Sights to behold, and gaze upon in wonder.
Amazing views and Brianne was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable about the area, keeping us entertained along the way with lots of the history of Banff. Our tour included the Gondola experience up the mountain which I would highly recommend to people should they like a view. Plenty of time to take in the scenery and take pictures, a wonderfully leisurely trip that was insightful and helpful to the rest of our stay.

A solo trip to the Banff National Park
This was my first visit to Banff National Park and I barely knew anything about the whereabouts of the hikes and trails. I needed some confidence from a trusted org. This is when I came across the signature hikes of Discover Banff Tours. I booked all 4 of the signature hikes. 1. Larch Valley (Rescheduled to Lake Agnes due to avalanche activity) 2. Stanley Glacier 3. Consolation lakes (Rescheduled to Inkpots due to bear activity) 4. Plain of six glaciers some of the hikes were rescheduled but undoubtedly, Discover Banff has done a great job in placing an alternative for them. I was informed before the reschedules. Besides, the hike guides are amazing with the information about the flora and fauna of the place and give us some good insight about them. I am glad that I took the tours with Discover Banff. I got to meet wonderful people from different corners of the world. Cheers! Subham

Amazing and a must do for a Banff visit!
Drive is about 2+ hours each way. Kyla was our guide. She was a treasure trove of knowledge. We have a bus that takes us so it was a comfortable ride. We stopped at Bow Lake and Crowley Creek (had an early lunch here) on the way to Athabasca Glacier. The exciting part of the glacier is the ride in the ice truck. So exhilarating. You have about 25 minutes on the glacier. Please don't drink the water; people have stepped on it, so it is dirty. You are then taken to the skywalk which is a glass floor walkway. It has amazing sights too. Lots of stories and knowledge gained. Please be mindful that the bus ride back from skywalk is 10 mins or so, but the line to get on the bus is super long and that time needs to be accounted for as well. We barely made it back in time for the bus ride back. On the way back we stopped at Peyto Lake (which was spectacular as well, colors similar to lake moraine).

      Grizzly bear spotted!!
Went on an evening wildlife safari. Jake was our driver & guide. Jake explained that he had to step in as other driver was off sick, he joked about it and was quite a fun character. He told us he was considering alternative routes as on occasions there had been not been much success. Much of the success seems to come from customers being observant and shouting out what they have seen. I thought I might have seen a bear and shouted out as such. Jake stopped and we all looked hard and sure enough it was a grizzly! Jake was happy to stay put whilst we all got photos. Jake did great job, but be prepared that unless you are prepared to look hard for yourself, you might miss out on seeing wildlife. We also saw two or three white tailed deer.

      More like a sightsee tour
Wife, I and friends booked Evening Wildlife Safari Tour. Tour description indicates that they will visit hotspots where one may see rocky mountain creatures. Tour guide Oliver picked us up at train station. He drove along paved roads as noted, but at a speed not conducive to scope out “creatures”. The drive up and down Mt Norquay was a waste, as multiple switchbacks and incline made it difficult to sight any creatures. Throughout 2 hours only front of bus people noted creatures, but rear of bus would need to yell, when we stopped, where is animal, left or right (or what time) and what were we looking for. Tour seemed more like Evening sightseeing tour (stopped coming down Mt Norquay and one other place and drove to and from Fairmont Banff Hotel golf course) As to golf course portion, as we stayed at hotel we were advised that course has barrier around same to protect course fairways and greens from being damaged) Tour guide should have driven slower and advised us what to look for as he drove along the hotspots

Great itinerary and stars aligned on weather and bears
Fantastic itinerary. The Grizzly Reserve was fantastic, in part because we got to see Boo up close for over an hour. Guide had a great personality, but was newer to the job. Not an issue at the Reserve as the naturalists there were excellent. We would have loved a cooler of water on the bus, but not a big deal.

      Average experience. Would not recommend
It was meant to be an Evening Wildlife tour. While we understand that we may not see wildlife and we did see some deer and elk, the driver/guide did not tell us which side of the bus to look when she sighted animals. By the time we realised which side to see, she had moved on. She did not ensure that everyone could see and take pictures. She just assumed and moved off. She did not even consider reversing the bus a little for everyone to glimpse the animal. That was disappointing.

      Unreal views. Unforgettable experience!!
Kevin was a great guide through this. The right mix of safety, adventure and information as we went. He clearly respects and admires the land we are on and it positively influences the experience. Beautiful views! Challenging yet safe experience if you are respectful of the environment. Highly recommend.

      Evening Wildlife Safari
Our guide Kaya was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. After picking us up near our hotel she drove us around the out of Banff looking for the animals. Most were not playing ball, though we did spot a couple of Elks and just as the tour ended a cinnamon bear (a black bear with a brown colouring popped up. We did stop to get a view of Banff and Kaya showed us the difference between Elk & Moose antlers as well as explaining how the company got them. Although there is no guarantee you will see any animals the scenery is lovely and the right guide will make it enjoyable.

Simon picked us up from our hotel and took us on the most beautiful drive ever. The bus is clean and comfortable, the stops to and from the glacier were excellent and beautiful, lunch was good and the glacier was magnificent. Overall a great trip.

