- 391annettem00Convenient trip to Greenwich but no commentaryPositives-quick transport to Greenwich with 2 minute walk to Cutty Sark. Sandwiches and some beverages available for purchase. Negatives-smell of exhaust, no commentary that we could hear.
- BeachBumGuy_900Excellent—Great timeExcellent time today! Our guide onboard, Jamie, couldn’t have been better! He was knowledgeable, great information and excellent personality! Great job! Remember folks, gratuity isn’t included in your tour price. Show a little love and be sure to give a tip when warranted!
- christinebH1450YG00Lovely river cruiseWe had a lovely cruise up the river Thames with afternoon tea. All the staff were very attentive and the commentary was interesting.
- wherewegoin00Relaxing cruise down the ThamesThis was a good cruise. We sat on the top floor because it was a clear warm evening. It was fun seeing everything lit up. We were very impressed with the champagne to start, followed up by some tasty and fancy snacks/h'ordeurves. Staff was very friendly. The only thing we did not like was that there was no commentary and we had expected commentary to tell us what we were seeing.
- AmilyT400Great tour!Great experience! Very good option for family with kids, after a long day of walk touring around the city, or even on raining days!. The captain was funny, and all staffs, especially Zahra was awesome! Highly recommend!
- Excursion20006900TOTAL SCAMI reserved a london dinner cruise for 4 people and paid $590 and tried to cancel the day after I reserved and was within the 4 days of free cancellations and was impossible to do that . Showed up to the cruise and it was a crazy sight w over 300 people trying to find their cruise and never find the cruise I signed up for . Tried to call them and don’t have a phone to call. Went online and can’t find any live person to talk to . BBE AWARE . They have a robot answering questions . Going to stop my credit card payment and file a complaint with a lawyer .Total Scam once you pay them .
- Trip12428200Great tour but be weary of purchasing drinks via the QR App!!!Trip itself was really good and the guide was fantastic who made the trip down the Thames enjoyable with his humour and facts about the landmarks. However, future customers please beware when purchasing food and drinks while on the tour. As a family we decided to order some drinks via their QR code which is plastered over the seats. To cut a long story short we unfortunately didn’t receive the items we ordered due to a mix up with bar staff and the fact that they were extremely busy. These things happen and the staff apologised and said they would have to speak to head office to arrange a refund…. Understandable. However, now after around 21 days and being past from pillar to post by the company and multiple emails they are still yet to refund. This is after City Cruises firstly stated technical difficulties and then that they had refunded the monies but there was issues with the bank. I cannot fathom, how difficult a simple refund can be and take so long. Customer services have been atrocious and quite unhelpful.
- carlarU9498MT00City Cruise TourFriendly and accommodating staff! Thank you, Zahra M, for helping me while on the tour and for your incredible customer service!!! This was the perfect activity to do since it was raining, there were plenty of options for drinks and snacks on board :)
- peparker00Great sights but no live commentary.A lovely way to see some London sights BUT very disappointed there was no LIVE commentary AS MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION. Live commentary was a major reason we booked this trip. We travelled from Westminster to Greenwich and had got as far as Tower Bridge by the time we got the correct app downloaded and found the correct commentary. Four of us had to listen to one phone. What would the noise have been like if the boat had been full???? People need to know to download the commentary app beforehand and to bring headphones!
- ladylodger00Not worth the costIt was starting to drizzle rain when we arrived. We asked about the ferry at a neighboring kiosk. It went on nearly the same part of the river and discovered that it was £4 cheaper. However, we decided to go on the cruise since the ticket seller at City Cruises told us there would be a commentary, so we thought we’d learn about the lankmarks along the river. After the trip started, we asked about the commentary and were told there was none because of the rain. Because of the rain, we couldn’t see very well, but there were many tall buildings that stood out. I wonder what they were since no one told us anything!
- Eaton_Out00Enjoyable way to see London from the waterfrontAfter touring Westminster Abby we walked two blocks to the Westminster Pier and took the City Cruise back to the Tower Bridge Pier near our hotel. Much fun and the crew announcer was very informative.
- Flyer5178708608600Nice night on the waterOur dinner river cruise was pleasant. It wasn’t a dynamic night or a bust. The food was nicely presented, (not sure the salmon mousse was universally well received.) The temperature outside was perfect to step outside to catch the sights of London and we returned in just under three hours time, as advertised. Would I recommend this? Sure, if you want a way to see more of the city than you could on a normal night. But once a trip should be enough.
- L5916SRdavidf00All good but not 100%Once on the boat we were treated to a professional crewe with commentary and banter at the same time that makes for good learning for about special sites on the bank side. The only let down is the pier staff and signage with many of us running around to find the correct boarding points.
- AmandaYorkGymanda00AVOID! Long waits and lies.I'm appalled. Purchased a 'hop on / off' ticket as needed to de-stress, being a Londoner. Took the last boat @ 17:50 from Greenwich and was kicked off at Tower pier and told to wait half an hour for the next boat to Westminster. I decided to go home instead and try again the next day as the ticket is 24 hour. Next day I rushed from work on the tube from Canary Wharf to Westminster to catch the 16:00 boat. I arrived at 15:45 and there were two queues. I asked two different members of staff on which boat I would be and they said "the next one, in half an hour". What an absolute lie. I waited with so many others in the queue in the glaring sunshine... probably the last for this year... 1 hour and 10 minutes only to pootle across the river to the London Eye where we waited another 15 minutes only to sail for 15 down to Tower and be booted off. There was no boat to Greenwich. I am exhausted and upset. City Cruises, you need to 1. train your staff to tell the truth and 2. put something in your leaflets about your boats terminating at certain piers. Not professional at all.
- Carol B00So nice!We had a wonderful experience on this attraction! The staff was pleasant and helpful. They tea and servings were all wonderful! It is quite a bit of food! All nice! The person giving the tour was funny and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this especially if you are short on time in London and wanted to do a tea-you do both a tour and tea at the same time.

