    Great guide & driver
I was very happy with the guide (Tom) and our driver (Claire I believe). We took the small group tour to three of the Cotswold towns from London. I was very happy that everything was prompt and we took off and stayed on schedule. The sprinter van we took was nice and clean I appreciated that very much. Tom gave great tour that was relatable and informative as well as good humored. There was a lot of history and he managed to get it out without making it dull. I would have liked a little more time in the first and last stops. I felt a little rushed to shop and eat. I feel like you’d have to choose which one you want to do. Overall i would recommend this guide and tour to someone who wants to do a day trip to see Cotswold.

Excellent Trip with our guide Will
The whole experience was very enjoyable and positive. Our guide, Will, was informative, experienced, friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Between each visit he took the time to check in with each guest to ensure they were comfortable and happy with the trip and tours. We did 3 day trip excursions while here and although all were great, this one was excellent due to our exceptional guide, Will.

    Hectic
I hate to rate so low, but this was a waste of a day on our trip. I can do the math and knew the bus ride would be a long one, but had no idea that once we got to our destinations the long lines and additional shuttles would take more time off seeing the sites. We had 60-90 minutes to get around Windsor (no way there was even time to view residences or doll house because there was yet another queue there) and Stonehenge (big crowds walking the main circle after getting off the shuttle to get to it) and Bath (so crowded we got off our bus and went into a pub.) The bus seats were quite small and uncomfortable (we’re not big people.) We were constantly reminded to be back to the bus on time or we would be left…and we did leave two people in Bath (even though we could see them 40 yards away on a bench!) Several folks offered to run and get them…nope. Our host was knowledgeable, but not much pizazz or enthusiasm. If you want to simply check a box that you saw these sites, this is for you. This just wasn’t for us.

This is a very long day. It seems rushed.
Windsor is nice and between the castle and town, you could make a day trip just out of that. Stonehenge is what I really wanted to see on this trip. But, because if the itinerary; very little time is spent there. The queue for the shuttle bus back and forth prevents you from spending adequate time at the site (it’s about 1.5 miles from the parking area). Bath is a nice little city, but the actual Roman baths are not really that great. All and all a nice trip, but felt rushed the entire time. I would do with Windsor and Stonehenge OR Stonehenge and Bath, but NOT all 3 in one day.

Well managed and informative tour for HP fans!
Excellent tour for Harry Potter fans about different HP film locations with good stories to tell for each location. Appreciated the movie screenshot for some of the places too. Our guide Mimi covered quite a lot of places that involving taking us through the busy London tube, but she has managed to lead us through the shortest route and took good care of everyone. Good time management. Thank you!

Convenient way to see the highlights
Fantastic day hitting the highlights of Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath. Enjoyed the convenience of the tour. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide (Richard) and that made the trip more enjoyable. Barrington, the driver, was also great. Wish we had more time at Windsor as a lot of the stop was spent waiting in line to clear security so it felt like we were running through the castle. Other than that, it was a fun way to spend the day.

    Sacha was the BEST
Sasha wasn’t our first guide.. the original didn’t want to be with a new driver and had a fit.. Sasha switched bus tours with her and we ended up with the BEST guide!! Plus ( for being his first day) our bus driver was amazing!! The trip itself was wonderful! Hard to see three amazing sights in one day but I highly recommend it.. long line at Windsor castle but Sasha kept us all entertained with facts about England and the castle… Stonehenge was wonderful and bath was my favorite.. Sasha gave us music and entertainment of all sorts of facts about the country side. Even my two collage age sons loved the trip! Highly recommend! Thank you Sasha!

