    The Last Kingdom
The tour was billed as a Harry Potter tour but you also visit Bebbanburg Castle which is the ancestral home of Uhtred son of Uhtred from The Last Kingdom. It would have been nice to have some more time there to go in that castle as there is a sign that they have some props from the show. Either way, great wee day tour. Karis was knowledgeable and friendly.

The trip that has gotten me into exploring more of my home
As someone born and bred in Scotland, I never fancied any tours until I had a partner from Brazil who had never been here. She forced me along and I'm very glad she did, for about £100 (including the worthwhile Loch Ness cruise) it was grand fitting so much into a single day. Sophie our tour guide was brilliant, working in service myself I know it can be tough getting folks engaged that have been up since about 7am and later on a bus for about 5hrs. Yet she never stopped providing information whenever there was a point of interest, and managed a good few chuckles out of the very tired visitors. Treat her well! Only complaint would be if there could be some way to reserve seats? My partner and I couldn't sit together as the gents next to us didn't want to give up a window seat (fair enough, until he spent the majority of the trip staring at his phone). Will certainly look to explore more of the homeland after this trip, thanks again Sophie for the puns!

    Amazing
Amazing tour around Scotland. Beautiful sights to see and so many good spots for photos. Paul was an amazing tour guide, had great stories to tell. Even with the rain and wind this tour was spectacular.

Worst ever experience of our life. Money sucking Highland explorer tours and Viator
On our way to Edinburgh, our great coach Megabus broke down in Leeds. The Coach authorities tried to repair the technical issues but wasn't successful. Later, Megabus arranged another coach for us, which delayed our journey by 3hr 30 min plus. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we couldn't make on the time we booked the tour for, i.e, 1st September 2023, 8am. We contact the Highland explorer tours, they denied any reschedule or refund. They forwarded the issue to their dear partner Viator who probably collects the tour fare, saying if Viator agrees, we are happy to reschedule/refund. Now, when we contact Viator, they utter the same line what Highland explorer tours have said. So, both Highland explorer tours and Viator play the blame game and distress the customers. Surprisingly, no one knows who holds the tour fare and they gulp your fares without any shame. When we have not travelled on the tour, why shouldn't they refund/reschedule our fare. It was really annoying and stressful day. I recommend people to be careful while booking with Highland explorer tours and Viator, they do not consider unavoidable circumstances. Once your money is out of your pocket, it's theirs, whether you travel or not, it doesn't matter.

    Wonderful tour guide and tour!
Ali was an exceptional tour guide. I was impressed with her driving skills, her knowledge of all things Scotland, her storytelling, and her kindness towards every person in her charge. The tour was well planned and thoughtful. We saw so many beautiful parts of Scotland. I cannot say enough good things about Ali and Highland Explorer. Thank you!

Loved Scotland and Ali our tour guide!
We learned so much about the country and saw so many new places. Ali, our tour guide was amazing! She told us some interesting facts from everyplace we went, and, boy, can she drive that bus! It was a great time and we made some new friends too!

The trip to the Scottish highlands, the lochs (lakes) and the Isle of Skye was a beautifill journey that met expectations. The trip gave me the opportunity to see the stunning and diverse landscapes of Scotland. The trip was very well organised and the tour guide Stevie P did an exceptionall job looking after the group for 3 days. He was very enthusiastic, knowledgaable and amicable which made the trip a big success. Tte hospitality across Scotland was genuine and uplifting. Thank you.

There are so many highlights on this trip. The walk up the mountain on the way to the old man of storr, Dunvegan castle and the Jacobite steam train were all amazing. But what really makes the trip are the guides! Rich was a wealth on knowledge sharing so much information in a really fun and entertaining way. I’m not a fan of history but Rich kept it upbeat and interesting the whole time and made us laugh. Sandy was also one of our guides and was so friendly. One tip from us is to book ahead for dinner reservations if you want to eat out from the hotel. If you don’t book ahead you might not get on anywhere or you could be queuing for a table for a while. We really recommend the glass green houses at the The Portree hotel….heated, with a speaker for you to blue tooth to and play your tunes and free wifi! Can’t recommend this trip enough!

