Overview
See Grand Turk from top to bottom on a fun and informative tour by open-air tram that the whole family can enjoy. As the tram winds its way past churches, museums, a prison and other historical sites, a knowledgeable guide will provide narration and point out local residents like wild horses and donkeys. Stop in Cockburn Town, explore this centuries old Bermudian, colonial style buildings. Try local food and drink and do a bit of shopping, then visit the Grand Turk Lighthouse. Learn all about the island’s once-bustling sea salt industry, witness amazing bird-life, including flamingos, herons, egrets and cranes.
Highlights
  • Guide provides in-depth commentary on Grand Turk's history and culture
  • Cover all the important sites on the island in a single tour
  • Open-air tram that allows passengers to enjoy the weather
  • Food and beverage samples from Cockburn Town vendors
What to Expect
Make your way to Grand Turk's tram station, located near the cruise terminal on the island's southern side. Hop aboard the open-sided tram for an around-the-island tour, traveling all the way to the northern tip and back, over the course of the next several hours. Listen as your guide provides commentary on the sights, including churches, inns, windmills, and antique cannons. You'll get glimpses of donkeys and wild horses on the way to Cockburn Town, where you can explore on your own. Back on the tram, proceed past the National Building and Her Majesty's Prison—great examples of colonial architecture—and then head for the Grand Turk Lighthouse on the island's northern tip. Pass the natural salt ponds, now acting as a nesting ground for the local flamingos, and learn about their importance in Grand Turk's history and economy. Your comprehensive tour ends back at the tram station.

We were really looking forward to a nice trip around the island to see some sites and hear about the island. We had to walk FOREVER to get to the tram, which was an open tram. We were excited about that aspect because that's why you go to an island, to be outside. Once the

We had high hopes for this trip but just about everything went wrong. We had to wait around in the heat for nearly 3/4 hour waiting for the tram to come - despite asking about the delay the only reply we got was a dismissive "no problems, chill, this is island time", Eventually

We appreciate your comments. Unfortunately, the tour you were on was not our best performance. Our tram got a flat tire just before dropping off passengers from the previous tour. We worked as quickly as we could to replace tire. Due to rain at northern point, our P.A equipment shorted out providing only half of our speaker system. We promptly replaced and upgraded the PA system and replaced tire. After 10 of service, we pride ourselves in providing an exceptional experience, are sorry that we did not meet your expectations.

Thanks for you review. Sorry you did not enjoy our tour. For those wanting to tour at their own pace we offer an all day pass for $29. Per person which allows you to hop on/off Trams. Wait time is no more than 45 minutes, still costs less than half the cruise line sponsored tours.
