We just wrapped up a great day in Toledo, Spain with our amazing guide, Javi. The pre-trip communication was excellent and our driver was on time and had some helpful tips. The day was starting out foggy so they adjusted on the fly which allowed us to have time at the end of the day for a panoramic view after the sun came out. Javi’s wealth of information and a dose of humor with each story really added to the day. Pretty much everyone in Toledo knew him by name and he took us to many hidden gems. There are literally underground hidden sites from the Moorish settlements in the 12th century that many travelers miss without a guide like Javi who has a key and knows the location. The highlight of the day was the guided tour of the Cathedral of St Mary of Toledo. Again, we would have missed out on many fascinating details without Javi. I highly recommend this tour. Advice; book your lunch ahead, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared to take a lot of Instagram-worthy pics.

We had a great drive today with Guillermo to and from Madrid to Toledo. He is very professional and speaks very good English and made sure our ride was comfortable.
Natalia made sure to plan our day perfectly so we were able to see all the sites without rush. We have 3 children 13 and younger that do not speak any Spanish. Natalia speaks perfect English and went out of her way to ensure my kids had an unforgettable day. She helped us avoid the places filled with tourists and showed us the places the locals like to visit. She should be mayor of Toledo as everywhere we went everybody knew her. Thank you Natalia for making a day our family will never forget.
I highly recommend this tour for families with young kids that do not speak Spanish, it was so much fun.

Our guide, Javi, provided an excellent 3 hour walking tour of this ancient and beautiful city. A native of Toledo, Javi is a knowledgeable historian who speaks impeccable English. He calibrated our tour perfectly with an initial stop for churros, chocolate and coffee, followed by stops for photos at special vantage points for the best vistas of the city, a walk through the cathedral, the old Jewish quarter and even a true insider’s climb down spiral stairs to see an ancient well. When he delivered us to a charming restaurant for lunch al fresco, we were sorry to say good by. His colleague, Pablo, was very prompt in all communications leading up to the trip. And we enjoyed getting to know our driver, Javi, who picked us up at our Airbnb and brought us to Toledo. Highly recommend this experience.

I booked a day trip to Toledo with transfer to and from my hotel in Madrid with two of my friends in April 2023. We had an absolutely incredible day visiting Toledo. Our driver and guide were both named Javier and they were both amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided excellent insight into the rich history and culture in Toledo. He was flexible with our time and provided great recommendations for lunch (we had an excellent lunch at Restaurant La Cave) as well as a rooftop bar (La Azotea de Carlos) where we are able to enjoy cocktails after our walking tour. He also recommended we stop for coffee at il Cappuccino, which was phenomenal! We were able to take siestas on our drive back to Madrid and we all thought this day trip was one of the highlights of our travels thus far.
We all highly recommend Javier and this tour while you are visiting Spain.

Our day in Toledo was one of the most memorable and special experiences we have had on our trip to Spain! We feel blessed to have had the Javier and Javier dynamic duo! Javier picked us up at our hotel with a big smile and filled our ride with great conversation and lots of fascinating info on the area. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and a great driver! Upon arrival in Toledo, he delivered us to Javi who completely superseded our expectations. Every moment of the tour came from his heart. From Toledo and born into a family of professional guides, Javi has a passion for the city and it is contagious! A few different times throughout the day Javi pulled out a set of keys and unlocked a secret cistern or underground synagogue and he guided us through places we would never have known existed! There is no question that will go unanswered on this tour and Javi is as warm and friendly as he is knowledgeable. Don’t miss this tour!!

We read about the annual Corpus Christie parade and reached out to Pablo to get advice on how best to watch the parade and enjoy a day trip out from Madrid. He was so friendly and helpful and planned the absolute best day for us. Our guide for the day, Javier, treated us like family. He arranged for a private balcony viewing spot for us, booked us a lovely lunch spot and then walked us through a detailed tour of the historic Jewish quarters and beautiful cathedral. Throughout our time together, Javier enthralled us with stories of the history of Toledo and his knowledgeable and engaging charm made the day really fun and educational. Along the way, he even (literally) unlocked several hidden doors to show us the secret underground world of Toledo. It was astounding to see these hidden gems that are not in any guide books. We were travelling with two young children and Javier adjusted the tour to engage our children and paced it perfectly for us. When he heard it was my daughter’s birthday, he even surprised us with a small cake and candle when we stopped for churros to escape from the hot sun. The transfer from Madrid and back with Gustavo was so smooth as well. We couldn’t have found a better team to introduce us to Toledo! I wish I could give a 10 star review!

Our trip to Toledo was spectacular, just like the city. I had forgotten about the masterpieces by El Greco, Titian, Velasquez and Goya that can be found in the Cathedral and a nearby church. Our guide and driver, both named Javier, were friendly, knowledgeable and responsive to the needs of septuagenarians. Highly recommend.

Javi was among the best tour guides that we have experienced among all of our travels. We enjoyed our private tour because of Javi’s knowledge and love of the art and history of his native Toledo. His insightful explanations gave us a feel and understanding of Toledo’s majestic history, architecture and art. His detailed explanation of El Greco’s The Burial of the Count of Orgaz was an educational experience in which Javi pointed out the paintings within the painting in a way that illuminated El Greco’s genius.

We had an amazing time in Toledo with Javi, our tour guide… and at the end of our tour… a friend. We’re group of 5 and it was our second time in Toledo. Our experience was completely different from our previous. Javi was born and raised in Toledo and is proud to show his guests why…. We can understand why! Aside from all the must visit places and art, he also shared with us many things that reflects why he love the city so much… special and “hidden” places only he can immerse you in. We highly recommend Javi if you’d decide to spend time in Toledo. The tour was personal and engaging. We’ve all learned a lot about the rich history of Toledo and made a new friend! Thank you Javi!!!

Our tour was seamless. Javi messaged the day before and we connected on WhatsApp. Javi confirmed our driver Jose would pick us up from our hotel and drive us to the meeting point in Toledo to meet him.
From there we were taken to the most breathtaking view points on the outskirts of the city before driving into the historic city itself for a couple of hours walking.
We had a couple of ideas of where we wanted to go in Toledo but need not have bothered researching as Javi already had them on his list. Javi adapted the tour for the 38 degree heat we had that day and we did all the walking first. We went to so many treasured places and even some secret places you can only see with Javi.
Javi booked us into a fabulous place for lunch and we finished our tour at the Cathedral - honestly the most beautiful cathedral I’ve ever been into.
We slept most of the way home in the comfort of our air conditioned mini van in Jose’s safe hands.
Please do this tour. It will be one of the highlights of your trip.
What you need to know: Where comfortable sneakers or shoes for walking. Bring water. Be prepared for cobblestone footpaths that are sometimes shared with the few cars that have access to the city. The city is built on a hill. It’s a decent gradient from around 5% to 10% at times. A couple of small steeper gradients but they’re over in a flash. You will feel virtuous and enjoy your lunch more!
But once up it’s all down hill!

We (group of 5) wish to book the $600 5-6 hour private car Madrid to Toledo tour on either 12/31/22 or 1/1/2023. Is either day better in terms of things being open, availability of drivers/tour guides, crowds, etc. Once you let us know, we will quickly book the trip.
