Me and my mother attended this trip from Riviera Maya, we travelled 2 and a half hours to Cancun to the where we could board the catamaran, as we got to the docks we was told we would not be able to snorkle as the weather wasn't great which was very upsetting but was not given any money as a refund for what we was not able to do, so we was not told about the tax which would come as we got to the boat dock the tax is 120 Mexican pesos which we was not told prier to the trip! As we boarded the boat the staff where great and came round offering drinks at ever given moment and made sure you had a drink in hand at all times! This was superb hospitality! We sailed along to Isla Mujueres and had around an hour to explore the island, we met up again and got back onto the boat we went snorkling and stopped of to see nurse sharks (these sharks are kept in a small "pond" and as far as my knowledge are kept in this small captivity for around 6 months, I do believe this not due to the company but something added on at no extra cost. The snorkling was amazing as we swam along a reef and saw so many fish we had not seen while snorkling before in Mexico! We boarded the boat again and as we travelled back to the main land the boat was hardly moving at all this took at least an hour and a half for us to rock back to shore which was quite ludicrous to say the price of the trip in total we thought they could at least have put is as much fuel to get away from Cancun as they had done to get back to Cancun! There was a photographer on board who would take your photo at ever given opportunity! Given I am a professional photographer the price for these photos where ludicrous to say he had an underwater camera of approx 90 dollars (on Amazon) and the price of print is probably 4p per sheet, the charge for 4 images was around 40 dollars each! (I would take your own camera!) This was quite a rip off! As we was about to disembark the board the host who had being conversing with the passenger the whole time came round with a bucket for tips I thought this was very rude as it was made out to be forced to donate tips which we did not do due to the price of the trip plus the tax we did not know about at the docks in cancun, this was quite unsettling and probably probed a lot of people to fork up their hard earned cash as he would walk around with this bucket and put it under your nose - if tips are going to be received give note to where to donate and let passengers so as they so wish do not rely on the kind hearted and guilted passengers to donate because you have stuck a bucket in their face. Food was included within the cost but also a donation/tip jar was submitted onto each table after that table had finished their food. Expecting tips is honestly very rude as Mexico is already a very expensive holiday destination with holiday goers already working out hard earned cash to fly and pay for hotels as well as paying extra for trips this seamed very rude. We did enjoy our trip but there was many parts we thought was out of order and not knowing the "water" tax at the docks in cancun was expected before boarding the boat was another ludicrous assumption - the tax should be paid by the company who books the trips as this is something tourists should not have to pay as they already have to pay water tax each day just from staying at the hotels!

I had an amazing time on this mini trip to Isla Mujeres! I was in Mexico for the week of my birthday and booked this cruise specifically for my actual birthday; needless to say I had a blast! The food was great, the drinks were AMAZING the tour guides were so fun and the crew was cute ;). The entire trip was fun, and I WILL be doing this again!

This trip was sold to us by Arturo who is hired at Sandos Caracol in Playa del Carmen. He provided us with wrong information, sold us the tour at an adults-only beach as the perfect fit for us as a couple. However, the vast majority were families. Additionally, he told us there would be no more than 25 people, however, there were definitely more than 25!
The time he sold us the trip, he showed us pictures of a boat that was way bigger than the one we would have had. Further, he referred to a cabin on the boat which intended that 1st the boat would provide more privacy and 2nd would be bigger as also shown in the picture.
