- Flyer3495344885600Great art, a little exercise and friendly host.Clarence was friendly, professional and made sure we felt self and comfortable on the bikes. Really enjoyed that the tour took us off the beaten track into areas we normally wouldn't have ventured into. Highly recommend.
- C7356EArhondab00Father & Son FunFatbike fun in Puerto Vallarta Great reason to get off the beach and go for a spin. We experienced back roads and alleys, cobblestone massage, crossed a river and suspension bridge in the hills, checked out some Mexican public art ie graffiti and downed some of the best el pastor tacos ever. Thanks Clarence for the great father and son ride
- derekpD8674WV00La Estancia + Nuevo Vallarta to Punta de Mita. What a great experience with Puerto Vallarta Cycling! Despite being booked solid, and a very short notice from me (last minute vacation booking), Clarence was able to tug me on to a couple of rides with cyclists of similar abilities. First ride was to La Estancia - if you want to go the distance and climb, climb, and climb, I highly recommend it. Fantastic! And very little traffic once we left the town. The second ride was from Nuevo Vallarta to Punta de Mita - an easier ride, but also highly enjoyable. If you're feeling strong, Clarence will let you loose on hills so you can challenge yourself while he's staying with the (a bit) slower cyclist. You get picked up from your resort, taken in comfort to the starting point, get fitted to the bike quickly, and are ready for fun! You don't have to worry about anything. Everything you need is provided. You even get a helmet (if you chose not to bring yours on vacation) and two bottles of water (refills along the way). In addition, Clarence is a very nice guy! You don't get the feeling you're riding with someone who is only there because he must. He's a true professional, very well prepared. He brings the tools and spares - no worries. He'll point out all the potholes and hazards on the road. After the ride, he'll feed you some good Mexican food! You let him take care of all the details... You just enjoy.
- B2124KYalicew00Highly recommendThis was a highlight of our trip, we have been to Puerta Vallarta many times. We saw so many different parts and Clarence is a great guide who loves where he lives and what he does and it shows. He gave us some great local tips and restaurant recommendations. He is very open to customizing tours. Highly recommend
- Earthrunner3300Best Road Bike Rentals in Puerto VallartaI was in Puerto Vallarta for vacation and wanted to get in some road riding in the area. Clarence from Puerto Vallarta Cycling gave me some great recommendations where to ride. As part of the rental, he even dropped off the bike to me at the hotel. I did a great ride to El Tuito and back on the Carretera federal 200 hwy. I really enjoyed the riding in the area.
- I7902IOmarks00Experience the real PV in a fun, safe and interactive way. Many times in PV, this was my first tour of the area on a bike. Clarence took my son and I on a personalized tour -- or so he made the experience feel. Everything from the booking & bike set up through to completion was first class. Quality and clean bikes & equipment and a breadth of scenery & terrain all packed in the professional, knowledgeable, friendly and comfortable stewardship of Clarence our guide. My son (17 years old) had a blast and was quick say he wants to do it again "next time". I fully agree. If only I'd known before.
- DARYLHEMENWAY00100% Awesome! This was an incredible ride with a wonderful tour guide. The climb to Estancia was gorgeous and fun (and a little hard). Clarence is a great ride leader and ride companion. He is willing to go at your pace--slower, faster, in the middle, and has a wealth of knowledge about the area. And--post ride tacos? What more can I say. This was my second tour with Clarence, and I can't wait for the third.
- 940lisem00Awesome ride, can't wait to be backCan't wait to come back! Clarence is a strong and supportive rider. Bike was in perfect condition. Roads were safe and route was great. Don't hesitate if you want a road bike ride near PV with everything taken care of for you! Great value.
- granthV1909ZR00PV Cycling is the bestClarence provides superb service! He delivered a high quality Specialized road bike to my door for the week and addressed a maintenance issue within an hour. Great experience with friendly local network of riders to Las Palmas and the bridge at La Estancia. Clarence is friendly and knowledgeable and provides a much needed service in PV. Highly recommended!
- Sandra C00Great enough to have returned each yearI've done several rides with Clarence over the last 4 years. No trip to PV is complete with out least one! His bikes are high quality, and we'll maintained. And it's nice to have a fellow Canadian leading the ride!
- jomckin12300Brilliant experienceGood to be back cycling again in Mexico with Puerto Vallarta cycling! I rode my usual rides with Clarence to San Juan, Punta de Mita and Las Palmas. This year I finally conquered the short climb without stops to Las Palmas! Clarence is very patient, encouraging and laid back. It is an experience rather than just a ride as Clarence takes you to some different cafes for coffee and to have a bite to eat.
- Charles G0048hrs in PVClarence is a gem! He is a very strong rider that can cater to all levels. He will also customize the bike rental to a pro's specs. I had him put on a 30 on the back so I could climb to Carmen's Bakery at the top bridge above Las Palmas. I was only in Mexico for 48 hrs for a wedding but Clarence managed to get me the bike and pick it up when I was done to get the ride in before the wedding!! 5 star service!!
- Trip52542600Great experience!Excellent experience! Clarence is an excellent guide and takes care of everything. I cycled with two friends and we all had a great time.
- Justusalbertans00Always a great experience!I now always try to choose a hotel in Nuevo Vallarta when travelling to Mexico so that I cam bike with Clarence. From him picking me up at my resort, to his good quality bikes, to how safe he keeps us on the roads, he’s by far the best experience I’ve had while cycling on holidays.
- susiek35800Culturally immersiveVery culturally immersive - see and experience things outside of curated tourist destinations. Our guide was super nice