The customer service is an absolue joke . They never answer their phone & you cannot even leave a message as all their mail boxes are full .
They asked me for voucher numbers & codes after emailing me claiming they had spaces so I sent them the the required information .
Three days later someone called Tom emailed again to say they didn't have spaces ?
And yet I can still book for the requested day I have just checked again ??
Conclusion They Do Not want vouchers !!! The voucher providers should
dump such dishonourable providers who cause misery & don't appear to
worry too much about it .
The end result was I had to re-sort an 10 year olds birthday treat !
I will never set foot on any City Cruise Boat ever !

We booked lunch cruise with City Cruises during a few days trip in London. It far exceeeded our expectations having done one several years ago with another company.
The weather was far too good not to at least give Cty Cruises a chance. The meal itself was really lovely and the boat comfortable and spacious. But what certainly made the cruise memorable was the crew. The waiting staff were so polite and helpful and Tom and Martin the pilot and guide were absolutely wonderful. No boring, recorded commentary, but lively and knowledgable information imparted in a way which just highlighted their own enthusiasm for their job and the City of London. A great time. Highly recommend.

The cruise on the Thames River was great. The scenery is spectacular. We decided to include lunch because we wanted to save time and include both food and cruise in the same experience. Highly recommend this. It is very pricey (especially if you get a window seat - 70 pounds/pp). We upgraded to a windows seat and it was worth it. The food was good (the main was Chicken in a mushroom sauce and the dessert was delicious). One of us had a vegetarian option and it was okay. The service on a cruise was fairly good. The person, who provided background information about the sights when passing by on the Thames, was very good - he provided enough information (with good facts) without boring people.
Feedback on food: soft drinks were not included in the price and for the high cost per person that people pay for this experience, the soft drinks should have been included. Also, there was no selection of teas, only one type of tea. There should be a good variety of teas (after all we are in London and tea is the English specialty that should be part of the experience).
Thames Cruise is a great experience in London! I am just hoping that the price will improve (i.e. reduced).

