Ruins of Pompeii & Mt Vesuvius Day Trip from Rome
US$140.28
Overview
While vacationing in Rome, spend time away from the big city without doing a ton of planning on a guided tour of Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. Hike to Mt. Vesuvius' crater and explore Pompeii with a guide, discovering lesser-known historical info as you go, and don’t worry about lunch or entrance fees because pizza and admission are both included.
What to Expect
Your tour of Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius starts with pickup in central Rome.

Board an air-conditioned vehicle, and make the ride over to Mt. Vesuvius. At Mt. Vesuvius, your guide leads you on a hike to the top of the old volcano. At the top, catch sight of the Bay of Naples, and sights inside the crater. Please note from late November to late March, you’ll explore the National Archaeological Museum of Pompeii instead of the short hike.

Afterward, take a break and enjoy a pizza lunch before making your way over to Pompeii—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former Roman city.

Once you arrive in Pompeii, follow your guide on a tour, and learn the history of the area. See the Forum and Teatro Grande as you go.

Your tour ends with a ride back to Rome.

awesome exoerience

We recently took a day trip from Rome to Pompeii. If you have an interest in ancient times it will blow your mind. Even the technology they came up with way back then is amazing. you have to go and experience it for yourself

It’s only a small mini bus. 16 seater. So not many folk on board even if all seats are taken. Hope that helps.

You can ride up to a certain level and not walk the rest. You can also walk up as far as you like, not going all the way to the top. There was no pressure. The walk itself is pretty steep but there are things to do around... More

I believe that in January you would not be able to go up onto Mount Vesuvius. I think they reroute the tour in the winter months. I also agree that it would be terribly cold in the winter time. The experience is so amazing... More
