    Irish Whiskey Museum
    Stop: 60 minutes -
Make your way to the Irish Whiskey Museum to meet your guide and begin your 1-hour whiskey experience. Located in the heart of Dublin’s city center beside the famous Trinity College, the museum can be easily reached by bus, Luas and DART lines. Choose a tour time that suits you, and then set off on an enlightening journey through the history of Irish whiskey. Affectionately called 'uisce beatha' (Gaelic for 'water of life'), the Irish have been distilling the spirit for centuries. In the 19th century, whiskey was the drink of choice in Ireland and across many parts of the world, but the Irish Potato Famine, Prohibition and various wars all contributed to the drink’s demise. As you make your way through the museum, trace the rise, fall and recent resurgence of Irish whiskey, and listen to your guide share stories about whiskey through the ages and examine displays of rare whiskey memorabilia. End your experience with a whiskey tasting. Take a deep sniff of the powerful spirit, before tasting the smooth tipple. If you’ve chosen to upgrade your experience, you’ll get to sample a premium aged whiskey and take a souvenir home as a memento of your experience. The tour concludes after the tasting, but you may wish to head to the retail area to pick up some whiskey merchandise or visit the bar, where you can sample more of the golden elixir in a range of whiskey-based cocktails (own expense).

Wonderful, humorous storytelling and information imparted by our tour guide, Grace. We learned an awful lot about Irish distilling processes and how it compares with others. Had the premium tasting experience and walked away with pride at our newfound whiskey knowledge.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience--well worth the cost. We appreciated hearing a history unbiased by a brewery. Be sure to opt for the complete tasting set.

Mark was a truly amazing guide, explaining all there is to know about Irish whiskeys. He was even knowledgable when it came to peat whiskeys, which I was the most interested in.

A very interesting and informative tour. Janet was very knowledgeable and witty with great delivery. The whiskey was good and I have left knowing more than I did on arrival. If you enjoy whiskey then a great way to spend an hour or so. I would recommend.
