Spending the day with Alexander on a private tour of Edinburgh was like visiting a new city with a wonderful family friend. Alexander met us at our hotel promptly in his spotless van and we were off and running. We started with an overview of the city at Calton Hill. We were immediately impressed with his knowledge of the city, as he pointed out key landmarks and we talked about how we wanted to spend our day.
Alexander was superb at narrating our journey as we headed for the Royal mile. He was wonderfully open in sharing his experiences with the city and life in Scotland in general. It was terrific to share in the culture and just speak with a local. He made us feel at home and we found ourselves chatting and laughing about a wide range of topics about life in Scotland.
Throughout the day he showed us so much more of Edinburgh than we could have ever found on our own. He showed us New Town, with a well-timed walk through the area, the main office of the Bank of Scotland (what a hidden gem that was!) and he provided us with the high points we should see when we had more time. He knew where to take us, how to get us in to see things, and totally maximized our experience.
As a added bonus, we were able to visit Rosslyn Chapel. We rounded out our day with a stop at the Firth of Forth to enjoy a dram and more history of the city, and the story of the Tay Bridge. It was an awesome day of touring, sightseeing, history, and great conversation.
We highly recommend booking with Alexander for any of your Scotland touring needs. When we come back next time, and we will definitely be back, we will seek him out to help us enjoy more of the amazing sights, history, and culture that is so uniquely Scotland.

We hired 'Experienced Tours' for days in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
They were a pleasure to work with. My wife and I are both in the US travel industry and we can not say enough positives about our time with Experienced.
Informative, adaptable and quick to respond to emails.
In Edinburgh our day with Alexander was fantastic. Van was immaculate, roomy (4a 1 teen). Alexander was so flexible and added little extras here and there that made it a fantastic day while taking in the full breadth of the physical city and its long history without EVER feeling rushed, all while managing to give us time to ourselves to explore locations as a family too.
No rush/panic to find a place to eat. Reservations pre-booked at a nice convenient royal mile restaurant that coincided with our lengthy time at the castle.
Top to bottom ... no regrets, no issues. Fantastic day.
Do NOT hesitate to book them.
We will be recommending Experienced Tours to all our industry peers and family

Great way to explore Edinburgh. We booked a full day private tour for our family (2 adults plus 10yr old). Alexander was a great host, very friendly and knowledgeable and planned the day based on our input. Fantastic way to explore the city and surrounding areas in a clean and comfortable van (and a welcome break from walking everywhere). Alexander kindly offered us tips for the remainder of our trip to Scotland, and I would highly recommend this company for a high quality experience.

Hello,
If you are looking to book a tour that is reliable DO NOT CHOOSE this company. After having the tour booked with them for 4+ months the head guide just sent me an email indicating that he feels he disappointed us and canceled our tour.
Keep in mind I never complained or said anything about being disappointed. The last communication was a staff member letting me know that Edinburgh castle will be doing some up keep on the crown jewels so not all the pieces will be on display. She also let me know that the underground tunnels do not allow kids under 5 years old. (Special add on the company agreed to).
I simply asked if another company may allow kids under five. I also let the person know I would talk with my family about the crown jewel display.
What a crappy customer experience to just make assumptions out of nothing and cancel on the customer.
Don't use this company if you want any security that your experience will work out.

I am so sorry that you felt the need to review a tour you didn't take and we are saddened to to receive our first negative review.
Given the changes that you wanted to make and the strict timings we had to adhere too, we advised that you needed a transportation service rather than a tour company as this tour as described didn't meet your specifications.
We wanted to give you enough time to arrange an alternative before your booking in July (5 months from now).
In any event, I hope that you have a fantastic time in Scotland.

Michael, our tour guide, was fantastic. He was full of knowledge, funny, and very good with our 3-yr old. We very much appreciated his making reservations ahead of time for our lunch and being flexible based on our interests. His passion for his work really shines!

I can not rave enough about Alexander!! He made me fall in love with Edinburgh, though I'm sure it would be hard not to. He was so flexible and added little extras here and there that made it a fantastic day. I loved sharing his knowledge of his country, he brought everything to life. He even accommodated a very random, special request from us that meant the world. I would give 10 stars if possible!

We had a fantastic time touring and learning about Edinburgh. Alexander had amazing knowledge of the city and made the whole day really enjoyable. The tour was very well organised and the Mercedes minivan was very clean. This tour is a must for anyone who really wants to explore/learn more about Edinburgh in a short amount of time.

We had a wonderful tour around Edinburgh with our guide Michael. He was really charming and informative. The whole day was very enjoyable. We visited all the places we particularly wanted to see, including the Royal Yacht Britannia, and cozy pub for lunch, and much more.

Alexander,our guide, was personable, knowledgeable. It was fun to spend the day with him. His van was very comfortable. The drive on the back roads to Loch Tay and Kenmore was special. If I go back to Edinburgh I hope to have him guide us again on a trip to another part of Scotland.

Alexander was the absolute best. Our family loved learning about Old and New Edinburgh from him. Could not have imagined a better way to spend a day in the city. Particularly loved his lunch selection and our game of skittle while we waited for our food. Can't wait to get back to Scotland and book a tour with him to the Highlands.

Just booked your tour today for 3 Adults but didn't see child option. Noticed in reviews you took a family with a 10 year old.
Is there a different fee for kids 12 & under?
Coming into Newhaven on 7/1/22, docking by 8 AM with debarkation @ 9 AM+ on Norwegian STAR, sailing out same day @ 6 PM from same dock. Out family is of Scottish descent & with just one bloody day in Edinburgh, we really wanted to see it from a Scot's perspective, YOURS! The fluidity you offer is perfect for our varied interests. Primarily interested in historical sites, castles, gardens & art. No Distilleries, sorry.
Hello....the premium minivan tours are very attractive, but there are only two of us. Do we make a reservation assuming that July tourist traffic would likely fill the minivan and thus reduce the per head price. How does that work? If the van doesn't fill up within a day or two of the reservation do we simply cancel?

Is there pickup at Ship Pier ( Crown Princess) in Queensferry?
Does driver have prepaid tickets for the Castle and Yacht so we do not wait in the long lines to purchace our tickets?
