- G3737CVstevenn00Well worth it, great first tourWell organized and planned tour. Fat Tire Tours did a great job across the board, with clear instructions prior, organized setup at the outset, and a great tour and guide provided. Our guide was very friendly, entertaining, and also was good at keeping us safe on the tour and scooters. I wish I could remember his name, it may have been Andrea after looking at the site? This was my first time in Florence and I found the planned path to be busy, but very safe. Traffic was a concern of mine before we attended. Well worth it, you get a great feel for the city overall, and discuss the important areas with great views.
- JeanetteT47200Great family experienceWe had to reschedule from the first day of our stay in Florence to the last due to airline issues. I wish we'd been able to do it on the first day, as we learned about the city and got our bearings! A definite do again to see more of the city.
- Kristen F00Great scooter tour!Excellent guide, very knowledgeable! Scooters were comfortable and easy to use. Be prepared for some bumpy rides on the cobblestone streets of Florence. Fun way to see and learn about some of the major sites in the city.
- Rachael B00Wine tasting in TuscanyA lovely morning visiting beautiful Tuscany. Sophia our guide was great sharing her knowledge of her city and region. A lovely way to experience Tuscany with delicious wine and good.
- aal_gva00Too sweet, no reminders of water, lacked interesting facts and historyCompared to other food tours, this experience gave us a miniature experience and sample of food in Florence. Much of it could have been self-guided given the level of engagement of our guide. She was OK. She appeared tired. We had hoped for more historical understanding of the food, more interesting facts about the region, and more stories about the neighborhoods and buildings we were around which is why we participated. I also would have appreciated being REMINDED to bring my own water, have it SOLD at the meeting point Fat Tire office, or POINTED TO water fountains during the tour, because 1) it was a heatwave 2) there wasn’t water after each tasting. Regarding the sampling, it was a snapshot, which is the purpose of these tours. However, it was more sweet than it was savory. There could be more balance. The amount of food sampling provided was far less than other tours I have experienced. The only majorly interesting part was at the market place with the specialists of the oil and truffle shop. This was what they normally do, and not the guide herself. This was the most thorough and educational part of the experience that gave us insight about the world truffles a olive oil, and quality control. This we could have done ourselves without Fat Tire. Given past positive experiences with Fat Tire Bike tours in other cities, this was a bit disappointing as it did not hold up to the quality of it’s past products.
- 132braydenf00Chiara is greatChiara was a great tour guide! Very bubbly and knowledgeable. Had time for us and was so considerate with water breaks. Felt like we were riding around town with another friend.
- tobiv61700Great way to see the city's highlightsReally fun and a great way to get an information overview of the key highlights in the city. The scooters had big wheels so they were pretty comfortable.
- Peak-District-Ian00Great introduction to FlorenceGreat way to get around the very busy Firenze. Taking in all of the main attractions and a knowledgeable and friendly host. Great introduction to the city. Headsets are a great way to communicate with the whole group. Booking very straightforward and the app is helpful too. Padded shorts and gloves (Used my own) would be my recommendation and carry water. Constructive feedback for FTT - saddles are not very comfortable and group size could be smaller.
- Peak-District-Ian00Superb experience in FirenzeSuperb walking tour of Firenze looking at the culture of food, visiting some wonderful places that felt special and reduce good quality products. Hints and tips for future meals/food. Great knowledge of the tour host and very inclusive. Highly recommended.
- Steve P00!!! Exceptional!! Do not hesitateAn exceptional experience - the food was plentiful and delicious. Do not eat before the tour!! Marcia was a remarkable host, sharing info on local culture, businesses and food on this 3 hour plus tour. WOW Marcia is phenomenal!!! This tour is highly recommended, you will not be disappointed..
- ljutah00Bike ride around FlorenceWe had a wonderful bike ride of Florence. Francesca was a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable about the sites and history of Florence. I would highly recommend this adventure!
- 756tirzam00Great guide and a great tour. The battery of my e-scooter wasn't working well so i swapped with the guide and I could go full speed as well! You can see a lot more of Florence in a shoter amount of time, and up the hill for an amazing view. The guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer our questions
- kaycee243400Enjoyed it all!Brian did a great job making us comfortable on the scooters the entire time! He also gave good info and even made it pertinent to our interests!
- ScubadiverNskiier00Best bike tour to get to know Florence with Fat Tire!We had a private tour with Steffi with a small group price as the other people didn't show up! It was fun and covered a lot of ground that would have taken a long time to walk to. Very safe! Go in the morning! We did Fat Tire in Rome too, and long ago Paris and Versailles. Highly recommend! Steffi was fun and a great guide.
- benst00The views of FlorenceEnded up being a really fun morning once we got used to the escooters. Guido (our guide) was super patient about getting us through basic training and the many challenges we had. But we got there and were off and running. Worth going through the ramp up for the fantastic experience. Crossed the Arno and we up towards the Bardini gardens. The view of Florence was spectacular! Unlikely we would have walked so many steps to see it so this was the only way. Guido also took us past some of the other city squares and explained the history and context. Thanks again for being so patient - great morning!