We booked this tour eight months in advance. Halfway into the first day, our guide/driver (Tim), told us that the tour company had “overbooked”, and our overnight accommodation would not be at the Skye Inn with the rest of the group. Instead, we were going to be shuttled to a nearby B&B. We were told we would have a bedroom and a shared bathroom. We expressed to Tim that was not acceptable, but we were told there was “ no other option, sorry”. No explanation about why we were the ones being kicked out (even though we had booked eight months early). Highland Explorer tours told us they would refund 50 GBP as a way of apologizing. (Two weeks have passed now, and we have not received the promised refund.). The entire situation was handled poorly.

I would not book with this company again.

did my first ever solo trip and was a bit worried about travelling alone so I signed up with the Haggis tour!

Tour turned out to be absolutely amazing and educational, and Rich, our tour guide was absolutely funny and so good with the storytelling! At the end of the trip, I was a bit sad that I didn't get to see any highland cows up close but Rich had remembered my request. So, before heading back to Edinburgh, he stopped the bus and I managed to take a lot of photos with the cute cows!

So happy with his gesture and would highly recommend any female solo travellers to go on to any of the Haggis tour if you're feeling anxious travelling on your own. Looking forward to join another Haggis tour soon. Thanks again for being the best Haggis tour guide, Rich!!

We had most mesmerising trip to Scotland. The trip is so well planned including from picking us, hotel accommodation and site seeing. Moreover, we got enough time to relax so that next day we could have more energy. The trip was made more interesting by our very amazing tour guidr- Scot. He not only made history so interesting by telling us stories but he also played so good music for us. We are very thankful to him for making our trip unforgettable.
Trip is worth in this cost.
Thanks very much to Scottish tour people for arranging this amazing tour.

Just back from a 3 day trip to the Isle of Skye and what a delight it was. Beautiful scenery, helped by the weather!
Louise was our tour guide and I have to say she was top notch. Interesting facts, stories and myths delivered with enthusiasm and humour. Throw in some cheesy jokes and a Scottish themed playlist, what more could you ask for?
We stayed in Portree and I would recommend booking restaurants in advance as most were fully booked.
Overall, I would say this is the perfect trip to experience a taste of the Highlands and would recommend to others.

* Louise said her mum likes to read her reviews so Louise’s mum if you do read this… your daughter is a delight and a real credit to you!

We had an amazing experience for this 3 day tour. The scenery of the Scottish Highlands was breathtaking and even when it was raining it added to the atmosphere.

However it was Owen (our tour guide) that made it an extra special trip. His catchy joyful and excited attitude coupled with his depth of knowledge of Scottish history, folklore and stories added meaning to the incredible scenery, which he told during the ride between site stops. He has so much information retained I'm sure he could literally speak the entirety of the 3 days!

Owen also ensured that everyone was comfortable with plenty of bathroom and food breaks. There were plenty of site stops during each day as there is just so much to see. If there is anything to improve it would be to offer a 4 day tour option as well.

We definitely want to come back to the Highlands again!!!

We had the best time with our tour guide Alison last weekend! We had planned this trip for a very very long time! It was everything and more. Alison was very good, we adored her folklore and sense of humour. She put thought into every stop we made and was very good at communicating every step of the way. Her driving skills were insanely impressive for such a large bus on tiny bendy roads. She had our full confidence from the very beginning and really made the trip for us. We had unexpectedly hot weather the entire weekend so frequent stop and air conditioning was very welcome and the views were stunning!!

I traveled on my own, but I was lucky to get an amazing group from our guide to my fellow explorers!
Our guide Sophie is an excellent driver and even better storyteller. She drove us through Highland’s History and legend at the same time while we were astonished by its view. Did I mention that she takes great photos and know the best spots to get that breathtaking photo?

Highly recommend this tour to anyone, no matter if you are going on your own or with friends or a significant other

The whole experience of my travelling buddies joining a 3-day Isle of Skye tour and me was fantastic. The customer service was responsive. The itinerary was perfect, and the spots were stunning. The B&B accommodation was very comfortable. The check-in point was very close to the city centre and railway station, and the process was stressless.

Big shoutout to our guide, Alison, for making our trip smoother and more enjoyable. She had never been hesitating to answer our questions. She introduced different tourist spots very informative and interestingly. She also handled various issues very professionally. My friend and I both felt very assured and secure following Ali's lead. I highly recommend her and this agency. (pls do give her a raise!)
