Dunns River Falls tour departing from Montego Bay, plus shopping in Ocho Rios; 9 hours in duration

Climb up one of Jamaica’s most famous natural attractions, Dunn’s River Falls, in a unique fashion—hand-to-hand with members of your group—on this day trip from Montego Bay. Enjoy views over the coast and countryside from the top of the falls, or stay below to swim in natural pools and relax on a beach. An optional shopping add-on in Ocho Rios gives you time to browse souvenirs and locally made goods.

What to Expect

After morning pickup at your Montego Bay hotel, drive about 60 miles (97 kilometers) along Jamaica’s lush north coast, passing historic Falmouth and the spot where Christopher Columbus first landed on the island.

At Dunn’s River Falls, change into non-slip water shoes (available to rent) for the climb up the 600-foot (180-meter) cascades featured in the movies Dr. No and Cocktail. Hold hands with others in your group and follow a guide up natural rocky terraces to reach the top of the falls.

Those who skip the climb can admire the waterfall from from a lower deck, swim in pools at the base, or relax on a beach.

Choose the optional 3-hour Ocho Rios shopping expedition to visit this vibrant north coast port town before the Dunn’s River Falls tour. Enjoy free time to browse stalls selling souvenirs and handmade Jamaican goods and get lunch at a restaurant (own expense).

We did Dunns River Falls with our 2 yr old. We had someone with us who was able to take her out before we reached the top, but our 6 yr old did the entire climb. I think your 5 and 7 yr olds (if they are adventurous) should... More
