- For this Amalfi Coast cruise, make your own way to the Positano port. Hop aboard your boat, and get ready for an exciting day of swimming, snorkeling, and exploring. Cruise by Conca dei Marini, the Emerald Grotto, the whitewashed houses of Praiano, and the Furore fjord. Your guide knows the best hidden coves to go to. Stop in a cave, and take a dip in the fresh spring water. Afterward, your boat docks at Amalfi. You can either explore Amalfi on your own or opt to go to the resort town of Ravello by bus. Either way, you can enjoy your free time without being rushed. Once it’s time to meet up with your group, get back on your boat. If there’s enough time, your tour stops at another secluded cave for a dip in the water. Your tour ends back the Positano port.

When we got on board, there were snacks and Prosecco and drinks. We explored some awesome places and Carlo explained what everything was, sharing fun local tips along with geographical and historical information. He was great about letting us do whatever we wanted—a quick stop in Amalfi for gelato, a swim in a beautiful area, he even took pictures for us in the many beautiful places. I would definitely do this again and request Carlo the next time I am here and would recommend to anyone looking for an awesome day!

What a happy ending as it ended up being our highlight of our trip. The boat was beautiful and we were met with smiles from everyone we met. We had the pleasure to have Carlo as our skipper, he was so service minded and took the best pictures. He served some yummy Prosecco and played good music while taking stops along the coast to tell us everything we would like to know about the history of the coast. Elizabeth was so kind to communicate with me the day prior and update me on whether the tour was able to happen. Our captain Saulo was so kind and made our day on the water amazing. We had a great group of individuals too, I went with my sister on the tour and everyone else in our group were couples (just to give you can idea). We stopped a few times to swim, take pictures and enjoyed a few drinks on board. Exploring Amalfi was also fun, although it was very busy and to be honest we were ready to go back on the boat because it was so fun and relaxing on there! Truly a great caring company and I highly highly recommend booking!

We were able to stop in many great spots for a swim and they made reservations for our lunch at a boat accessible only restaurant for us. Their saying you come as a client leave as family is so very true. We will 100% be booking with Bluestar again! You haven’t seen the Amalfi coast until you see it from the sea!

Great tour and tour company. The day started out very rainy and Blue Star offered us a full refund but we bought ponchos and decided to go for it. So glad we did. The rain stopped 5 minutes into the tour and we ended up having a lovely day. It was a little overcast but calm water and comfortable temperature made it a very nice day. Fabio and Gianfranco were terrific tour guides and boatmen and had us laughing and joking all day. We opted for an hour or so in Amalfi and lunch at a boat up restaurant, which turned out to be a great decision. Amalfi was pretty crowded and the lunch was really nice and quiet and had a great view. All in all a great day. I would definitely do this tour again.

The check-in was quick and the desk was easy to find. The boat was comfortable and our captain for the day was friendly and knowledgeable of the area.
It was a smooth ride with a few stops along the way for those who wanted to swim.
Whilst in Amalfi enjoying the free time, we tried the recommended bakery by Elisabeth and it did not disappoint.
It was a great way to see the amazing sites of Positano to Praiano and we were blessed with great weather and calm seas.
If you aren’t staying in Positano, allow 10-15 mins to walk down to the boat.

We had such an amazing day on the water with blue star! The boat picked us up at the main pier and was super spacious with 10 guests on board. We had debated doing a private tour but I’m glad we didn’t as everyone onboard was lovely. We boated along the gorgeous coast line and got to stop and swim in caves. We did stop in Amalfi for an hour and then had the option to go to a boat-access only restaurant nearby which we highly enjoyed. Our skipper was great and kept the good vibes going.
The boat provided towels, water, beer, Prosecco and some snacks. Overall the day was lovely and we’d definitely recommend

Our shared boat tour was fantastic. Twelve guests on board and there was plenty of room for everyone in either sun or shade. Towels and water provided. As well as a small glass of Prosecco on the way over and a limoncello on the way back. We stopped twice to swim and even though it wasn’t a very warm day some of us went in anyway. The Emerald Grotto was an option and was 10 euro per person. Our skipper was Mario and he cranked the music up on our way back which was fun. Elisabeth was great with communication and everything went smoothly. 5 star - loved it!

Elizabeth was really helpful and responsive. We are so glad we went with blue star as they are really professional. Our boat driver was Nicola, and he really made our boat ride very pleasant. We enjoyed all the snacks + drinks on boat. Towel was also provided for those who swam. Overall, very great experience!

The views were unbelievable, you can't go to Italy without seeing the coast, and the smaller group was the best part! I met some amazing new friends, and even though the weather turned bad on the way back, everyone still had the best time.

The planning and organization of this trip was perfect! I loved that it was not rushed and we have time to do everything in the schedule comfortably. The swim spots were amazing, and even though I went alone, the captain was so kind to help with pictures! The boat was also well equipped with beers, soft drinks, water, snorkelling head gear and towels. I loved the stops at Emerald Grotto and the 3 hours to explore Amalfi town too. Would definitely recommend!

We will be coming in on a cruise ship to the Naples Port and be there from for 12 hours. How far is this boat from the cruise ship terminal, how do we get to your boat and what time does it leave and return so we don't miss boarding our cruise ship on time? Also, we will be there October 22nd. Any weather concerns for that time of year?

Naples is at least a one hour drive from Sorrento (where we stayed), and from there, Positano (where the boat leaves from) is another hour. You would have to hire a private driver to pick you up and take you directly there in order to be sure you can catch the boat, and that all depends on when you dock, the departure of the Small Boat Tour, etc. It's doable if you can get all that in order. You may just want to hire a driver to take you Positano and spend the day there on the beach. Then you can take the public SITA bus back to Sorrento, and catch the local train to Naples. It may be easier and less stressful with your time frame. We did a scooter tour in Naples when we went there (via train). We were passengers, not drivers, and it was really nice. It's also a beautiful city to see. They have catacombs too, but they were closed the day we went.

Hi - Is it necessary to book tickets for this tour in advance? I will be visiting the Amalfi Coast for four days in July. I'd like to do a boat tour, but would also like to be flexible about which day we go to make sure there is good weather.

I'm not sure. We booked everything in advance and just got lucky. I don't know how many boats they operate. The road to Positano from Sorrento (where you meet the boat) was closed the day before our tour due to a fire on the highway, and there was no way to even get there. Luckily everything was open when we needed it to be. The weather forecast should be pretty accurate within a 4 day period, so you can probably book it at least a few days in advance. Renting a scooter, on the other hand, can be done at the last minute because of the inventory.