This was a brilliant experience! So informative and Francesca was an absolute delight! Very passionate and made us all feel very well looked after. Her knowledge of architecture was so inspiring and really made the tour exceptional. It’s so worth the money - seeing the frescos up close is incredible and the view from the top is breathtaking. Full disclosure - it’s a lot of steps! But Francesca broke the journey up very well and we never once felt it was too much or that we couldn’t stop for a breather if we needed to.

This tour was amazing! Not only is the Duomo a fantastic experience, the climb to the top of the Dome provided a fabulous view of the entire city. The climb is quite a hike but the pace is slow so is manageable. We also stopped at about half way so that gave us a breather. Being at the top is worth the climb! The tour guide was fun, interesting and knowledgeable.

I was lucky enough to experience this VIP Florence Duomo climb with my millennial daughter, the experience was truly breathtaking, but ( and I’ll simply add this for those who might suffer from fear of heights or tight spaces) it’s not for the faint of heart. There are roughly 480 steps in all , some in a spiral so the trip to the top is an adventure in fitness for sure. However , there are a few strategically placed resting spots that break it up nicely , allowing you to catch your breath. Please don’t let this sway you out of making this trip to the top. The opportunity to be so very close to the frescoes on the ceiling of the Duomo was incredible , seeing the church down below was a crazy view I will likely not duplicate again in my lifetime , and of course the view from the very top , the highest point in all of Florence, is simply worth the effort. It gets a lil hairy in the last 75 or so steps to the very top , but trust me , it will be something you talk about for years to come. I heard that they only allow a small number of tourists to make this trip on a daily basis so be smart and book early. There was a very coordinated schedule among the guides , allowing these very small groups to come up and down the narrow stairways. This is bucket-list worthy , DO NOT MISS IT !

We enjoyed the actual climb. It was helpful that the organizers only had people going up or down so we were not passing people on the narrow stairs. It was a hot day (100+ Temperature) and we luckily brought fans with us which helped immensely. Being able to see the paintings by Vasari and later finished by Zuccari was amazing. When we reached the top (which took about 18 minutes) the panoramic views of Florence were breathtaking. Everywhere you look you can pick out something that you recognize (the Arno River, Piazza Michelangelo, Pitti Palace, etc.) A must do if you are able to climb.

Nora is an excellent guide that is enthusiastic and manages the time well. She shared many stories about Brunelleschi, Michelangelo, Rafael etc. This tour with Nora has been our favorite tour in Italy- full credit to Nora and the weather that held for beautiful views of Firenze from the Dome.

Highly recommend this trip! Extremely worth it to go up to the top of the Dome. The view of the Florence skyline was impeccable. We went in August, but the weather was mid-60s somehow and it made a huge difference. Our tour guide Brian was extremely knowledgeable and did a great job of pointing out the key points to visit in the city - including the Central Market (where we went for lunch)

Truly a memorable experience. A knowledgeable guide - Francesca ( sorry if I got this wrong) took us on a renaissance history lesson through the excellent museum, the baptistery and up the dome stairs. We had a delightful and informative commentary in lovely accented English. Not to be missed. Worth every cent.

This is definitely a must do for visitors to Florence.
Our tour guide Guido was knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. He explained about some of the exhibits in the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, then we went into the Duomo itself. Here is where being on the tour really came into its own. We were allowed closer to the altar than other visitors and had plenty of time to look and ask questions about the fresco on the dome.
When we did the dome climb (which is hard work) we were taken out onto a parapet about half way up. This is not something you can do if you just have a regular ticket to do the climb. The views of the city were just as spectacular as from the top, but because only our tour were out there we had loads of time to admire the views and take photos.
The other bonus was that our tickets were valid for 72 hours after our tour and included the Duomo Tower climb and entry into the Baptistery, if we wanted to do these later.
All in all a fabulous experience, and well worth the money.

This was a fantastic tour, definitely worth doing. Our guide, Valentina, was so knowledgeable and passionate about Florence. I felt like I learned so much about the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and more through her in depth story telling about the Duomo, the Baptistry, and the museum. The views of Florence were spectacular as well. A must-do. One of my favorite tours ever!

Bucket list item - check! What a marvellous experience!
Starting with getting our tickets - no problem!
Then, off we went to the Duomo Museum which contained original scaffolding which was used to build the dome, along with so much more. Our guide was wonderful and was full of knowledge. She headed us over to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, gave us our tickets and entered right away. She was continually informing us of the history of the city and the building of the Duomo.
We climbed to the first level - I was winded, but happy for the opportunity to walk outside (kinda scary as I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to heights!), but it was so beautiful and it was nice to get some air! Then we climbed higher and could view the inside of the cathedral. By the time we walked around this first level, we had enough time to get our wind back to head up for the very top of the dome. Spectacular! Outside and inside!
While walking up the spiral, there are openings that bring in light and air, so I didn’t feel claustrophobic. We are both so happy we did this guided tour and highly recommend it.
