a stop in the Market, some coconut water, some soursop smoothies, a tour of the fort, then delicious roti at a local restaurant. The food was all incredible, and something we may not have tried if we hadn't taken the tour.

Great food and history
Dec 2019
Six of us took the walking tour with our terrific guide, Selanie, where we had a full traditional Grenadian breakfast at the outdoor market. She was very informative about not only what we were eating but also the traditions of the island and other native dishes such as "oil down". Next up was a visit to the spice market to learn about the various spices grown on Grenada. Miss Josephine, age 96, offered us coconut water at her stand. We sampled smoothies such as soursop and mango/passionfruit, and then a delightful climb up through the town to the historic fort. Selanie explained its significance in the context of both the French and British occupation of Grenada as well as the more recent assassination of leader Maurice Bishop. We returned to town for delicious roti at Nutmeg. We all agreed it was a wonderful way to learn and enjoy the food and history of Grenada. Highly recommended, and a shout out to Selanie for her warm and kind welcome!

Informative and tasty!
This was a nice way to learn about the Grenada food scene in a short amount of time. Addie was our guide - she was kind and knowledgeable, and with such a small group (4) we had the time to ask any questions we had. The walk wasn't too difficult, just a little bit of climbing by the fort. We learned not only about food but also quite a bit about local culture and history. Grenada spice has a vividness of flavor that I will surely miss! Keep breakfast light and save your appetite.

Good but expected an a recipe or two with Grenadian flair
Oct 2019
Had very good guide 'Addie' but we got saddled with 5 travel agents/critics/reporters??? as part of the tour. Problem was that they really didn't care about the food tour part but were only interested in seeing more of the City to write about. The tour itself was good starting with breakfast then a coconut then a spice vendor then a roti restaurant and then a gelato type sampling and then a chocolate store with a commentary on how it is produced. In between Addie gave a significant amount of history info and we walked up to the Fort site to overlook the bay. Overall a vey good tour that you wouldn't know to do yourself but having this tribe of reporters talking on the phone or amongst themselves was tough on Addie and a major distraction for us. Would recommend to anyone and hope you don't get travel reporters as we did in the group.

Grenada culinary walking tour
Aug 2019 • Family
Just loved this tour from start to finish. Started off with a traditional Granadan Sunday lunch in a little restaurant that I would have totally passed by as a tourist. The spices were so subtle in all of the dishes which Addie described in detail - we will try these at home. Other juices and flavours which we can only find in Grenada we made sure we enjoyed for the rest of our holiday. Plus the sightseeing of the beautiful capital of Grenada and of course the history. One of the things I think we will always talk about is when we knew we were getting a chicken roti which we were looking forward to but we couldn't manage a whole one were very relieved to have it shared between us (which was delicious). We had a vegan with us which Addie made sure was included at all times. Added to this - 2 teenagers who loved it. I think it was our favourite tour and opened up so much of the rest of the island.

Great Experience!
Jul 2019 • Couples
We had SO much fun on this tour. Addie was an outstanding tour guide, walking us all over the city and giving us information on history, food, the market, and Grenada in general. This is a great way to see St. George’s, and a great way to experience local establishments and authentic food. If you like food and exploring a city on foot, this is a must-do. The actual food was delicious and we enjoyed every single stop. Fish, bakes, tea, fresh smoothies, fresh coconut at the market, spices at the market, roti, and a chocolate lesson and tasting— it was all fun and delicious. I’d highly recommend!

Savor the Spice was amazing!
Mar 2019 • Couples
This was truly a great tour. Nezra was so personable and kind. She answered all our questions and gave us a detailed behind-the-scenes tour. We got to sample some really great food and learned about the people and history of the island. We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get away from the cruise sponsored tours. We had plenty of time after the tour for shopping and sightseeing on our own.Thank you Ezra for showing us your island.
