Great crew, snorkeling, food, and sailing
Great crew, snorkeling, food, and sailing - - - - - - - - July, 2023 Visit Great crew, snorkeling, food, and sailing - - - - - - - - Longer Review We visited St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) for the first time in 2023, and had a great time, in part thanks to the half day boar tour we took with Blue Water Safari. There are a couple catamarans on St. Kitts and we picked Blue Water Safaris because of recommendations we read, which were accurate. This is a good group with a sturdy vessel, good snorkeling, and good food. We reserved through the website. - - - Port Zante shopping - - - We arrived a little early and shopped in Port Zante, which is where they sail from… there are many shops, most with similar items for sale, and similar pricing, and desire for at least a little haggling on the pricing. We did get long-sleeve sun-protecting shirts, which helped us avoid any sunburn on this trip. We got back to the dock at the same time the other families / groups were arriving. We quickly learned that four families from St. Louis were all on this cruise, and two of us are from the same parish and our daughters played on the same soccer team in grade school… it’s a small world! - - - The half-day cruise on the catamaran - - - We soon walked to the catamaran, left our shoes as we’d be barefoot the entire cruise, and boarded. After the safety overview we were off… nice and calm leaving the port and even in the open water. On this day, we experienced a brief rainstorm, on the way to the snorkeling… which was fine… actually it was best… it’s better to be wet, in a swimsuit, on a boat than in clothes on land… and the rain offered an additional sound as we snorkeled… part fish nibbling on the coral, part us breathing, and part pitter-patter of raindrops landing on the ocean water… nice! We saw: - prisoner fish
 - parrot fish - mostly blue ones, some rainbow
 - blue-headed wrasse (the blue head-lack stripe-white stripe-black-stripe-body fish)
 - at the rusty ship washed up on the rocks there were a LOT of minnows
 - rain fell as we snorkeled, adding a second noise to the crunches of the fish eating on the coral The snorkeling was nice and peaceful and fun. We snorkeled for 45 minutes or so. - - - Lunch - - - Once back on the catamaran, we enjoyed lunch and rum punch. The food was chickpeas + chicken, chips, AWESOME bread pudding, chips & salsa and pita bread… everyone was very pleased with the food. They do offer gluten-free food… just ask when you register. - - - The catamaran as seating under a roof, and also on the cargo net between the twin hulls… both are enjoyable. There is a bathroom on board, too. - - - Captain Ian, Bartender Star, and the rest of the Blue Water Safaris crew - THANK YOU for the wonderful cruise, snorkeling, food, and fun! ----- ----- -----

    First class crew
I will keep this short as so many reviews say the same thing. Brilliant tour but what makes it so enjoyable is the fantastic crew!!! Super attentive - they made sure everyone was ok, always kept an eye out for everyone and always kept an eye for empty glasses. GSOH too. Kept us all entertained from getting on board to getting off. A crew that truly enjoys making sure people are happy!

The deck crew was amazing! They were so hospitable and accommodating. The food was incredible! We loved their fresh assortment of chicken curry, pita, chips, salsa and home made banana bread! Snorkeling by an old ship was pretty rad too!

    Had a blast
The trip started off shaky when the driver did not pick us up from the hotel. We called and they immediately sent someone over to pick us up so we wouldn’t miss our time slot. Then the fun began. The boats were old and hard to shift but once we got going it was so much fun! I was a passenger on the way out and tried to drive on the way back. I gave up driving and let my husband continue. The snorkeling site was ok but as a scuba diver it wasn’t that exciting. However our granddaughter and her friend thoroughly enjoyed it as did her parents. The crew was excellent. Very helpful especially with the young girls (12&13). The cost was a bit pricey but we all enjoyed it and we’d gladly go again. I would recommend this trip for older children and adults provided you so t have back issues as it is an extremely bumpy ride.

    So much fun!!
One of our favorite days during the week long vacation! The crew was excellent, the scenery was amazing, the food was delicious and the drinks were flowing from the open bar. We had fun snorkeling too, but even without the snorkeling it would have been a great day at a decent price.

