- EBabbs00Skip the booking for this rip off!We booked skip the line early entrance tickets to the Royal Pace on September 9. The guide did not show and the lineup was too long for us to tour the palace on our own. When we returned to our hotel, we found an email cancelling! too late to help us. Don't book this company. They are not reliable. The money was returned, but we lost out on the exchange.
- sierrac40000HistoryThe tour guide was very knowledgeable about everything we saw. So much history very nice and the walking wasn’t that bad.
- michaelwT7947LY00Do Athletico Stadium Tour Instead! The worst stadium tour we've been on. You only see the trophy room and sit in the stand then exit in to a massive gift shop where they try to make (more) money from you. Also there is no guide, just some posters on the wall giving information. Wish we had done Athletico instead.
- 573maggieu00Wonderful guide through ToledoThe guide was Jorge Angel. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was a great pace. We really enjoyed learning about El Greco
- Explore81163600Excellent tourthe tour was very well organized with lota of historic monuments. The tour guide shared with the fascinating stories of the history and also gave some free time to explore city on our own.
- Maria de los An... G00Interesting and spiritually sensible.Elena appeared very knowledgeable about this tour. She was also very gentle and answered our questions with good attitude and kindness. It was noticed her good personal interaction with others such as driver, and personnel of the temple and monument Thanks
- richardhZ2133RE00Too many People jammed in the palaceThe Royal Palace - beautiful but just too jammed packed with people to enjoy. My tour guide was decent. Tough to hear everything due to average reception with headset speaker, accent and all the background noise.

- H7476YMmartinn00Well-run and informativeI recommend the full day Toledo tour, but it is important to note that it involves a good amount of walking. Our tour guide was able to provide a great summary in Spanish and English for each location we visited and offered to answer questions once done. She also managed the group very well, making for a smooth experience.

First of all, the tour was supposed to leave at 8:30 am. We didn’t leave until 9am. 30-40 minutes into the trip , traffic was stop due to a traffic accident. All traffic was diverted and it took an hour to get back to where we started so that the bus driver could take the express lane. Instead of extending the excursion, it was cut very short. Upon arrival at Avila, we literally had 30 minutes to see the wall . Part of the time was taken to distribute the headsets. The tour guide should have distributed them while stuck in traffic instead of taking the little time we had. It was so rushed, you couldn’t enjoy the town of Avila. Back on the bus we head to Sergovia. Upon arrival, we’re told our free time/lunch was only a hour instead of he 90 minutes advertised. We literally saw the aqueduct for a minute before lunch. After lunch we toured the outside of the basilica and finally spent quality time visiting the Alcazar of Segovia. Overall, we didn’t not get the time advertised . It was to be a 9 hr tour, we got 8 hrs, which included all the delays. I feel the company should have extended the time instead of shortening the tour. For the service we received, it was not worth the money.

Dear MsChinita,
Thank you for taking the time to share this review,
I regret to learn the inconveniences you experienced on the beginning of the Ávila and Segovia tour,
Even though we strive to provide excellent service and keep the tour punctual, the start can be affected by unexpected circumstances such as the ones on the day of your tour.
I regret this situation happened on your tour, please bear in mind the duration of the tour can not be extended since most of the attendants usually have later appointments to attend on arrival in Madrid.
On a more positive note, I am glad you were able to take in the beauty in these two exceptional cities.
Sincerely,

The tour guide was excellent, our guide Susana shared interesting facts as soon as we boarded the bus and as we were approaching our sites. I speak and understand both English and Spanish and she shared equally in both languages. Both my wife and I highly recommend this tour both Avila and Segovia were extraordinary.I loved the story of Reina Isabella’s portrait in Alcazar and why most of figures didn’t have eyes. The bus seemed new and the air conditioning was welcome since it was so hot. Susana and Carlos were top notch and our driver Patricio got us everywhere safely. QUE VIVA ESPAÑA!!!

A well organized, informative, fun tour of Ávila and Segovia. Our tour guides Jorge and Susana and our driver Marcello were personable and knowledgeable and they kept us on schedule -- without making us feel rushed. We were a larger group so they split us into English and Spanish walking tours when we arrived at each city. I am so glad I decided to do this day trip from Madrid. I would not have been able to do both cities on my own in a day.

