Les made the tour fantastic! The food and restaurant choices were outstanding, but the way Les told stories about the history of the city is what made the evening special. Les’ love of the city really shows and he is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour at any time during your visit in SMA.

We visited five different restaurants on our evening food tour, each with its own unique character. The food was delicious at each stop and Chef Leslie took care to explain why each dish was chosen. We opted for the pairing with wine and found the choices superb, enough so to consider a trip to Valle de Guadalupe, the wine's point of origin. If your schedules allow, I would recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your stay in San Miguel de Allende, as additional restaurant recommendations are given. The tour included extensive commentary on history and culture, of both factual and fabulous content, quite enjoyable overall.

My party of 4 decided we would start our trip with a food tour to help familiarize ourself with the area. Best decision we’ve ever made!

We met our guide Vail, at Bacco restaurant for a welcome cocktail, introductions to each other and what to expect over the course of the evening.

We were accommodated at each restaurant for all of our idiosyncrasies in food which made the tour even more special!

Vail shared so many interesting stories with us over the course of the evening about life in SMA from the beginning of how it came to be until what’s it like currently.

The food and drinks were over the top wonderful at every venue. Two particular ones stood out for me. Don Taco (a vegan restaurant) with a fabulous veggie salad and La Azotea with a shrimp taco using jicama as the tortilla.

Thank you Vail for starting off our trip with the perfect evening!

This tour was great! I am on a solo trip and this was a great way to get out and see the city. Seeing so many different restaurant options was nice and all the food we tried was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and honestly I can say that I learned a lot along the way. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to sample some fine dining and learn about San Miguel.

We had a great time with another couple and our guide Oscar. We had great drinks and food. Oscar lived in the United States and speaks better English than me. The good people of San Miguel have suffered because of COVID. They need are bending over backwards to make it a great experience.

We had a lovely tour with Angela on 8 February 2020. We were a group of 7. We visited 5 locations, and the food was delicious at each restaurant. The highlight was the jicama shrimp taco. Angela explained the highlights of San Miguel de Allende while we were walking. There was very little walking, all of the restaurants were quite close to each other. The terrain is a bit uneven due to the cobblestones, like most of the streets in SMA. We purchased the tickets that included two glasses of wine. They were both good. We were told that we could purchase other beverages at the places that did not have wine included but we felt a bit uncomfortable doing so. Angela was very knowledgeable about wine, so it actually would have been nice to have her suggestions for wine/cocktails to pair with the food. It was overall a lovely tour and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Our guide Angela was delightful and knowledgeable about not only the food, but the history of San Miguel as well. She even had one restaurant make us a special prickly pear margarita to try. We sampled a unique dish at each stop, our favorites were the jicama shrimp tacos paired with a tamarind margarita! I try to go on one of these food tours in each city I visit, it's a fabulous way to get to know your way around and sample the local cuisine. Highly recommended!

This five course progressive dinner is exactly as billed. Angela, our guide, made the tour special with her knowledge of San Miguel history and current events, describing the farm-to-table cuisine we enjoyed and her personal charm. We particularly enjoyed the jicama shrimp tacos and poblanos con creama. Three words of advice: eat a light early lunch to leave room for dessert, sign up for the automatic wine pairing and take this tour early in your visit. You will find places de volver.

My husband and I were really impressed by this tour, which ended up being private. The food was incredible ( including the absolute best shrimp taco I've ever had). Our guide Leslie was remarkably knowledgeable about both the local cuisine (he's a former professional pastry chef from Chicago) as well as the history of both San Miguel and Mexico overall. We appreciated the pace of the evening and discovering restaurants we'd likely never have found on our own. We highly recommend this tour and ask for Leslie!