This was our first trip to Mexico and PV. Travelling from the UK we were looking forward to our sunshine holiday but as keen cyclists we researched the possibility of a tour and found Clarence at Puerto Vallarta Cycling. I knew it was low season for cycling due to the heat however I dropped Clarence a line to make an enquiry about a tour. He was quick to respond having considered our preferences and offered advice on a tour which would be suitable for us.
From start to finish Clarence could not be more helpful. Booking communications were simple and he was happy to accommodate us for our pick up time and location etc.
Our tour was 55 miles with around 800m of ascent. Clarence collected us from our hotel and drove us to NV where our ride would begin. My bike was a Specialized with 105 gears and my husbands a Giant also with 105. We brought our own pedals and helmets as instructed but Clarence kindly provided us with an additional water bottle. Setting off couldn’t have been easier! My bike was all set up based upon information provided prior to arrival and it was a perfect fit with not even a slight seat adjustment needed, just brilliant!
Having taken part in many group rides in the UK and Europe I am extremely comfortable riding in busy traffic. However, for those cyclists out there who have reservations about riding safely in Mexico I can only say that the drivers in and around PV were cautious, gave us plenty of room and were incredibly patient when I was slow at climbing the hills! I felt safe at all times, in fact the only thing to startle me was a large iguana running along the road!
The ride was made more enjoyable as Clarence is very knowledgable about the local area and kindly pointed things of interest out during the tour, he also helped to make the ride smooth by giving us plenty of warning about potholes etc! In terms of pace Clarence got this just right! After-all we were on holiday and we wanted a nice social ride in order to enjoy ourselves and take in the experience of riding in Mexico.
We stopped at the town square in Sayulita, such a pretty little town! When riding out we opted for the cobbles which is tricky but good fun!
On our way back to PV the mercury began to rise and at approx 45 miles I began to flag. Clarence was quick to notice and suggested a quick hydration stop to allow me to take a few moments in the shade, this was very much appreciated and needed! After a short stop we continued along the coast road where we got a few photos of the beautiful coastline then rode on to the next town where Clarence suggested a stop for fresh coconut - I have to say this was absolutely amazing! It rehydrated me and provided some great natural sugar to get me home!
All in all this tour was AMAZING and my husband and I throughly enjoyed it. We knew when we booked it was going to be challenge riding in the June heat but Clarence ensured we were well looked after throughout the whole ride!
Highly recommended - thanks Clarence!

Rode with Clarence from Nuevo to Sayulita. It was a great ride, lots of fun! Clarence was knowledgeable about the area and showed us the beauty of the coast. He was always letting us know what was ahead and helped us to navigate according to the road. The bike was in good shape and fit well, and Clarence was prompt and courteous. We stopped in Sayulita for some coffee and had a great lunch afterwards. I didn't want the day to end! I can't wait to get back to Puerto Vallarta to ride again!

I booked the tour to Sayulita with Clarence and it was a lot of fun. The bike was in great working order and Clarence kept us safe out there on the roads. I would recommend PV cycling to cyclists of all abilities; just contact Clarence and Carmen if you need help picking a tour that suits your abilities. My wife and I also did the Fat Bike Marina Tour a few days later with Carmen and it was great ride for novices because it is flat and away from traffic. Plus riding on the beach is a blast and a great workout!

My leader Clarence took me on a 40+ mile ride to Sayulita and back. He was experienced, courteous, careful, prompt, and extremely professional. Safety was always foremost in his mind. He gave me the option of changing the length of the trip to suit my conditioning level and the conditions, and I was grateful for that. I got to see areas I wouldn't have otherwise seen, and I enjoyed the entire experience immensely. It was not the sort of thing I would've been comfortable doing without someone of his knowledge and experience, and I'm very glad I had the opportunity. I'd do it again without a doubt!

Very congenial and friendly guide who lead us on the best route. A bit challenging but during our winter vacation pleasant weather and a nice get away from the busy beaches.
