Overview
At the Vatican, it can be a challenge for travelers to choose among a litany of early admission, art history, and run-of-the-mill tours. This tour stands out by stopping at rarely-visited locations, including the Bramante Staircase, Pinacoteca Gallery, and Chiaramonti Museum. Plus, you’ll get genuine skip-the-line access wherever you go, entering galleries through reserved doors and skipping security lines.
What to Expect
Meet your guide across the street from the entrance of the Vatican Museums, or near the corner of Piazza Maria delle Grazie and Via Candia if your tour is in German. Enter the galleries through a reserved door without having to wait in line. Don a headset designed to help you hear your guide clearly, and walk along nine miles of art.

Stop at the Vatican Pinacoteca and admire Caravaggio’s Deposition from the Cross, Da Vinci’s unfinished St. Jerome, and Raphael’s Transfiguration.

Continue to the Chiaramonti Museum and Octagonal Courtyard, where you have time to see the ancient sculpture, Laocoön and His Sons.

Next head to the Bramante Staircase, a rarely-visited architectural gem once used by the pope and Vatican staff. Snap a photo of the spiral staircase, then visit the Gregorian Etruscan Museum. From there, visit Raphael’s four rooms, famous for their frescoes. Make the required stops at the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.

The tour ends just outside St. Peter’s Basilica.

Fantastic! Don't see the Vatican any other way.

Our tour guide was Manuela, and she was amazing. She started the tour by telling us that if we stopped in front of every art work at the Vatican for 2 seconds, it would take us 12 years to get through! So it was clear...More

The guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We lingered to admire incredible works of art, but she kept our small group moving so we could take in as much as possible. The Bramante Staircase was a personal highlight for me. It's a very long day and...More
