The River Cruise was fabulous!! The weather was not the best, it was the coldest, windiest, sleetiest April day BUT we made the most of it and sat on the top deck to maximise the views and feel the experience!
(Along with 20 other daft people) :)
It was funny and VERY cold with ‘Liam’ the tour guide making the best of the rubbish weather and brightening everyone’s time. He was funny, extremely knowledgeable and definitely made the experience what it was.
The views of historic artefact's are fantastic from the boat and the facts are a bonus for any future pub quiz.
I would recommend it to any age traveller as it’s a great activity in the heart of London at a decent cost.

Thankyou to Captain, crew and especially Liam for finishing our 18th birthday London trip with a smile!
A+++

Solo
I’ve lived in London all my life and haven’t been on either one of these attractions, however took advantage of the surprisingly good autumn weather to visit both the London eye and river boat cruise solo. I now know why both attractions are so popular for tourist. They are definitely worth visiting and good value for money if you want a quick overview of London in a short space of time.

The river cruise was the highlight for me, which was a duration of 45mins. I had an excellent guide (Shari...may have spelt that incorrectly) she was amazing, very friendly, humorous and knowledgeable. I loved hearing interesting things about a city I’ve grown up in, especially the history, the facts about the pop culture influences and inspiration.

The London eye gave me beautiful panoramic views of London in a way I hadn’t seen it before, especially the iconic landmarks you see pictures and souvenirs. I had a standard ticket so my experience was shared with one other family. But because it’s pretty quiet you may get a whole capsule to yourself, which usually cost £500 as a VIP experience. So it’s definitely value for money during quieter periods. There are several opportunities to buy photos taken of you during the experience. However you are free to take your own pictures throughout on your personal devices. There’s seating and more than enough space to stand to suit your preference during the 30minute duration on the wheel.

I did the river cruise then the wheel, which I preferred because it gave me more of a background to some of the popular sites you get to see on the wheel.

I’d definitely recommend taking advantage of the combo sightseeing deals if you have the time as it is more value for money. However each experience can be bought separately.

SO MUCH FUN! OK, yes the ride went quickly and it wasn't cheap - but come on! This was such a fun thing to do!! The vantage point you get from this height was absolutely amazing! We appreciated seeing each pod being quickly cleaned between passenger loads, and the pods weren't filled to capacity. Boarding was quick and efficient. The boat ride was OK...we had already walked and seen most of what was pointed out, but the narrator was an ABSOLUTE RIOT! We had hoped for a clear day to do these activities and our day was gray and drizzly, but it was still amazing and in fact I'd recommend it as a good rainy day activity....even though it doesn't take a lot of time.

The only part of this that I didn't love was that they really don't have much of a covered waiting area and we spent a fair amount of time just waiting in the rain before they opened.

Although I'm giving this 1 star to highlight the awfulness of the online booking website, the experience itself, staff helpfulness, efficiency, etc would otherwise rate 4 stars.

I wanted to book 1 adult carer, 2 other adults and a child for the combined London Eye/River Cruise.

Firstly, it is extremely difficult to find the link to book a carer's ticket. Once found, you have to book it on a special web page. Then the 'Continue Booking' button, instead of continuing the existing booking (in this case the Eye/Cruise) takes you back to the start. This confused me and I ended up booking and paying for 2 adults and a child on the Eye only. There is no option on the site to cancel or amend the type of booking, and tickets are supposedly non-refundable.

I got no response on the Chat Line, but after 20 minutes waiting on the phone, I got through to a very helpful lady who cancelled the booking but said I had to email the new booking reference in order to get a refund. This was OK by me.

So I went back and redid the booking. You have to book the cruise time, then pay for the combined ticket, and only then can you continue to book the Eye. I'd booked the cruise for 11:45, and wanted the Eye for 15:00. However, the first time slot I was offered was 17:45 the next day!!

Just what use is this? We were only in London for the day. I had just paid over £120 for a combined Cruise/Eye, only to find it was useless, and the tickets are non-refundable. So another 20 minutes on the phone. Apparently only a limited number of Eye slots are offered with a combined ticket (why?), but again a helpful lady booked us on for 15:00.

Finally, I discovered that there is no email address to send the new booking ref for the refund, so another 20 minutes was spent sorting it out on the phone, which was done with no problems once I'd got through.

In the event, the day was very enjoyable, and everything went extremely smoothly. As I say, I have no complaints on that score at all, and even the 20 minute waits on the phone line were acceptable given current circumstances.

But the website is a shambles. It is quite unbelievable and totally unacceptable that customers should be expected to pay in advance without being sure that their requirements would be met. Most purchasers of a combined ticket would want to be able to do both in within a single day, and it is not unreasonable for them to expect you to provide that. At least leave the final confirmation and payment until everything is complete!!