    Excellent Tour Guide
Excellent time today! Our guide, Brenda, couldn’t have been better on our A.M. tour for Buckingham Castle/Afternoon Tour of Windsor Castle! I told her how much we appreciated her info and that I’d be writing a review. She was so knowledgeable, gave great information and went above and beyond. She mentioned she’s been doing this thirty years and no doubt! She shared so much. What an asset you have, Evan Evans! Great job Deborah…really appreciated you yesterday! Remember folks—gratuity isn’t included in the tour price. Show some love when warranted. These folks go above and beyond! Oh—and the driver—wow, drove that huge coach/bus like a VW Beatle! LOL

Great experience to explore England's countryside and leave bustling London behind for a day
Previously in 2019 my husband and I did this same tour and this time our 2 adult sons joined us. Our family enjoyed the day, although it felt rushed. I feel this was due to the long-distance travel to cover all three venues and all three venues being extra busy due to no travel during Covid outbreak. Richard and Barrington were very friendly and interacted in a fun and positive manner with the passengers. Richard was very knowledgeable and even offered tips for us and other passengers travelling to Paris next. Richard's manner of interacting with some passengers in their language was a nice touch too. The onboard refreshments to purchase were a good option as most food and drink venues were super busy for the short timeframe we had at each venue. We enjoyed seeing England's countryside while listening to Richard's onboard commentary which was informative.

Great tour guide makes all the difference!
Shiela was the most warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable tour guide with a clever wit! She kept our group engaged, on time and laughing all the way as Idris our coach driver, sailed along the busy London streets. If you can, request your tour with Shiela! Loads of stories and information she shared as she moved us along like little ducklings. Not your average tour! Cheers to Shiela and Idris! What a pair!

    Great tour for first day
A great introductory tour of not only the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral but also of the neighborhoods and sites along the way. Sheila was a gracious, informative, and charming guide, with loads of tidbits and insights. She and the driver, Idris, took great care of every person and worked to ensure everyone had a fantastic day. We did the full day, but decided to save our river cruise tickets for another day, which was a nice option. Cheers to the Evan Evans team!

We really enjoyed this tour. Seeing all the carriages in the Mews was amazing especially The Gold Stage Coach which was stunning. Touring the state rooms of the palace was interesting and fun.

Easy Way to See All the Sights but Rushed on Time
Overall, I'm happy we went on this tour and would book again! Our tour guide and driver were great. Very funny and informative. I think this was the best way to see Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Bath all on the same day, but be aware: the lines are long. We spent most of our time in line with other tour groups to see everything. Since the Stonehenge attraction has shorter hours now, all the tour groups happened to get there at the same time and the lines for the bus took so long that our tour of Bath was cut short.

Overall, this is a wonderful tour. We had a good time riding on Virgin train and seeing the landscape. When we arrived, Peter our tour guide was very visible and we all gathered promptly. He was very nice and explained what was going to happen for the day. The weather was not so cooperative. It rained all day making the boat tour miserable. Tea at the end of the day was delicious and allowed for us to connect with our fellow tour mates. Peter our tour guide with Goat adventures was a plethora of knowledge and was doing a splendid job. I would definitely recommend staying the night so as to get more out of the trip.

We were so very lucky to have a "no rain" day in the Lake District. We were picked up at the train station by our guide and were the only ones that day so had a private tour which was nice. We headed off to see the sights. Our first stop was a little village with shops and small restaurants/cafes. I immediately asked where the restrooms were and our guide said "There are none" WHAT??? He said the only bathrooms were up the hill 10 minute walk each way??? I have 2 knee replacments and walk with a cane. He made NO suggestion to drive us up the hill and back. I could not believe it. Fortunately I asked a couple of places and finally found one kind enough to let me use their bathroom. Unfortunately that really put a damper on my opinion of our guide! I am retired from the National Park Service with 33 years of working with the public. The 2 most important pieces of information you relay to any public group is #1 the itinerary for the tour/walk with times at each location and MOST Importantly - where and when there will be be restroom facilities!!! Otherwise the tour itself was spectacular and we loved every minute of the area itself. I urge this tour company to review how they deal with this necessity!