We did this tour yesterday with Discover Banff Tours and our tour guide Nicole was fantastic, very informative and friendly.
The tour lasted four hours, however there is quite a lot of travelling so the lake times is limited, particularly as they are so busy this time of year. We did get forty five minutes at both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, which was sufficient time to get some pictures and wander the shores. There are toilets and cafes/restaurants at both lakes and a lovely gift shop at Moraine Lake that is worth checking out.
The tour is good value for money, especially as it is practically impossible to park at Lake Louise this time of year and the road to Moraine Lake is closed for private travel, so tours and Park and Ride is the only way to access it now.

Hello Sarah, Thank you for choosing Discover Banff Tours for your recent trip to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. We're delighted to hear that you had a fantastic tour with Nicole as your guide. We're also pleased that you found the tour to be good value for money, considering the challenges of parking at Lake Louise and the restricted access to Moraine Lake. Our aim is to provide a hassle-free and memorable experience for our guests.

We took the lake Louise and Moraine tour on July 20th. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The bus was clean and the stress of finding parking was gone!
It was a super hot day and the AC on the bus was not working properly so that made the journey very uncomfortable. The sound system on the bus was also very quiet so despite the guides best efforts it was very hard to hear her commentary at the back of the bus.
30 minutes was allocated for each lake and for us that was just not enough for lake Louise. An all day tour to lake Louise would be a wonderful addition to the tours this company offers.

This tour bus enables a day visit during peak season bypassing the long line of cars, many of which were turned away. Sitting for 50 minutes in the parking lot in Banff without air conditioning was both a waste of time and unprofessional. These large vans lack proper cooling systems as none of the windows can open. The driver kept apologizing for the heat but did not seem to understand the basic controls in the van. I almost passed out and several just went to sleep in the hot stuffy van. The limited time we had to self-tour the lakes made arranging other options to get there a better choice.

Hi Ken. We are terribly sorry about the air conditioning. We have since retrained the guide on how to operate it correctly. As to the windows it would be very rare to have a commercial bus for which they could open. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Banff.

Excellent trip. Piper, our driver and guide for this excellent excursion, great value for money tour, was so knowledgeable about the area, the time on the coach admiring the scenery and listening to her commentary just flew by. Plenty of time given to explore at each lake. Helpful where to go tips given on return to Banff.

My father and I embarked on a half-day tour to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine in Banff, Alberta, and we were fortunate enough to have Neil from 'Discover Banff' as our guide. With the day offering breathtaking views and Neil's unparalleled knowledge, our expectations weren’t just met, they were exceeded.

From the start, Neil's warmth, wit, and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a memorable day. As we journeyed through the pristine landscapes of Banff, it became clear that Neil wasn't just any tour guide. His 24-year residence in the area, combined with his degree in History, turned our excursion into a rich tapestry of delightful stories, facts, and anecdotes about Banff and its surroundings.

The beauty of Lake Louise and Lake Moraine is universally acknowledged, but experiencing them through Neil's narratives brought a depth of appreciation I hadn't anticipated. My father and I hung onto every word, soaking in the tales of historic events, early explorers, and the natural evolution of these iconic landmarks.

Especially accommodating to my father's age, the half-day format of the tour was perfect, offering a comprehensive yet comfortable experience. With Neil guiding us, every moment was tailored to ensure our comfort, satisfaction, and enrichment.

In essence, 'Discover Banff' with Neil was more than just a tour; it was an unforgettable journey through time and nature, stitched together by the passionate storytelling of a true local. My father and I will treasure these memories for life. Whether you're a history buff, nature enthusiast, or simply looking to experience Banff's grandeur in a condensed format, I wholeheartedly recommend Neil and 'Discover Banff'. It's a tour not to be missed.

A fantastic experience! We were picked up from outside our hotel and taken on a lovely journey up to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. At first, I was anxious about the 45min journey as I get very travel sick but our wonderful guide, Tyler “Buck”, kept the journey enjoyable with his stories and information. We stopped for just over an hour at the scenic Lake Louise to take pictures, wander along the trails and grab a snack from the Fairmont Hotel. We got a further 45min at Moraine Lake further up the road, which is just as picturesque and beautiful as you hear. Buck was excellent at advising us of the best paths to take, locations of washrooms and any other snippets of information that might’ve been useful. Another enjoyable journey back and dropped back off at our hotel. Honestly one of the most enjoyable activities we did on our trip and couldn’t recommend the tour and Buck more. Thank you!

These lakes are absolutely beautiful and our guide Giselle was knowledgeable and very kind.

30 minutes at each lake is nowhere near enough if you want to get the full experience! With the walking distances it barely provides enough time to take in the beautiful views of these lakes, let alone buy a coffee or go for a walk around the lake. I wish it was increased to 1hr each.

The maple snack was a good reward for a hard day doing nothing at the end though!

Hi Louise. Thanks for the comments. Our tour is structured to be a half day, and as such we we can only spend a certain amount of time at each of the Lakes. I know for certain its easy to spend all day at either of them!

Wonderful tour! We were picked up from our hotel in Banff, which is a major benefit since we didn’t have to worry about Banff traffic and parking. Our tour guide Briana was lovely and very knowledgeable. She gave us a history of the area and pointed out wildlife along the way. The sites were beautiful. You can no longer visit Lake Moraine in your own vehicle. You must book a tour or purchase a Parks Canada shuttle ticket (which is usually sold out). So if you are planning on visiting Lake Moraine (which is must-see) this tour is a great way of doing it.