    Don’t waste your $
Went on the Nevis panoramic tour and beach experience which included lunch and beach chairs and umbrellas. The panoramic tour included Alexander Hamiltons museum which if you wanted to go into was an additional $10 pp (never told to us, was not very big so we did not go in for an additional $40), the salted baths, which was a hot (very hot) spring in a ladies backward (she charged $1 pp for the washcloth she handed you to use to dab yourself with the hot spring water. She then instructed you to pour 4 cups (of tne very hot water) on a family members head to ‘baptize them / wash tne stress off them). She was a lovely woman but the whole experience was odd, and where the Hot Springs were that you would walk through and/or use the watee to dump on your head had a strange odor. The panoramic tour then continued to a cemetery with a lively panoramic view of the island, but again you were standing in a cemetery. Finally the beach where you got your lunch which include four items with three other items you could add on for a fee. However If you did not like any of the choices, they would not let you order off the main menu and pay. Food was barely edible. The grouper was undercooked, and the chicken was rubbery. The 1/4 cup of rice was the best thing to eat there as was the vegetable wrap. Nothing more to say except skip it YET it’s the only food there… We went on a Wednesday when cruise ship was in port (was not aware of that) so hopefully if you go on another day, you could actually use their regular menu and maybe it’s good (fingers crossed). The beach was average and not what I want picture for a beach on Nevis. Tmr beach chairs included were peeling to the point that my son laid on one without a towel, and when he got off the plastic from the chair at stuck to him. My positives are the tour driver and the persons who drove the boat were friendly and helpful. That is the only positive from this experience. Save your money pay to use the ferry $12 one way and save the hundreds of dollars I just blew on this mediocre excision.

Summer Family Trip—Great way to cap the trip off!
We had a great trip, snorkeling was great. The food was pretty amazing as well! I’m glad they warned us to not drink before snorkeling, and the Nevis stop was a great break. Overall we had a great trip, very attentive crew, and a safe time!

Family fun day at the beach
If you are looking for a family fun day at the beach, you should consider taking this excursion. About a half hour boat ride to the beach with lawn chairs and umbrellas all set up. The food was delicious and there is a full bar. We were in the water for a large part of the day (no waves) Bring your own snorkeling equipment. They serve beer, alcohol punch and water on the boat both ways.

Excellent crew and the Captain makes great food!!!!
This was awesome! A call out to Captain Jay Tory and Sylvester who made the trip exceptional. The food (cooked by the captain) was delicious! The snorkeling was good, not a ton to see but my daughter and I got to swim in beautiful waters, eat a great meal, and dance and have fun. The crew made the trip! St. Kitts is a lovely place to go. We were on a cruise and booked this on our own. They made sure we were back in time. Would definitely recommend it. Thanks again to the crew!

    The staff makes this trip
The staff was awesome! They made this excursion memorable and fun. The snorkeling was fun but the boat ride was equally if not more fun . With music and humor, they had the whole boat up and dancing/singing to music. It was obvious they loved their jobs and we were able to relax and take it all in.

    Saul & Snorkel
It was a good short trip. Would prefer more snorkeling time without the floating/relaxing time afterwards. Too many fish, sting rays, turtles, shipwreck, etc. to see so more snorkeling time would be better. Most companies cancelled or had no availability so we were really happy to get to go!

We waited at the dock for over a half hour past our departure time with little to no explanation from staff except “the boat will be here shortly “ . When we arrived at the beach in Nevis we were told to meet the bus outside the restaurant at 1:10. Every one was there except the bus. We walked about 40 yards to where we saw some busses and the man directing them was aware which group we were with and told us we must be wrong because we weren’t due to leave until 1:30. Everyone was fairly steamed at this point and after some protest, he got a bus for us. This company does not know how to speak to customers or each other for that matter. All told we lost 20% of our excursion time and I’m ask g USAA for a partial refund. Stay far away from these folks!