London eye is something I have wanted to do since I was very young and I am so glad I have had the opportunity to do it a few days ago!

First we went on the river cruise, a very good experience for us. We got there 20-30 minutes early though and we were close to the back of the line! The staff were a bit stressed when we tried to go into the Uber boat section accidentally but that was understandable and reasonable. When we got onto the boat the staff of it were some of the friendliest people I’ve met on this trip to London. They welcomed us and have a short explanation of where our options of seating were. We decided to sit at the top and were lucky enough to get good seats at the edge of the boat (would recommend the left side for good view of tower bridge for photos!) and waiting another 15 mins for everyone else to board and we were away down the river. The man talking us through everything was very interesting but funny at the same time! He taught me so much in that boat ride. Even recommended a few of the places we went on our trip. Overall the boat was an excellent experience and good for everyone of all ages!

Now the London eye, we went there about 2 hours after the end of the river cruise. At first we were confused and thought fast track meant you had just pre-booked. Once we got to the front the man at the fast track lane just looked at our ticket and said a bit rudely: “You don’t have these tickets, don’t try and skip the queue.” Which to be fair it must have looked like it! But we learned from our mistakes and went to the proper entry point. The wait was maybe 30-45 mins which we were fine with! It was definitely worth it for the amazing view! We got our photo taken before we went up which was nice. Only thing I didn’t like was getting in to the pod, you’re lined up and told to just fast walk (very close to a jog) into it. Other than that a very good experience for me!!

We booked the London Eye and the accompanying river cruise as a treat for my birthday and we were not disappointed. I have been on the London Eye twice before but the views are incredible, particularly if it’s a clear day, and my partner and my parents had never been on so it was definitely worth a repeat visit for me.

Covid measures were followed and the queues/security checks moved quickly and were well-organised.

The river cruise was brilliant, I have never done it before but it was a fantastic new perspective from which to see London. Our guide, Mick, was brilliant and so funny, even if I think a couple of his jokes came out of a Christmas cracker! He was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of info about the landmarks we were seeing, but it was very engaging and interesting to listen along to.

Booked a dual package of the London Eye and River Cruise through a train 241 deal. In all honesty, it was my first time on the London eye and it was underwhelming- could greatly do with some guides around to navigate you on what you can see. In stark opposition however, was Mick, the hero of the hour, in the accompanying river cruise.

Mick is a true cockney man: chirpy, cheeky and just begging to be chastised for his groan-inducing jokes. It was a great 40 minutes around the Thames, and now I have great tibits and facts to bring to dinner parties.

There's room for everyone on the top deck to get full views, but I'd recommend getting there some 15 minutes before if you want choice of seats. This is the way to see London; just take a coat with you! Far better experience than the eye, and at a ~ third of the price, think we paid £8 each!

I was part of a coach trip which included the river cruise and London eye. The cruise was well organised and relaxing. It was about 45 mins. It was nice to see London from the Thames.
The London eye was about 30 mins. On both cruise & flight on eye security was present checking people's bags. My extra bag even went through a scanner.
It slowly goes around, and you hop on/off. If anyone needs extra time to get on it does stop. It is high and there is plenty room to walk around. There are plenty rails to hold onto plus an oval seat if you don't want to be too close to the edges of the pod. There are opportunities to have photos taken & printed off.
It's best to go early on as later in the day it's busy. I had to stay in the area due to being on a coach trip & just got busier as the day went on. If you have the chance to do the London eye & cruise then move on, I would advise that. Lots of expensive tourist attractions near each other.
What I found was the amount of rubbish in the area, the bins got full & people were leaving litter. It was being picked up but surely emptying the bins in the first place would have solved the main problem.
There is a lovely garden area to sit on a nice day in area of the attraction. Some nice buskers. To avoid high costs of drinks and sandwiches there is a M & S around the corner. If you are going to be paying £4 for two standard bottles of cola in the local tourist shop - there are more choices in m & s even a larger bottle of water. I know you may say it's expensive, but London is. If you can get more worth for your money in any nearby supermarket that's better.

We came down to London to stay for two days and to meet family. As we were staying at the Royal Docklands we didnt particularly want to see the centre of London even thought it was very quiet, but we thought we would do the Eye with the river cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed the river cruise, it was very informative and we were entertained by the guide, think he was called AJ, he should be on the stage, he is a born entertainer, can highly recommend this cruise.

Beautiful views of the city from the London Eye, it is so beautiful to see everything from up there that time inside the capsule flies by. The movement of the Ferris wheel is almost undetectable, so if you suffer from vertigo you can't feel it. Point against the price of the photos, they take beautiful photos of you inside the capsule and at the time of charging them, a photo comes out almost as the value from the entrance, that seemed a bit excessive
