The Bernina Express between Switzerland and Italy is one of Europe’s most spectacular train journeys and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour whisks you across the route in one day, with everything planned ahead of time, including a coach ride to Tirano, a ride on the Bernina Express railway to St Moritz in Switzerland, free time in the Swiss resort town, and a return to Milan by coach.
What to Expect

Meet your guide in central Milan and set out on the journey to Tirano on air-conditioned coach. Soak up the scenery as you head north into the foothills of the Alps, and enjoy free time to explore Tirano.

Next, step aboard the red-painted train carriages of the Bernina Express and enjoy unbeatable views from panoramic windows. The around 2.5-hour train ride takes in one of the most impressive sections of the Bernina route, including views of Lake Como, the spiral viaduct of Brusio, and the mountains of the Bernina Pass. As you cross into Switzerland, pass snow-covered peaks, wild gorges, and Swiss Alps, before stopping at the ski resort of St Moritz.

In St Moritz, enjoy lunch (own expense), admire the alpine scenery, or stroll the historic town and browse for souvenirs.

After meeting with your guide, return to Milan by coach, where your tour ends at the departure point.

Good trip, was rushed

Our tour guide was great, and the train was great. However, you spend WAY more time in Italy than you do in Switzerland, which I felt wasn't expressed so much in the description. You spend a lot of time through Tirano, which I really didn't...More

Worth every penny/minute

The best choice for a day trip. If you like photography you will get some incredible thrills! St moritz is nothing compare to the ride there. Nature beats all mans structures. Dont hesitate! You wont regret it!

You can go to the visitor center (which is the meeting place) and ask. There would probably not be any discounted price. The tour would probably be full price even if you didn’t to return to Milan.
