Travel by coach then return by boat along the Thames River
Great-value tour includes entrance fees, lunch, and return transport by coach
What to expect
Make your way to the meeting point in central London for an early morning departure. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned coach, set out on the scenic journey through the Kent countryside to Leeds Castle. Arrive at the castle for an early morning tour and receive a regal welcome with a glass of traditional mead. Enjoy a guided tour of the grand Tudor castle before the crowds arrive and hear all about its fascinating history, from the time of William the Conqueror to its most notorious former resident, Henry VIII. Continue to Canterbury, where the star attraction is the UNESCO-listed Canterbury Cathedral. After admiring the cathedral’s Gothic facade, head inside to marvel at the beautiful stained glass windows. After tucking into a packed lunch, continue to England’s southeast coast to see the mighty White Cliffs of Dover, looking out across the English Channel. Hop out to take photos of the dramatic seafront and see Dover Castle, before returning to London. The final stop of the day is Greenwich, a lively London neighborhood on the banks of the River Thames. Learn about its rich maritime heritage and see landmarks including the Old Royal Naval College, Royal Observatory, and the 19th-century tea clipper, Cutty Sark. Finish the day with a scenic boat cruise along the River Thames and admire London landmarks like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, and Big Ben from the water. Arrive back in central London around 6:30pm, where your tour ends at Embankment Pier.

Great trip to Leeds Castle with Antonio on Gray Line
Mar 2020
We had a fantastic time on this Gray Line tour with guide Antonio on March 9. The castle and grounds of Leeds Castle were gorgeous, and it was great to get there ahead of the crowds, with plenty of time to explore. We enjoyed the scenic drive and the quick stop in Dover for a beach photo op before the visit to the gorgeous and historic Canterbury Cathedral and brief walk around Canterbury. Then we headed to Greenwich for a quick look at the Naval Museum before boarding our ferry ride back to London. Antonio was a quintessential Englishman, and we enjoyed his dry sense of humor and the way he good-naturedly made fun of us Americans for things like our use of the word "restroom" instead of the vulgar "toilet." Two nations separated by a common language, he said. He kept us entertained and made sure everything was well-organized and ran on schedule. Great tour, would highly recommend!

Great day out
Mar 2020
Picked this day trip to see a variety of places outside of London. Beautiful scenery and was a sunny day which made it is extra nice. Guide was Morten and Driver was Armando both professional. Enough time was spent at the stops. I would have liked more time at Canterbury to do more shopping but inside of Cathedral was beautiful. Dover is only a photo stop but had a clear view. Greenwich was a walk to the ferry landing for the public boat ride but enjoyed the boat ride. To save money book a hop-off bus with free walking tour at same time.

Absolutely the best!!!
Feb 2020
Morten and his driver Armando were AMAZING guides!!! For my husband, who's never traveled internationally before, and myself (who hasnt' been to London in 14 years), this was an absolute highlight of our 9 day trip... Each part of this tour with Golden Tours held a spectacular mark.

Antonio or Tony was awesome
Mar 2020
It was an excellent tour. The best bang for your buck is to research all of the destinations. Prior to driving to the locations I had my iPad out and was ahead of the power curve. Our tour guide Toni did an excellent job of filling us in on other important facts along each location. I also was happy that the day before, Katerina helped me to choice the best tour online for a better price, she was awesome!. It was a wonderful day and I highly recommend this tour but be advised because of so much packed in the day, you must do your homework prior of each location if you want to DO IT RIGHT. You will certainly enjoy you day,

Wonderful day trip! :)
Feb 2020 • Couples
Guide Pablo and driver Alan were wonderful! Had just enough time at each location to take in all the sights and pictures, but not so much to be a bore! Loved the commentary, lots of information, great personality and energy. The WiFi on the bus was easy to connect and worked fast. Would definitely tour with Golden again! :) :)

Ilene, our guide was fabulous making a great tour fabulous
We had the most amazing day tour ever. Part of it was due to our special guide, Ilene. Do you know the history of every element of the tour and gave a brilliant narration of the countryside as we drove. Not one moment was boring. She did her best to make everyone feel included and special. Even though she was translating to Mandarin for the Chinese population in our group, she professionally and seamlessly switched between English and Chinese, making sure not one detail was missed. The tour itinerary is really good but if you were lucky enough to have this guide, you will have an unforgettable experience.

Kent tour - Leeds Castle, Dover, Canterbury
Jan 2020
This was a really good bus tour that took up a full ten-hour day without ever getting either rushed or tiring. We started with a couple of hours at Leeds Castle, which is quite amazing. Next up was half an hour at Dover Beach with a view of the white cliffs - unfortunately you can't go right up to them any more because they're unsafe. A short drive to Canterbury followed where we visited Canterbury Cathedral and walked around the centre of the city; it's all pedestrian friendly and a very beautiful place. The cathedral is stunning. Then back to London for a walk around Greenwich, after which we finished up with a boat ride up the Thames.

We were driven around in a luxurious bus and our driver Ali was very good. The commentary from our guide Bruce was very informative and delivered in a friendly and witty way. Some of the little tidbits of information he tossed out were real eye openers - I never knew the Queen owned all deer in Great Britain!

All in all, it was a fantastic day. This was my second tour with Golden (I did the Windsor/Stonehenge/Bath tour a couple years ago), and I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer.
