If you want an easy access to both sites, this is it. Easy and comfortable. The trip to el escorial was amazing. The guide spoke a lot of history and a lot of details on the paintings. The valley was incredible and has the best views from top of the hill. There was a mass when we went inside the basillica and the guide,Amanda, did her best to gather us in. I just wished there was a little more time in the valley, just to soaked up how glorious it is.

My friend and I chose this tour at the last minute after deciding that trying to visit these sights alone would be too difficult. We were very happy with our decision. The tour was very fast, as it was only half a day, but provided just enough time to see almost everything. We had chosen to bring a lunch with us, which we appreciated as it allowed us to spend more time looking around at the Valley of the Fallen. Our tour guide was good and did a great job of providing the tour in both Spanish and English simultaneously. This tour had a lot of walking and stairs. If that is difficult for you, especially at a fast pace this tour may be difficult. We would recommend this tour.

Enrique and Ismael were very good and professional. Ismael was our English tour and he faves us a lot of meaningful information. The tour is long enough (a little over 5 hrs) to be enjoyable. One thing I will add is a snack break or tell people to bring some snacks with them.

I booked the bus tour with Julia Travel to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen in pre-COVID 2020 for a tour later that year. My tour didn't go to Spain so I asked them if I could push my tour to 2021. They were accommodating and helped me reschedule to a date in September 2021 and issued me new tickets. Then a week before my tour in September 2021 they contacted me to say they had cancelled their tour and would refund my money. I ended up going to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen with Fun and Tickets...great tour! In October Julia Travel contacted me to say they can't refund my money through my credit card and need my bank information. They claim the only way they can refund me is through a wire transfer. I hesitantly provided all my information in October and it is now January 2022 and I have yet to receive my money, and expect at this point I never will. I've contacted them repeatedly over the last 3 months and they've assured me they will refund the money every time. Don't book with this company unless you want to take the financial risk!

We enjoyed Both sites. Beautiful rooms in the Escorial. However it was unfortunate that we could not enter the basilic in the Escorial because of festivities. The valley of the Fallen is impressive but alsof sad because of its dark history. We also appreciated our guide Georg. He gave us very good information.

Andrea was an excellent and informative guide! We went to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen today. We learned a lot from her. She provided information in both Spanish and English. She was very professional. The bus driver José was very safe. All in all, a great 5 hour tour!

This tour is a must, even if it just provides you with the transport. Our guide was very knowledgable and provided a pleasant experience, I wish we could have had longer to explore, as soon as you get something to eat, drink and get a toilet break there is not much time at all. This provides a great highlight of both places and worth the trip!

Many tours are offered but I recommend taking one day and doing it on your own.
Trains from Atocha (Madrid) depart every hour and the same for the return. Train is cheap and reliable. From the train station you can walk for 20min or take a bus (1.5 Euros aprox.)

I recommend walking and exploring through town, parks and the gardens in the morning and entering the monastery in the afternoon.

I didn't pay the audio guide in the monastery and I regret it. So if you can, you should. Once you enter, keep your ticket because they ask for it in many places of the venue. It feels like you need a special ticket to see some parts but you don't. You can access everything with the general entry ticket.

Take your time and enjoy this magic place. Full of history and art.

Not recommended for small children.
