- Michael M00Excellent. Professional.Exceptional experience. Very knowledgeable. Our tour guide was Marcos, I believe. Terrific. Some of the walk was strenuous, but he went a pace that all could be included. Fresh, funny, and instructive.
- annflty00Wonderful and Moving Visit to the Vatican! We did the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica small group tour with Maria. She was wonderful and showed us so many things we would have missed on our own. We were very moved by the Chapel! All because of Maria and her knowledge of Art History!
- 250kal00Once in a lifetime experienceThis was our very first visit to Rome and visiting Vatican City has been a bucket list item for a long time. We were met by our guide, Santi, Who was extremely kind and informative. There was so much to learn, and he was extremely wonderful at showing us and highlighting the most important features. Santee was not only a wonderful tour guide, but help me facilitate a really special surprise for my fiancée! Definitely recommend this tour!!!
- Leicestershirebloke00Great tour of the Vatican and St Peter’sWe took the guided tour of the Vatican and St Peter’s Basilica. Our guide, Joy, was extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. We learned a lot about the history of the Vatican and Rome more generally and she added a lot of great detail about the history of the Sistine Chapel paintings and the collections of art and sculptures inside the Museum and St Peter’s. I would recommend this tour and our guide to anyone with a genuine interest in learning more about Roman art and history
- B8580IHbradm00Vatican CityGreat tour. Our guide was extremely informative and very friendly. We were late and he waited for us. We felt very grateful and left wanting more. Highly recommend it
- John6272100An Excellent TourAn excellent Vatican tour. Well worth paying to skip the queue - who wants to stand there for two hours to get tickets? Efficiently run and easy to find the meeting point. Our guide Marco was outstanding - knowledgeable, full of interesting facts and funny with it. Heartily recommend.
- Carole M00Go go go!The tours of the Vatican, The Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica we’re absolutely incredible. Our tour guide Lorenzo was very kind, knowledgeable, and also really funny! We arrived at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, got stickers assigning us to a group number, and waited until the tour guides called us by group number to rally us up. Not having to wait in the super long lines to get into the Vatican was awesome and well worth it. Once inside, Lorenzo gave us a history brief of the chapel and the basilica and explained the history and meaning behind the construction and paintings. This happens before we enter because once inside the chapel, there is no time or space to be able to do this. Overall, this was a great time and for anyone who doesn’t want to wait forever in line or do a “self guide,” I would recommend booking this tour.
- Donna F00Not to miss this Vatican tour! This is a “MUST DO” tour! It was GREAT! We lucked out with not only a guide (santi) that was knowledgeable, but had personally that made the experience stellar! The tour was insightful, Santi was able to show us parts of the Vatican that others didn’t have access to. Overall- this tour won’t disappoint!
- BillB336800Vatican and St. Peters tour 3h long, but highly recommended (and if you're lucky you get to know Guiliano)We had the Vatican and St. Peters tour and were lucky to have Guiliano as our guide: highly competent, helpful and sympathetic! The tour enabled us to skip the line from the museum to Vatican, which saved us probably two hours. This to us was very much worth the extra money. All in all I definitely recommend this tour and especially Guiliano.
- Billie190400Worst Tour EverWorst tour we have ever done. Skip the line, what a joke. Vatican overcrowded yet they still sent groups in. Tour guide flustered from the start. Hard to understand her English as she rushed us through without time to look at anything or photo opportunities. Rushed through the Sistine Chapel wit no time to admire it. So many people there they would have a disaster if there was an incident. People would have been trampled. My advise, don’t your time or money. 3 hours of my life wasted lining the pockets of the Roman Catholic Church
- B1801OLrosem00Take this tour - fun and fascinatingTake this tour! Our tour guide, Marco, made the three hours fly by with interesting facts and humor. Highly recommend as a tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and easy admission to St Peter's. In addition to the great tour, the price was well worth it to avoid waiting in several lengthy lines.
- P4895VJkarent00Won’t disappointThis was a great tour the guide was very knowledgeable heard nightmares of other companies would definitely always use trip advisor from now on had to use customer service on another tour and they were excellent Highly recommend skip the line especially in August in Italy it’s the way to go !
- jamesrE9249MI00Great TourAn amazing tour! Skipping the line was the first benefit. The ordinary line was over three hours long.. The first person on that line arrived at 6:30AM… We arrived on line at 9AM and was in and beginning our tour with Giovanni by 9:30AM. Giovanni was knowledgable, friendly and answered every question anyone had.. I would pay the cost just to skip the line… I was even able to catch a mass at noon at St. Peter’s Basilica.
- FellowTraveler59423000Fabulous Vatican/ Sistine Chapel tourOur tour guide was very efficient in guiding us through the Vatican snd the Sistine Chapel. He was informative and entertaining. He provided us with the opportunity to take pictures but also kept a good pace. I would highly recommend this tour!
- Jjayantn00Your first experience in Rome should be this!Rome is really beautiful. We spent time at the Vatican museum and Sistine Chappel yesterday All.that we heard or read doesn't match to actually visiting. The guide was very passionate in explaining the history behind different paintings and sculptures. It brought the experience to better light. Really amazing!