We did a wonderful full day tour of Avila and Segovia with this wonderful company on the last day of August. The bus was comfortable and the driver did a great job. The three tour guides Rafael, Carlos and German were excellent and provided great history with appropriate interjection of humour. They also made sure everyone knew what was happening. We had German giving the English group part of the tour- he was excellent with his knowledge but this was enhanced by his dry sense of humour. A long day touring but worth every bit

We went on this tour with a male guide today (name withheld unless requested). His knowledge of the trip was very good and for the most part understandable. However at one point he asked if everybody had understood what he had said and I had to say no I really had not. He explained what he had meant and that was fine. It truly was a matter of his pronunciation and my hearing. He did not take too kindly to being told he was not understood. It was a warm day and a lot was happening. However he followed up the explanation by making personal remarks about how I was not paying attention and was smiling and not always looking at him. I was shocked as were my travelling companions and we all agreed that he had gone too far. I did not challenge him at the time. At the end of the tour I called him aside and explained that I thought his personal remarks were unprofessional and that I was going to complain to his company JULIA TRAVEL. I went to their offices immediately afterwards and told them what had occurred. They did not believe what I said and told me that he was merely giving me instructions. It turns out he had gotten to their office first. I was told that if there was an issue between the guide and I that I should have sorted it out myself. I am extremely disappointed with this and feel unheard and discredited. I will not use the company again

This full day tour was well narrated in both English and Spanish. Manolo, our guide, repeated everything exactly in both languages. He was extremely knowledgeable about the cities and their character. The tour was paced well. We had a very good sense of both cities and never felt rushed. We saw everything as promised and had time to explore Segovia on our own after lunch. It was a great day out, and we were fortunate to have fantastic weather. I highly recommend this tour as an excursion from Madrid.

We had a lovely day outside Madrid seeing two small towns, Avila and Segovia. Our guide was very skilled at giving a bilingual explanation as we completed walking tours in each town. We had a very short time in Avila...only walked the wall for 20 min after our group time--not enough to go completely around wall nor see St Teresas church. In Segovia, we had more time to walk about for lunch etc. Recommend grabbing a traditional pastry in limon y minas, tour the catherdral and wander the streets. We then toured the palace as a group which was interesting too.

The tour started with a broken bus. Then all of a sudden the bus was ok so we left. Because we started late we were rushed through the whole tour as if it was our fault we didn’t keep up with the original schedule. I barely understood what was explained in English, the restaurant selected for the lunch was terrible, and we barely had time to take pictures in most of the places as we were rushed. I found Jorge rude, terse and dismissive. Javier was nice. Avila and Segovia are pretty but better organization and guides needed.

Dear htoshkova,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review,
I regret to learn about the inconveniences you experienced at the beginning of the Ávila and Segovia tour with our bus, even though the buses are frequently examined this type of issue might appear on the day of the tour.
Please bear in mind, the duration of the tour can not be extended when this happens, as most of our customers have other appointments on the return to Madrid,
Regarding your comment in one of our guides, we will take them into account but it must be pointed out that it is surprising as we receive daily nice comments about his performance,
I appreciate learning that you were satisfied with one of our guides,
Sincerely,

We went with Jorge and Macarena (our driver was Marcelo) and the tour was amazing. I loved learning about the historical sites in Avila and Segovia, but my favorite part was going through the Alcazar of Segovia. Both cities are incredibly rich in history and I would recommend the full day tour to anyone who has an interest in Spain's Roman and Arab history.
The food in Segovia is also fantastic!

The trip was amazing! Well paced, with time for rest room breaks, coffee breaks and souvenirs. The lady tour guide was incredible with history and details. The bus driver was also amazing, making us all comfortable during the bus ride. We took the optional lunch and it worked for us because it saved us time to pick where to eat. It was a 3 course meal with suckling pig and lamb as main course. My 9 yr old is a picky eater but the restaurant changed his menu to accommodate him as well for no charge. Overall, i highly recommend this trip. There will be a lot of stairs so thats something to consider.

Hi, was it hard to find the starting meeting point? Was the drop off point as advertised? As our hotel is 20mins outside Madrid, we would like to pre-book our taxi to the meeting point and from the drop off location back to hotel.

As others already mentioned Julia's Travel was very easy to find. You will go directly to their office and not awaiting vans. When the group is ready you will walk down the street to your van. I recommend getting there 20-30 minutes early. there are other tours leaving at the same time. i would recommend getting the add-on meal, we didn't and regretted it because they made the tour guests a priority and we lost time ordering off the menu.

I am considering this tour only because transportation can be tricky if trying to do these two towns in one day.
Was there enough time to see the cathedrals, wall and Alcazar or did you wish you had more time?

I thought there was plenty of time for both towns, not much free time in Avila but I felt there was enough time spent there. If you opt out of the lunch in Segovia , you have plenty of time to wander around.

Does this tour include admission to the Cathedral de Segovia?

Well, our tour guide took us into the Segovia Cathedral during the walk through historical Segovia from the Roman Aqueduct to Alcazar. We did not pay for the admission, apparently, the tour guide/company has prior arrangement with the Cathedral or its staff. It is a very quick tour lasting about 20-30 minutes.
