Pack in a full exploration of Rome’s powerhouse past in a day with this whirlwind tour. It’s a great way to see a ton of the city’s historical highlights with a guide, and ideal for travelers who want to check off a list of attractions in a short amount of time. Visit the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain in the morning. After a break at Piazza Navona, head to the Vatican for a tour of the museums and sacred spaces.
What to Expect
Your morning starts with meeting your guide at the designated spot near the Colosseo metro station. Take the short walk to the Colosseum and make your first stop there. Then, travel up Via Sacra to the Roman Forum while your guide tells you about the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.

Head to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, with its oculus and dome, which is one of the largest unreinforced concrete domes in the world. Your guide tells you about the temple’s architecture and inscriptions.

Next make the short walk to Piazza Navona, populated by street artists, actors, and markets. Take advantage of a break to rest here before heading to the Vatican for the afternoon.

At the Vatican, tour some of the most famous sacred spaces, including the Room of the Muses, Gallery of Tapestries, Raphael's Rooms, and the Sistine Chapel. Your tour ends at St. Peter’s Square.

Your guide provides skip-the-line access to St. Peter’s Basilica if you would like to visit the church on your own.
