About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Y345NBwayned0 contributionsAdored our guide Claire!Absolutely adored our guide Claire. From the first few minutes, it was clear she had a deep understanding of the history of Versailles, not just facts memorized from á textbook. While the basics were covered fully, she also customized the tour to the audience (in our case, an all-American group). Due to the weather and time of year, we couldn’t spend a great deal of time outdoors , but she made up for that and then some on the inside tour. I would definitely recommend Memories tour company and Claire to anybody else who’s looking for a meaningful tourWritten 9 December 2024

- Jessica B0 contributionsGreat way to experience D’OrsayChristina gave a great tour, learned so much! She is really cheerful and professional. It was very interesting to learn about Impressionism, and to get some details and education that one could not get on their own.Written 7 December 2024
- supremecourt250 contributionsVIP Catacombs Semi-Private Tour!Tristian was such an excellent tour guide! This is absolutely the way to go, seeing parts of the Catacombs that are closed off to the public. Tristian was so knowledgeable and has decades of experience to share. He took great pictures for us and translated all the significant signs. Truly a one of a kind experience. Highly recommended!Written 3 December 2024

- Phil B0 contributionsVersailles , more than the hype.Right from the start everything worked like clockwork. The meeting at the cafe was a very logical spot, along with many others on the tour we enjoyed breakfast. Having arrived early enough to enjoy the well appointed cafe. From there on everything flowed with our initial guide greeting and informing us about the adventure ahead. Sadly, only people from the USA needed to be told more than twice. The train journey led us to the grand forecourt of Versailles. Here we meet our Palace tour guides, being broken up into smaller groups , and equipped with bluetooth ear pieces ,we proceeded into the Palace. (Skip the que Sir) Our Guide “Humberto” was fantastic. Informative, personable, and always in view. It gets very busy inside the palace , there are dozens of tour groups doing exactly what you are doing. No matter, Humberto was always on the ball. Very experienced and informative knowing how to manage these situations, we missed nothing. He really knew his stuff and deserved his tip. (As Australians we generally do not tip, unless the service is well above average or better. Well done Humberto! ) I can only recommend this tour based on our experience with the guide we had. However, the luck of the draw should still deliver a great day out. The guided tour finishes in the gardens where you are issued your all lines train ticket to return home. You can then stay as long as you please to enjoy the whole experience over again . As usual you exit via the souvenir shop, There are some tempting items. We are very pleased we booked this tour via TripAdvisor . It was one of four we pre -booked for our short stay in Paris . Highly recommend.Written 20 November 2024

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor and a sincere love of art, which was a pleasure to be aroundWritten 14 November 2024
- jgp19790 contributionsExcellent Tour, highly recommend!Berrick and Caroline were both amazing. I was concerned taking the train (we walked everywhere or took ubers for our entire trip) but Berrick made the entire process extremely smooth. We felt very comfortable in his hands as he guided our group to the train station, in the train and walking to the palace. Caroline was also an amazing tour guide. Her knowledge of the palace is outstanding and she knew how to navigate around the crowds so our group was not stuck with the mobs. She answered many questions and was very kind and friendly. I highly recommend this tour and it was well worth the money spent.Written 12 November 2024
- 38winelover0 contributionsBeautiful way to experience the Versailles💕This is why we book tour through TripAdvisor. This tour, we had 2 guides. One to guide us to Versailles and the other one to guide at the Versailles. Berek who guide us to Versailles was so helpful beyond and Olivier who guide at Versailles was so delightful and fun. Highly recommended!Written 11 November 2024

