Black Forest and Rhine Falls Day Trip from Zurich
US$80.35
Overview
Travel into the heart of the breathtaking Black Forest region on this day trip from Zurich, with a stop at Rhine Falls. You’ll cross into Germany from Switzerland to visit the charming town of Titisee-Neustadt, where you’ll visit the locally renowned Drubb watchmaker to see how cuckoo clocks are made. Enjoy free time here with the option to take a boat ride on Lake Titisee. Later, witness Europe’s largest waterfall tumbling into the Rhine River. Enjoy informative commentary from your guide and a round-trip ride by luxury coach.
What to Expect
Settle aboard your luxury coach, departing central Zurich for the approximate 1.5-hour drive north to southern Germany. Watch the scenery slip past, including Lake Schluchsee, as you approach the picturesque town of Titisee-Neustadt, situated on the edge of Lake Titisee in the heart of the Black Forest.

Your guide makes a stop in town for about two hours, starting with a visit to the prestigious Drubb clockmaker. Step inside the shop and learn about the traditional art of producing cuckoo clocks, the area’s renowned export.

During your free time, explore the town independently. Stroll at your leisure around Lake Titisee or take an optional boat ride. Perhaps head to a cafe to taste the region’s signature chocolate and cherry cake, Black Forest Gateau — aka Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. (Activities and food are your own expense.)

When it’s time, meet up with your guide and re-board the coach for the drive south back toward Switzerland. You’ll journey through the spruce forests of Lenzkirch until you reach the Upper Rhine region. Before returning to Zurich, disembark at the impressive Rhine Falls to watch the waters of the Rhine River crashing down a 75-foot (23-meter) drop. During a 45-minute break here, stroll around admiring the scenery and posing for photos.

Your 7-hour tour concludes with drop-off at the starting point in the evening.

Terrible Day Trip...Ruined My Vacation

The trip is advertised as a trip to the black forest and the Rhine falls. The black forest part of it is a glorified tourist trap. The tour guide continuously advertised multiple shops where they most likely receive kickbacks. Watch shops, restaurants, cuckoo clock makers,...More

A long time in the coach

The tour lasts about seven hours and much of the time is spent in the coach, probably about four hours. The first stop at Titesee is essentially a shopping opportunity. The town is attractive, next to a lake, with many shops all selling the same...More

Well planned trip with good tour guide and driver

The Black Forest and Rhine fall tour were well organised. The lady tour guide was informative and experienced. An unusual encounter is we have a polite and friendly driver.

Total rip off

This tour, at best, is a comfy, overpriced ride to two tourist attractions- only one of them worth going to. The “tour guide” tells you nothing about what you’re passing and only spends a couple sentences on the actual destinations. If you need a nap...More
