Overview
Discover the colours and flavours of Tuscany and explore its beautiful vineyards and rolling hills. The highlights of the day will be 2 wine tastings offered in 2 Chianti wineries where you will taste the best Chianti red wines together with some Tuscan finger food. Head later towards Greve in Chianti, one of the most famous and best known Italian Chianti wine villages, with its main square full of antique shops and cafes.
Highlights
  • Round-trip coach transportation from Florence makes sightseeing simple
  • Enjoy tasting sessions and tours at two Tuscan wineries
  • Explore the medieval town of Greve at your leisure
  • Complement your wines with traditional Tuscan snacks
What to Expect
This afternoon tour kicks off when you meet your guide in front of the Santa Maria Novella train station in central Florence. Board a comfortable coach and leave the city behind as you head into the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside.

The region is famous for producing Chianti, and you’ll begin by visiting a rustic winery and discovering the secrets behind this classic Italian red wine. Learn more about the winemaking process, indulge in a wine tasting, and try classic Tuscan snacks like bruschetta and cheese.

Next, climb back on board your coach and head to the medieval town of Greve, located in the heart of the Chianti region. You’ll have time at your leisure to wander its piazzas or enjoy a nibble and a glass in one of its cafes (own expense).

The tour continues with a stop at a second area winery, where you’ll have the opportunity to admire the vines and olive groves, partake in additional tastings, and otherwise soak up the scenery. Finally, board your coach and return directly to Florence.

Definitely one of the more economical wine tours and you get what you pay for. Expect big groups (ours was a bus full of people ~50). The vineyards were fine and informative but it was very discouraging to have to wait an extra 20 minutes...More

This wine tasting tour takes about 5-6 hours in total, but out of this there is only about 30 minutes at each winery and even less time getting info about each specific place. If you seek information about the wineries, their way of making wine...More

Our tour consisted of about 25 people give or take. I think it depends on the day you go to be honest!