- 132Page240 contributionsGreat tour, excellent guides! This was by far one of the best organized tours I’ve been on. We did the half day and the tour wrapped around 1pm. The palace was great, our tour guide Johnny was extremely informative bringing along photo examples and humorous quips. While the palace was stunning (and busy as expected) the tour of the gardens was amazing. When I visit again I would just tour them as they are so impressive. Even on a foggy day, views were spectacular. The transfer from Paris to Versailles was also great. Berrick gave a great intro to the tour, clearly explained the RER, and how to find our way back. We stayed after the tour wrapped and walked around the gardens a bit more and grabbed a bite to eat and arrived back in Paris around 4 pm (16:00). Bottom line, the Palace will be busy, the gardens are a cannot miss, and the guides are some of the best.Written 9 November 2024

We are not art/museum people, but this is a game changer. The quality of our guide ( Christina) was the next level - her passion for history and art was contagious. Our small group of six were all blown away - I can not recommend it high enough - there is no other way to see what is an overwhelming museum for the average person wondering through in a reasonable time frame without a guide , each room was described and highlight pieces explained rather than piece by piece as it would of taken days to see it all. I could ramble on forever, but just do it if you have the opportunity.

My family & I were met ahead of schedule by the energetic Christina. She was engaged and enthusiastic and had great knowledge not just of the art but also of the history of the buildings and underground fortress.
We visited many exhibits including the "Main event" one's such as Mona Lisa, Liberty, Medusas raft, Napoleon's coronation and Venus de Milo. Christina explained that we were on a limited schedule so we couldn't see everything in just 2 hours as the exhibitions we too numerous but what we saw we were happy with and would definitely recommend the tour to anyone who is after a nice length tour with the pieces d'resistances that you think of when dreaming of the Louvre then this is for you!!!
Just choose the day wisely as the weekends get extremely busy!

Thank you for your detailed review which we here happy to share with Cristina! She's right, we have to choose the works carefully on the tour, as if we wanted to show you everything in the Louvre we would need to stay for a few months! We are glad that you saw the works that you wanted and we very much appreciate your recommendation. We hope you had a fantastic stay in Paris!

We booked this tour just after New Year, which turned out to be a very busy day at the Louvre. The meeting point was easy to find and we were met by Avi our guide for the morning. Avi is knowledgeable and fun, it is very clear that he loves the art he is talking about. He was also able to get our small group swiftly through the queues and into the museum. This alone made the tour worth every cent. He provided a headset so we could easy hear the insights above the noise of the crowds. Learning about the small, interesting, funny and quirky details about the highlighted pieces made our experience fantastic!

Cecile was our guide and she was wonderful. I was running late… make sure to get there early… the plazas are huge and even when you’re “there” you have a long way to walk! They called me on my mobile and held the tour until I arrived which was very nice!
The tour takes in many of the highlights at The Louvre and Cecile gave great background info on the history of the buildings and of course on selected works inside. It’s impossible to see it all in a few hours but after the tour you can go off and explore some n your own. I highly recommend this tour as an introduction to this extraordinary museum!

We bought this so my pregnant wife could avoid standing in long lines and we could fit the museum in on a tight schedule. Unfortunately some issue occurred and it was never confirmed with the tour company, even though we received an email saying Confirmed. We only found this out when we showed up for the tour and were told they didn't have any room for us on their tour. We were offered a refund and a trivial discount on a future booking, but that in no way makes up for the mistake. We counted on these tickets and when they failed to honor them we were stuck waiting in long lines to buy tickets at the museum and missed much of the museum due to the shortened timeline.

We are very sorry to read your review and to learn that you had such a bad experience at the Louvre. We'd like to ask you to please contact us on booking@memories-france.travel as we are sure that you were not booked with us and that you have left this review on our company page in error. We can assure you that we would never have refused you and your wife, even if there had been a booking mix up we would have added you to our tour, we would have been able to do that due to the group reservations that we have. We are a small, local operator here in Paris and a small, dedicated team. We follow every tour departure closely and are in touch with our team of coordinators and guides at the meeting points during the welcome and check in process. Had you been with us we would have been alerted immediately and would have rectified the situation and added you to the tour you had booked on. I have checked all our records and we are certain that you were not booked with us.
None of the procedures that you outline above are procedures that we follow. We care very much about our guests and always do all we can to find a solution. We would very much appreciate it if you could identify the operator that you were booked with and please move this comment to their page, it's important that they see your feedback and it's damaging to us that future guests may think that we would operate in this way. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you want more information or if there is anything we can do to help. Many thanks.

