Best tour in the city!
Nov 2021 • Couples
Wonderful way to get as much information on Edinburgh all packed into one tour. Our tour guide was excellent and the audio equipment was top-notch. We were able to hear the tour clearly while being in the busiest of streets. Our tour guide was energetic throughout the tour and had more insight to the city than expected. Highly recommend booking the castle ticket along with the tour.

Wet day, brilliant tour!

Excellent tour with Charles as our guide. Despite the terrible weather we really enjoyed our experience and learnt a huge amount about Edinburgh and the castle. Charles has a huge amount of knowledge and delivers it in an engaging style, our attention was held throughout.
The headphones also make it so much easier.. no straining to hear.
Thank you, would absolutely recommend!

Skip the queue pass - is it worth it?
The guide was very informative and friendly. As we paid for “skip the view tickets” we were expecting to go straight in, however we had to wait for for the guide to go in and buy the tickets and then come back out. There wasn’t actually a big queue (not that I could see) so it felt like it would be quicker if we just went in and bought them ourselves. As it was lashing rain too, it felt like more of a pain having to stand and wait. Just something to consider as we chose this tour due to the skip the queue tickets and I’m not sure if it was worth it for that reason alone. All in all, a good tour though.

Dear Ruth, Many thanks for getting in touch and we're pleased you enjoyed your time with your Storyteller. Due to the current health & safety procedures in Edinburgh Castle, they operate strict timed ticketing which, even when 'quiet', means a delay on entering. On the question of value, your ticket included 1.5hr guided walking tour of the Old Town and a further 45mins with our guide inside Edinburgh Castle. This also includes an audio device to give a fully immersive experience and ensure you hear every word over the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh's lively Old Town. Thanks again for your feedback and we hope you had a lovely time in the city, All the best, Kat

Charles the tour guide was excellent
Charles was our tour guide today and he was fantastic, very informative and answered any questions anyone from the group had, very polite and made the tour fun with a good sense of humour. Seen and showed us alot of things along the royal mile. Although it was raining heavily off and on Charles made sure to go under cover where possible to give us information. Would definitely recommend

Hi Dane, Thanks for joining us. So glad to hear that you enjoyed your tour with Charles and I'll make sure I pass your kind words along. Glad to hear he was able to shelter you from the rain. Our storytellers will often look for sheltered spots in the case of bad weather. Luckily with all of the closes, there's lots of these on the Royal Mile. All the best and so glad we earned your recommendation, Kim

Essential experience
Sep 2021 • Couples
We absolutely loved our time on the tour with Simon. Simon was very knowledgeable in the area and it’s history and we had a good laugh. My partner’s a history graduate and was in her element, we both had a great time and I would recommend the tour to anyone going to Edinburgh for the first time.

The walk itself isn’t too bad, there’s enough stopping and starting at points of interest that you can catch your breath going up and down the hill.
