In 1919, Germany was emerging from World War I as a defeated and humiliated nation with Munich in the grips of hyperinflation and Bavaria dominated by revolution and assassination. Out of this fertile soil of chaos rose the Nazi movement and one of history’s most powerful dictators, Adolf Hitler. Join us to explore the dark side of Munich’s history as the birth place of Nazism. Follow the growth of the movement from its first mass meeting at the Hofbräuhaus, to its failed attempt to seize power at the Feldherrnhalle. We take you to the site of mass party rallies at Königsplatz and stop in the Hofgarten to talk about The White Rose resistance movement. The tour covers all important facts and sites that played a role in the origin of this dark chapter, that ended with the beautiful city of Munich in ruins.

A detailed and very interesting walk back through a local history with staggering national and worldwide consequences. Florian was both enthusiastic and knowledgeable and drew us into the mindset of the men who through cunning, fervent belief and a big dose of luck seized

Had this tour this morning. Florian was terrific! His knowledge was deep and his energy and enthusiasm for German history was infectious. Had a lot of personal connections to the area’s history. Highly recommend this tour!

Much of Munich (80%) has been destroyed during WW2 but rebuilt. Some of Hitler's historical sites were removed by the Allies. However the guide was knowledgeable and brought photos of some of the rallies. Each stop high lighted a stage in the growth of national socialism

Our guide, Alex, was great- extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This tour was better than the others we’ve taken in Munich. Even though it was a third Reich tour, Alex pointed out other historical details of interest along our walked. It was very interesting and well worth
