Small-Group Trastevere Street Food Tour
From US$44.89
Overview
Taste the food of Trastevere, the Roman district where residents and visitors alike flock to for a meal, in a small group of just 14 people. With a guide, you'll discover the pizza, street food, and baked treats that are lauded by locals while wasting no time getting lost amid the cobblestone streets. Samples are included and you'll hear recommendations for eateries to visit in your own time, too.
What to Expect
Meet your guide on Tiber Island and stroll to Trastevere, Rome's artsy neighborhood where ivy-clad cafes and restaurants spill onto the streets. Rome's answer to Greenwich Village, Trastevere comes alive in the early evening: You'll see a mix of aperitivo-sipping locals and curious tourists as you stroll.

While some tourists might not know where to go, you'll have the help of a guide to introduce you to the district's best eateries. Sample pizza, pasta, street food, and antipasti, and lick your fingers as you nibble pastries from an artisan baker.

The tour isn't all about food though. As you walk, you'll hear stories about Trastevere history and discover landmarks, such as Piazza Trilussa, the Basilica di Santa Maria, and more.

I liked this tour a lot since it was a good mixture of guided city tour and food tour. My personal highlight was the visit of Santa Maria in Trastevere, possibly one of the most beautiful churches in Rome and a church which you would...More