Found this guided Vatican tour on TA in January before heading to Rome in early February. I normally hate the idea of being part of a ‘paddle board’ led tourist group but given the scale and breadth of what you can see, for an amateur like me on a first visit to Rome and it’s sights, a guided tour seemed like an essential piece.
No problem finding the starting location. In a group of about 20 people from all nationalities but our guide Guillian made all welcome.
Pre corovirus the skipping the lines aspect appealed and it really worked and saved a huge amount of unproductive queue time.
I’m not going to spend time on the attractions themselves since there is so much there that a few hours and fleeting looks can’t possibly do justice to.
The tour provided ‘Vatican’ headsets (pleased to see the Catholic Church continues to master its centuries old experience of money making ) and these enabled Guillian to communicate with us well. All worked and he was excellent - clearly knew the subjects and points of interest well. All the tours have to work and follow a pretty prescribed time and route and you need to be aware of this. The tour gives you a taster and if a particular part/piece attracts your interest you can return to spend more specific time at your choosing on a later date.
We had 20mins in the Sistine Chapel which is breathtaking and then the tour cheers concluded outside St Marks. We carried on independently to view the Bascillica which is stunning. I’d recommend going down to the crypt where you can see the remarkable tombs of the previous popes.
Both my partner and I would really recommend this experience and hope that the team will stay together and be able to carry on post Corona...

We did a tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica lead by Guiliano who was an excellent guide and provided an interesting and insightful commentary. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to see the highlights of these places within a few hours. The tour kept my 11 year old son entertained and engaged which was quite an achievement!

Glad we decided to skip the line as we went on New Year’s Eve and the line into the Vatican was five to six hours long. There was about a 20 minute walk to the Vatican and then about a 20 minute security line wait.
Since there is no talking within the Sistine Chapel Giuliano gave the run down of the paintings outside the tour office. This ended up saving us time since we didn’t have to wait in line within the Vatican to hear the description.
We got our headsets once in the Vatican Museum. Giuliano did a great job explaining the history and meaning of all the art we walked past and he was easy to understand through the headset. He also did a great job of wrangling us and keeping us together among a huge mass of other visitors.
Very grateful to Giuliano and this tour for helping us to see the sights while on a short time budget.

Giulliano was our tour guide for the day and he was super informative, friendly and really considerate to everyone in the group as the age range and ability was very varied. At the starting point he went through the whole Sistine chapel so we knew what we were looking at once we got there, which as I’ve visited the Vatican before gave me a whole different outlook looking at it. He knew everything when questioned and just gave little insights that I feel most guides would not have known. Giulliano clearly loves the Vatican and his job and this comes across in all he says. The skipping the line was well worth it as the queue for St. Peter’s basilica was extremely long all day the tour jumped all of this. Would definitely recommend this tour and especially giulliano and the Vatican and all it holds is breathtaking!!!

Fantastic tour, booked this through trip advisor prior to visiting Rome and so glad we did. Stumbled across the Vatican City the day before when wandering around and the queues were huge. This got us straight in 'through the backdoor' and lots of quick access routes through the tour particularly to get you quick access to the sistine chapel. A short delay to get the headsets sorted but it was a welcome 5 minute toilet break. Our tour guide Guiliano was very knowledgeable with very good English and made the tour humorous and entertaining, this has to be the best money we spent in Rome. Book it you'll love it !!!

A brilliant tour seeing one of the holiest places on earth! Giuliano was our excellent English speaking tour guide who was clear and easy to understand. He guided us through all the security checks into the Vatican with ease. The audio guides were very helpful even if some needed replacing but that is due to the Vatican not updating the guides since 2005 to a more modern digital version but we all managed. The sights we saw are truly amazing and it’s quite a privilege to actually stand where so many popes and dignitaries have stood before in such beautiful surroundings steeped in history. There was so much to see and learn about that you end up with brain overload. The Sistine chapel was awesome. It doesn’t disappoint. How Michelangelo managed to paint all that in 9 years in total during his lifetime is inspiring. We were also lucky enough to see St Peter’s Basilica which re-opened after Covid closures. So many photo opportunities. Truly magnificent. The Vatican museum is very big and we weren’t able to stop and look at everything as there wasn’t enough time on the actual tour, however, once the tour is over, you are free to go and look at it again in more detail but to be honest, after nearly four hours of walking about in 35c heat, all you really want to do is sit down and eat and drink something which you can do inside the museum or sit outside in its gardens. I’d recommend revisiting in a cooler month and buying an solo entry ticket to the museum just to be able to take your time at your own pace to really be able to study everything and see all the artefacts. In the meantime this tour was well worth it and I’d highly recommend it. Enjoy! 😊

