Overview
Experience Dublin’s love of literature and pubs on this pub crawl. Leave the navigation to your guide as you head down the city’s charming lanes. Stopping into pubs that hold literary significance, listen to anecdotes and facts about local authors, and hear actors bring famous works to life. Purchase some pints and snacks to refuel before participating in a literary-themed pub quiz to test your listening and retention skills.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and group of fellow book and beer lovers at a central location on Dublin’s Duke Street.

Stroll off down city streets, the sights and sounds of which inspired writers such as Brendan Kennelly, Paula Meehan, Eavan Boland, W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, and Samuel Beckett.

Along the way, you’ll pop into pubs with literary significance, where actors will recite lines from famous works, bringing the literature to life. At each stop, feel free to purchase a pint or a snack; you’ll need your stamina for the literary quiz at the conclusion of the tour.

End your evening at your departure point.

A must-do! We loved it!

This tour is so much fun and so unique! My boyfriend and I booked it because we wanted to see Dublin and visit different pubs, yet we are old souls and a full-on drunken bar crawl was too much for us. We both love theatre...More

Thanks Katie for your positive review. Theatregoers are some of our best customers. You are right - this is NOT a drunken cruise through the underbelly of Dublin pubs. It is all the things you have mentioned. Oh you forgot! The famous Tullamore Dew Literary...More

What, no Yeats?

Frank and Finbar, the guides, were smart but not stuffy. Engaging content, but one of the pubs we visited was packed with a group of young American college students(?) who don't seem to have much experience in pubs! Good introduction to a variety of classic...More

Thanks for your review Phil. I do talk about Yeats and his influence on the literary life of Dublin but it's on my morning Lit Walk on Mondays. He wasn't really a pub man, although, as the story goes, he was once brought to a...More

Entertaining evening

We enjoyed this tour where professional actors walk you to pubs where famous Irish writers frequented. The actors perform short pieces from each writer (four of them) and provide a wealth of stories and history as well.
