Overview

Italian cuisine is so strongly regional that every city and town has its own unique specialties—and there’s no better way to discover Venice’s food and wine than under the eye of a local foodie. On this Venice food tour, sample at least 13 specialties, including wine, seafood, gelato, and “cicchetti” (Venetian tapas), as you learn about the city’s culinary culture.

What to Expect

Join your guide and small group near the Rialto Bridge and set off through the streets on foot. Start the tour with some coffee and typical Venetian pastries, before strolling through some wine bars and trying traditional Venetian drinks alongside “cicchetti” (Venetian tapas).

Sample local specialties including polenta, cured meat, cookies, gelato, and at least five types of fish as you learn the stories behind the bars and restaurants you’re visiting. Learn about Venice’s foodie history as you sample signature dishes at historic establishments, and discover how to spot good-quality gelato from a distance. Your tour will finish close to where you began.

Delicious cicchetti and more

This was a fantastic three hours of sampling the best cicchetti in Venice. Our tour guide was Anna, a solid food lover, as were we all, and her sense of humor kept us laughing all the way. She brought us to some extraordinary places that...More

Eat where the locals eat...

We love food tours....Who doesn't? We went to eight stops along our tour with Viviana, our guide. She loves what she does and is quite knowledgeable of Venetian history. Just let her know your dietary restrictions and off you go. Stops at several chichetteria, a...More

Enjoyed places we would never otherwise have gone

Our guide took us to small places full of people with only a bar barely visible; if we had found them ourselves, we would have passed them by. She had ways to navigate us in, or placed us in the alley while she went in....More

Amazing food tour with Anna

We had a food tour with Anna just a few days ago. For some reason, for that day and that time slot we were the only couple who booked the tour - so we had a private tour. Anna was great, passionate and very knowledgable...More

It was a fun tour.

Unfortunately most places were pretty packed so we had to stand outside the places we visited instead of going inside. but that added a bit of fun to the experience. I believe our tour guide was Anna. She was super sweet, very informative and fun....More

Alcohol is served during the tour and therefore geared to an adult group. I'm not sure a 7 & 10 year old would get much out of the tour guide's information or manage the walk from location to location.

The tour was just over three hours. We didn't walk that far in one go but it was mainly standing and there were stairs and bridges to negotiate as is the case wherever you go in Venice. Most of the places involved standing... More