I loved the way our tour guide Errel emphasized the highlights of the museum, it was on point. She is very knowledgeable and answer our questions. This is a big museum and a couple of hours will not cover it, but you can stay longer after the tour. I suggest book an early skip the line group tour to see more and be prepared to be walking up the stairs. This is a must see when you visit France.

Great tour! This shorter version was great for our small kids. They wouldn’t survive 3 hour tour. Our tour guide was wonderful, meeting point was clear. Due to rain we hit so much traffic and were late to scheduled time but tour representative was waiting for us in pouring rain and took us to our group that was already inside. Thank you! Recommend to reserve extra time for your trip to meeting point

We arrived at the meeting point, which was a very large area and didn’t seem to have any specific signs for the tour group, and couldn’t find the group. It was difficult to reach the company by phone while trying to find them. We managed to get into the Louvre despite not having tickets by explaining our situation to a Louvre staff member. We managed to get through to the tour company once inside the Louvre and they were unable to contact the person conducting the tour to locate them and did not know which route they usually took, so we could catch up. The tour company would not make an exception to put us in the next tour and would not refund our money. It was quite an unpleasant experience really. I am thankful to the Louvre staff for letting us in so we eventually purchased audio guides and did our own thing.

We are very sorry to read your comments, and that you missed the departure of your tour. I have checked our record, we have called the number you had provided on your booking at 1.31pm and again at 1.35pm to see if you were near and could catch up with the guide before it was too late.
We finally were able to reach you at 1.48pm (tour had started at 1.30pm). You told the operator that you were under the Pyramid which is not the meeting point for the tour.
The coordinator and the guide were at the meeting point from 1.15pm and the coordinator waited for you there until 1.52pm. Also, the coordinator is very visible with an orange lanyard around the neck and a bright orange cap on the head. All the other guests found her at the meeting point.
By the time we had you on the phone, the guide had already gone through the security check and was inside the Museum with the 18 other members of the group.
Our guides switch their phones off when they are guiding in order to ensure that they and the guests are not disturbed by phonecalls and messages whilst they are giving the tour.
As you saw the Louvre is a huge place and there are many different possible itineraries that guides can take to reach the works of Arts in the order of their choosing.
We do not tell them to follow a specific itinerary or a specific order to show their group the Masterpieces of the Louvre. It was then impossible for the operator you had on the phone to either reach the guide while she was delivering the tour or give you directions in this gigantic Museum knowing there are multiple possibilities of where the guide could be.
We are very sorry that you were not able to join the group, and glad that you were let in by the staff at the Louvre. We hope that you enjoyed the Museum all the same.
We hope to be able to perhaps take you back there again in better circumstances in the future.

Cecilia was a great tour guide. She showed us some of the important pieces of art in the Louvre and in a short amount of time. She has extensive knowledge of the museum and tells interesting stories to keep everyone Interested. I had no idea how large the museum was. Definitely will be going back.

Our tour guide Laurence was excellent but we had trouble hearing her through the single ear bud provided. Need double earbuds and/or headsets so we can hear her above the busy museum noise. Perhaps you can tell customers to bring their own earbuds?

Many thanks for your review and comments. We are very happy that you enjoyed your tour with Laurence, and have shared your comments with her.
With regard to the earbuds, we have been looking into alternative options for some time now. It's important to us that our guests have the best experience possible, and also that the plastic waste produced by these single-use earbuds is stopped. We hope that soon we will have a much better solution. In the meantime it's no problem to plug your own earbuds into the radio devices.
We hope that you had a wonderful stay here in Paris!