Ok, this was probably our best best memory from our trip to St. Kitts. My wife and I had such a great time on the trip over and we started several conversations with other couples and family's on the trip over. The crew had this big lecture about being late to the meeting spot on the return to St. Kitts, and the point of emphasis was that they would leave us. Yeah Yeah, We kinda shook it off and got a little absorbed in things to do on our Nevis trip. Terri looked up and our boat was leaving. We were finishing our drinks on Nevis and she took off running and tried to wave down the boat. I was still a bit skeptical about the boat actually leaving us. How dare they! When I finished paying the check I looked back and Terri was waving frantically at the boat, which was accelerating towards St. Kitts. I raced to catch up and thankfully the boat slowed down and eventually started reversing back to the beach. Whew! we boarded and there was a lot of finger-pointing going around. Apparently, most of the other passengers were cool with coming back to get us, but one couple (actually the dude in the couple) said "chuck um off the island". So technically we got booted off the island, but to our benefit, the benevolence and kindness of the crew overruled this dude's opinion. I saw this guy several times over the remaining few days of the trip and we got a LOT of laughs out of the event and we ended up having a great time together later. It was s all so much fun, and the crew and management of the Blue Water Safaris was amazing.
If you go to St. Kitts, put this trip on your to-do list. You will not be disappointed.

The trip was well worth the money! There was plenty to do between the catamaran, snorkeling, and visiting Nevis. The crew did a great job of entertaining the group and were a lot of fun. If you're looking for a fun, active experience, I would highly recommend.

This was a great day of sailing, beauty, snorkeling and fun. Our group of 12 people board in St. Kitts, along an amazingly beautiful coastline and stopped in a secluded cove for 2 hours of snorkeling. Amazing, spectacular underwater wildlife, coral, rocks and crystal clear water. Lunch followed our snorkeling and we continued on to Nevis, another beautiful sister island. Beaches and views are wonderful. Total 6 ½ hour trip. Crew was absolutely fun and helpful.

My wife and I really enjoyed this catamaran day trip to Nevis! In fact, it was one of our favorite things we did during our week-long vacation to the islands. The staff was very friendly and attentive to everyone's needs on the trip. There were about 40 people total, but once we set off there was room for people to spread out on the boat. After snorkeling in Shitten Bay, they served us a delicious lunch of chicken, rice and beans, baked macaroni, and salad. Drink service was great as well throughout the day. We would 100% recommend this trip for anyone looking to enjoy a day out on the water and a quick visit to Nevis.

Overall a wonderful experience! The crew was involved and entertaining. The snorkling site was excellent. Shallow waters and plenty of fish! Lunch was delicious and better than expected. Nevis Beach time was fun. My only criticism was the lack of directions given for the snorkleling. The boat stopped at the site and the crew handed everyone fins and masks and said "jump in". I had snorkeled many times before so wasn't concerned but one of my travel mates and several other on board had never snorkled and were like "what?" . One of the young girls on board had an anxiety attack and decided not to go into the water. I think a brief training session might be in order!

Can’t say enough about the crew. They were attentive and helpful. The views and the food were great. The drawback for me was the party atmosphere. I should have expected it, but as a couple in their 70s the music was so very loud. We had an open bar, and while we opted for the beach, most of the people left the boat and went to the bar while we docked. The trip back was full on out of control. More drinking and very inappropriate behavior. We stayed on the front of the ship in the sun just to avoid seeing it. Probably not a far review due to our age, but would never do it again

Great time, but if you are snorkeling you might want to wait until you are done before enjoying the endless rum punch and beer. Lunch was excellent. Be aware that when you get to Nevis you have to pay extra for beach chairs. Great crew, music and all around great time.

When we got to the dock, I was worried about how many people they had, but the boat was plenty big enough. There is shaded areas where you can sit out of the sun and then on the front of the boat you can sit or lie down and get sun. The snorkeling spot was pretty decent. Lunch was very way better than I thought it would be-it included chicken, rice and mac n cheese. The drinks were plentiful between the beer and rum punch. We stopped for almost 2 hours on Nevis. We walked down to Sunshines for a drink and then came back an laid in the water. The boat set up a bar on the beach as well. We rented chairs but not sure why we did as we didnt really ever use them. Overall, it was a good day. If you have a car there is parking for $2 right next to the harbor.

This was a wonderful tour. Our group included 6 adults and 4 kids ages 3 to 9. We all enjoyed it and that says a lot given the age range in our group. The captain and crew were wonderful and so great with the kids! The kids loved the catamaran ride with all of the waves and ocean views. The snorkeling and beach stops broke the trip up wonderfully. We all enjoyed relaxing in the warm waters at the beach on Nevis. We were a little hesitant to do this given the length of the tour and the kids ages, and it worked out so well. All had the best day. I would highly recommend this tour and Blue Water Safaris. We just loved Captain Al and his crew!!