From the moment that Peter of Mountaingoat picked us up at the train station to to time he returned us there a few hours later there was never a dull moment.
His tour guide comments about the Lake District were informative, delightful, and entertaining. His historical knowledge of the Romans and Vikings and how they connected to the Lake District was awesome. Thank you to Evan Evans for such an excellent day tour and an extra special thank you to PETER for a wonderful day.

My mother, daughter and myself traveled to London for a three generations trip. We booked this trip before leaving the US and were not sure what to expect. We could not stop talking about how much we enjoyed this trip. Even though there was a light rain most of the day, we did not care. We were enjoying ourselves so much! We met the agent from Evan Evans group and received our tickets and instructions. Everything went smoothly, just like the agent explained to us. When we arrived at Oxenholme we were met by Peter, our guide from Mountain Goat tours. He was so knowledgeable about the history of area. He was funny and took his time with us. We did not feel rushed at all. The lake cruise was nice too. My 78 year old mother said she would definitely do this trip again. I agree with her. This was the best part of our trip to the UK.

Our guide was nice enough but was very disorganized. We wasted so much time with checking people in, her talking to the other driver or buying our tickets. There was hardly any time at each stop, especially at Beatrix Potter’s house. No one asked any questions or even spoke on the ride, which is so unlike any tour I’ve taken. The boat ride was a complete time waster. Instead of doing the boat, we could have more time at the other stops. The highlight of the day was the tea & scones. Thumbs down on this tour, I wouldn’t recommend it.

So glad we took this day trip, although this is a long way from London! Our Trip Advisor/Evan Evans rep met us with information that told us exactly what to expect once our train arrived in the Lake District at Oxehholme Station. The subcontractor with Mountain Goat Tours was EXCELLENT - very familiar with the area, a good sense of humor, and we had plenty of time on our own for a quick meal and shopping. The trip included the lovely Hill Top Farm (think Beatrix Potter) and a short trip across Lake Windemere. This was a highlight in our trip of over 3 weeks in the U.K. and Ireland.

Virgin trains was incredibly comfortable and clean, made the 2.5 hour ride a joy.
Meryl our guide with Goat adventures was professional and pleasant. Answered all questions and was very friendly.

Although trip advisor members were quick to jump on the don't go if you only have one day bandwagon when I originally inquired about this trip it was a lovely trip, only about a two and a half hour train trip. It was nice to see outside of London and the Lake District was stunning. While I would certainly love to spend more time there most likely I will never get to the UK again so I am very glad I went and Mountain Goat who does the tour in the Lake District does a fabulous job.

This tour package is false advertisement. We were advised to be at the station at 7:30 am for an 8:00 departure. It departed at 8:31 and the Evan Evans rep showed up at 8:10. The "afternoon tea" was only cream tea with a scone and tea. There was no time or place for lunch. We expected afternoon tea with sandwiches, etc. The cruise, included in the price, was cancelled due to rough water. They didn't know what to do with us and drove us around on narrow county roads for two hours. Thirty minutes at the Beatrix Potter house was not enough for shopping. This is my first ever bad review.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to review our tour, and I am sorry that you were disappointed with the experience and I hope I can provide some thoughts around this. As per our website we do indeed advertise a meeting time of 8.00am at Euston Station. After talking to our operators, it seems that the decision was made to cancel the lake cruise on this date. Safety of our passengers is paramount to us, and these decisions are not taken lightly, but safety must come first. It is extremely rare that this cruise is cancelled, as it is a cruise on a lake, however the weather lately has been quite extraordinary. Please contact us on 02079501777 to organise a refund of the cruise portion of the tour. Instead of the cruise, a driving tour around the lake was taken, as we still wanted you to see the sights. The roads around the lake district are indeed narrow country roads, as again you are in the country. The scheduled stop for lunch is Hawkshead, at which point you have free time to eat lunch. I apologise that the afternoon tea was not as expected, and that you would have preferred more time at Beatrix Potters house, we will pass this onto our product department. Thank you again for your feedback, and if you would like to provide further feedback please email us at reservations@evanevanstours.co.uk Kind regards, Evan Evans Team
