Or, on days when the ceremony isn’t held, learn about Buckingham Palace’s history and intrigue on a walking tour. Next, guaranteed admission means you’ll have the rare chance to enter Buckingham Palace, which is only open to the public two months each year (and which always sells out). Personally I enjoyed this experience. I enjoyed the changing of the guard's ceremony and the place my tour guide choose for us to stand. Her information was a bit all over the place and she would give random knowledge during the ceremony when we kind of wanted to know more about what was happening in real time. The palace is included and the guide helps you in. I certainly enjoyed the palace and its history! I think this tour is a must!

The “front row” to the Changing of the Guard was quite far away (see photo), and guide David likes to hear himself talk. I felt a lot of time was wasted walking to-and-fro, and other groups must have gotten much better views. The seamless entrance to Buckingham Palace was a benefit, and the self-guided tour was really nice.

Our tour guide, Katie (Katerina), was truly excellent! She was so personable, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable and included. It was great to hear all of the fun facts & stories she shared, and she made sure the walking pace was easy to follow in the heatwave. Thanks for helping to make our vacation extra special!

I booked this tour . This is feedback about the company and not the tour. Due to tube strike in London , I was running late and informed them that I will miss and requested to reschdule to any future date. Though I informed much before the tour window , it was still within the 24 hours and so quoting policies they denied any rescheduing or refund or even future credit. When company charges money , reschduling of credit for future is always an option. I missed few other tours as well but got credit for them to use in future. I will avoid Citi Wonders as their customer service does not take into account any reconsideration.

Dear Shankerdevsingh, Thank you for sharing your review on Trip Advisor. We are sorry to hear that you missed your tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate late arrivals and missed tours can be rescheduled subject to a rebooking fee and availability. As an exception, we do allow clients to join the next tour on the same day free of charge but this is subject to availability. However, in your case the Buckingham Palace and Changing of the Guard tour only runs once per day due to the timing of the Changing of the Guard. Thank you for your understanding. We wish you safe travels. Kindest Regards, Chadia City Wonders

First of all I'd like to begin with the unfortunate day that I had this tour booked for in advance. It was the day of the bus and underground and train strike. I called City Wonder early in the morning to give me guidelines on how to reach the meeting point but they could not help me. I reached late due to the strike and could not make it for the changing of the Guards. Your company could have kept me informed on the next steps. Where I was to meet the group. At what gate I should be at the palace, how I should go about doing this and atleast at what time the group will arrive at Gate B to enter the Palace. All this frantically I had to decipher on my own with so much of distress. I am from the travel trade myself in India and being here in London as a tourist, I did not expect this kind of service from City Wonder Tours after one knows that there is a problem in the city, we would have expected better help from our tour instructors. This was not at all professional service and I would not recommend this Tour operator to my friends and family in India.

Dear junereccani21, Thank you for posting a review on Trip Advisor. We are sorry that you could not make it on time to the tour due to transportation strikes. Unfortunately this is out of our control and City Wonders is unable to accommodate late arrivals. However, our team must have tried to assist you despite it all since you were aware of Gate B in Buckingham Palace, this is the solution we provide to our clients when they cannot make it to the start of the tour. Now it is possible that our team could not give you the exact time for the Palace in advance as they would need to double check with the coordinator and the guide. So we are sorry if that information could not e provided in advance. We wish you safe Travels Kindest Regards Chadia City Wonders

This tour was not as advertised. We did not see the changing of the guard at buckingham palace because our guide wanted to stay way far back on the lawn in the shade. It was busy with a lot of people so I thought booking with a group would get us a better view/experiences but don’t waste your money. I would have rather just done this on my own- I could have found a better view! Very disappointing for spending so much money and time with the tour. The palace was amazing!

Not a big fan of this one. Alot of walking on a single road, there was no changing of the guard or anything to replace it, there was also no sitting so it's alot of walking for no rest. Buckingham palace despite it not being a busy day was still very crowded and you are not allowed to take photos inside the palace and its hot inside. Check out some of the other castles instead.

Dear Stay775358, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Trip Advisor. We are sorry to hear of your recent tour experience and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. As we strive to provide a high quality service it's disappointing for us to find out that our tour did not live up to your expectations. Also, our tours involve a lot of walking that is why we always advise the pace and duration of the tour on our website. We recommend our guests to wear comfortable shoes, in our booking vouchers so that customers are as comfortable as possible during their tours. The Buckingham Palace only open for visits for the summer, so it could get very crowded at times, we are sorry to hear that it was the case. We wish you safe Travels. Confirmation email should clearly state where to meet the tour guide. We almost didn’t figure it out in time and others didn’t. Be sure to carefully read the departure info in the tour description.

Also, during our tour, the guide lost us in the crowd. He kept saying to the group, which was dispersed in the crowd at the palace’s main gate, to regather “here” but he never described where “here” was (and we couldn’t locate him).

We ended up just waiting for the group & our guide at the palace’s group entrance for over 30 minutes so we could rejoin them and enter the palace. We basically had a “no guide”tour.

We found this tour to be the poorest of any we attended while in London. The starting place was ridiculously far away from the palace. We got a late start so half of our group started running toward the guards. Our guide got so flustered and was so focused on finding them that we did almost nothing for the first hour other than look for them. Also did not realize that our 10:30 tour would not even get to the palace until nearly 12 and we had other things scheduled for later in the afternoon. It was a miserable experience. Should have just purchased entry tickets to palace only.

The Palace was amazing even though pretty crowded and warm (during a short heat wave). The tour before hand was ridiculous. Basically a group of us speedwalking through crowds, missed the first attempt at seeing the guards, walked aimlessly, flipped through some pics in a book, saw the guards briefly through the crowds in a random spot and then waited on a line to get into the palace. Do not recommend this tour.