Took this tour 4th January 2020 when it was still really busy after the New Year. The queue for the Vatican was very very long so Skip the Line was a great way to save time.
Our guide Guiliano was friendly and very enthusiastic and full of very interesting facts about the things we were seeing.
I Would recommend this tour.
Be aware you have to be patient as entry to the Vatican involves security checks and some unavoidable delays but Skip the line meant Guiliano got us inside as quickly as he could and ensured that time spent passing through these check was kept to a minimum
Great tour. Thank you

We booked our tour guide for Vatican City through ‘viatour’ which we got an amazing tour guide, ear piece and skip the lines. Our tour guide was amazing and really knew her stuff, her name was Claire. She always got you involved and asked questions making it more fun for us while walking round. We visited all the art and sculpture galleries, which then led us the the Sistine chapel which you aren’t aloud to talk in or take pictures which we were fine with as it is honestly eye-opening and breathtaking. Vatican City is just amazing. Highly recommend anyone to go and book this excursion through ‘viatour’ or on here for made in Rome tours. If I visit Rome again which i probably will I’d go to Vatican City again 100%!

My partner and I did this tour in January and we both agree it was excellent and worth every cent! It was very well-organised with clear instructions on the meeting point and what to expect. Our guide Giuliano was fantastic and really made the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and his ten years experience really showed as he provided comprehensive context and information throughout the entire tour. My partner and I both enjoyed that the tour was completely stress-free as our guide took care of everything, including all entry points and explained how to navigate the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica. The guide also clearly knew the staff as he was able to provide access and entry at points that other groups could not. The tour can feel rushed, but this is necessary to keep up with the pace of how all tourists and groups are going through the areas. Guiliano did a great job of keeping everyone together and making sure we were all comfortable with the pace and tour. We would highly recommend this tour!

Family of 4 booked the tour and staff at the office were extremely helpful in accommodating us given we had booked for the following day when we were at rugby.
Our guide Giuliano was superb from start to finish, he didn’t have the stick with flag/scarf he took time to greet each and every one of us individually and remembered who we throughout.
We are not religious in any way, but the history of the Vatican provided by Giuliano was in depth and insightful.
Would 100% recommend the company to everyone.

Hi, I just wanted to ask; since the tour says there's a maximum of 200 travelers per group, does that mean there's one guide for 200 people or is it split into groups with multiple guides?

I’m not sure if it’s safe for pregnant women to go through metal detectors, but my mom has an implanted device and can’t go through any metal detectors. We just explained that to the guards, and they let her bypass the detector and searched her. We did this throughout Rome and airports without a problem.

Hi there. We are wishing to book a Skip the Line Group Tour of the Vatican/Sistine/St Peters tour. We see that the prices differ on varying days. Is this because there is more to offer on the more expensive days (ie: perhaps the Pope is there! :)). Could you please explain, so that we can book with confidence. Many thanks! :)

Hi,
Cant answer on the varying prices (I know that's your actual question) - I can only presume its down to peak times, number of guests on the tour or even down to which days the pope will give an audience.
For what its worth though - me and my girlfriend went on the tour mid-February and it was absolutely fantastic. We had the full tour of the basilica, Sistine chapel and museum with a guide - it was about £45 each. Honestly... well worth every penny. Our tour guide (Marco) was absolutely fantastic.
You wont get the same experience just bumbling about yourself with a headset - you cant ask a recording questions after all.
Hope you enjoy it!!

No, one you leave the premises, you may not re-enter. I even got in trouble because I did not realize that you may not leave the Sustine Chspel back area without your guide. The police were quite stern about it.

I’m from the USA and will not have a vehicle in Rome. So for transportation for Skip-the-Line Group Tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's how does that work? Do we ride all together. Is it Everyman for them self finding a way to get to Vatican to the Sistine chapel to St. Peter’s ?

You can easily reach the meeting point either by using metro or taxi. Metro is the chespest on, you can also buy 2day pass. It depends on how long you are goin to.stay in Rome.
Btw in my experience, from the destination station you can just walk to the meeting point. Just use your google map to reach the meeting point.
From there we walked together with others and our travel guide, from point to another point is just walking distance