We arrived 45 minutes early because we had read online that if you arrived early you could get a seat by the window. That was absolutely not true. When they started the boarding everybody rushed to the front only to be told that the seats were already pre-assigned. When we were seated I asked if we could get a window seat and he said they’re already all been reserved. I don’t know how that could happen. Unfortunately it rained the entire time. We were seated in the middle and the best part for us was the two people that joined us (instead of being an awkward experience with strangers) turned out to be a wonderful couple from the UK. The commentary was very difficult to hear and understand. That would’ve tainted our experience except for Lisa who was sitting across from me told me everything we were seeing. She also gave me wonderful sightseeing tips that we used after the cruise was over. The chicken, potatoes, vegetables, and especially the dessert were all very good. We enjoyed a cup of tea afterwards but would’ve liked to have had a complimentary beverage with our meal. We had an awkward moment at the end when my husband paid for the sodas in cash and the waiter disappeared for a while with the change. My husband had to seek him out to get it back.

Hello working4traveling,
Thank you for taking the time to write about your Lunch Cruise and we are glad you enjoyed your time on board! It's great to know you liked the food, but we state on our website you have to upgrade your booking for a window seat and that isn't always guaranteed and that our tables are close to other passengers.
We will look into the speaker quality on board thank you for letting us know.
Kind regards

My husband and I have been planning a trip to London for over a year. We finally made it there and we purchase the lunch tour because it gave us an opportunity to cruise the river Thames while getting a audio tour and food provided. As this is how it was advertised. Once we boarded we asked about the audio tour and they said they will begin giving the audio tour after the food is served. So we began our tour, the food was served and still no audio commentary. We spoke with the supervisor on board and he said that the PA system was not working. He Apologized and said there was nothing that he can do. So he gave us to email to contact city cruises directly once we got back home. We have reached out to them several times, and they do not want to give us any partial refunds. All they are offering is another cruise ( As if we go to London every week… hello we are in Miami Florida) This is probably the only time we were able to afford a trip abroad. We are just very disappointed at how they are handling the situation. This was no fault of ours. They have terrible customer service. I would purchase with another company is possible.

Highly recommended, a wonderful experience. We were greeted and shown to a table, all tables have great views. The waiting staff look after you well and are very professional serving lunch on a moving boat. The lunch is a set menu of chicken in a mushroom sauce, dauphinois potatoes and vegetables followed by mousse. You pay for drinks on top unless you have tap water. You are free to walk around the boat, and I do recommend going to the top deck after lunch and seeing the views from the deck. The commentary is brilliant, the gentleman is funny and informative, I learnt so much about London that I had never heard before. Great value, wonderful experience and professionally run.

Booked a 2 course lunch for my husbands birthday on the 1st April for the 15th April . Arrived at a cold wet millennium pier to be told by a different company that City cruises don't open until the 20th. Gutted. We paid out £46.25 in train fairs. London was pretty much still closed, so hard to enjoy the day. Went home gutted. Why was you selling cruises if you were not opening, sending tickets out a week before etc.

Really good value for money, the food was really nice, we had daphoise potato chicken in a mushroom and tarragon sauce, followed by a chocolate and raspberry cake.We had a good tour of the Thames, The only problem was from the inside you could hear the informative information being played.
We were a little disappointed that we were unable to buy a hot drink, it only got served with lunch apparently, so they wouldn't sell us one.
There are toilets on the boat and you can go up stairs for a outside view.

This was a Christmas present from a friend. What a lovely time we had made even more special by the dry sunny spring weather.
The meal was nice chicken in a white wine and mushroom sauce. An impressive looking coffee mouse with chocolate brownie made in the shape of a red velvet cushion topped with a gold chocolate crown.
The commentary was very informative and funny which finished the trip off well.
Really enjoyed it.

Booked as a special birthday treat for my wife, with our young family. Booking was made on-line and credit card charged, so assumed naively that the booking was secure. We planned the rest of our weekend around this (eg timed visit to the Shard), so was both surprised and disappointed to receive an email several days later telling us that the requested date was no longer available. We were only offered alternative dates on weekdays (no use in school term time). We complained and have been told we can get the money back on the card, but nothing else offered and feel overall massively let down. Bookings still appear to be open for the exact time and date we had ‘booked’. It may be good for those who get to go on it on - but my advice would be buyer beware!
