Get out of Paris for a trip to the countryside on this tour to Giverny, the location of Claude Monet's House and Gardens. You'll travel by bus to the Monet property, where you have two hours of free time to wander around the house and grounds independently. An audio guide is included, which you'll receive before departure. Select a morning or afternoon departure time when booking.
What to Expect
Your tour starts at a central location in Paris, where you'll receive your audio guide for your visit to Monet's House and Gardens. Then board the bus for the 1.5-hour drive from the city to Giverny.

When you arrive, you have two hours of independent time to explore Monet's studio, home, and vibrant gardens. Monet lived here with his family for more than 40 years, working on some of his Impressionist masterpieces. Inside, you can see his kitchen, sitting room, reading room, dining room, and bedroom, plus admire his collection of Japanese prints, which provided him inspiration.

Outside, stroll around rows and rows of flowers—from roses to nasturtium to blooms from East Asia—and visit the water lily pond and Japanese bridge, surrounded by weeping willows. This is a scene you'll probably recognize from some of his paintings. Throughout your self-guided tour, listen to the audio guide for commentary about Monet's work and life.

When your time is up, you'll be returned to the starting point in Paris, where your tour ends.

Beautiful But Crowded

This place is beautiful but if you go in July it's very crowded and it's a small space. The bus ride and audio tour were fine. Not memorable. Try to go in the Spring if you can.

It was very convenient being picked up and dropped off at our hotel. We had a comfortable drive to Giverny and skip the line was a bonus. We enjoyed the freedom to roam at our own pace and spend more time in the areas which...More

Felt rushed during visit

The trip was advertised as 4-5 hour transportation to Giverny and tickets to the grounds. Unfortunately, three hours was spent in traffic getting to/from the gardens. Also, the guide wasn't clear to myself and a few others that everyone on the bus needed to go...More

Too rushed and crowded

We only had an hour effectively at the garden and the tour guide had us come back to the bus 15 min earlier than necessary

I think it would be great to have more than 1/2 day at Monet's garden and Giv. That way if it is crowded, like our visit you'll be under less pressure. Take an early morning bus out if possible to avoid some of the crowds... More

I don’t think they will be at their best in October as it will be autumn but I imagine autumn will have a beauty of its own. We visited in April (spring) and all the bulbs were in full bloom. The water Lillie’s only flower... More

My tour left from the ParisCityVision office, 2 Rue des Pyramides (Metro Tuileries or Pyramides). I think that the only challenge in booking the same day would be availability -- my buses were not full, but as tourism... More
