Madeira Best of the West Day Tour
From US$28.77
The West Coast of Madeira is full of spectacular lookouts, traditional fishing villages, and natural wonders, but it can be hard to get around without your own transport. Maximize your time on this full-day tour from Funchal and take in highlights including Cabo Girão, Ribeira da Janela, Laurissilva forest, and Câmara de Lobos. Hotel pickup and drop-off is included.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your central Funchal hotel in time for a 9am departure. Traveling aboard a comfortable bus or coach, set out along the island’s south coast to the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. Take in the views from the Pico da Torre viewpoint and enjoy a glimpse of everyday life in the village, before continuing through the surrounding vineyards.
Pause to admire the spectacular views from Cabo Girão, the highest cape in Europe at an altitude of 1,900 feet (580 meters), before arriving in the lively village of Ribeira Brava. Stroll around the village and admire the beautiful church of São Bento, then head north across the dramatic Paul da Serra plateau.
Follow a scenic route around the northwest coast, driving through the Ribeira da Janela valley, then arrive in Porto Moniz in time for lunch (own expense). After tucking into some traditional Madeiran cuisine, cool off with a dip at a natural pool, before heading to Seixal, where the Véu da Noiva viewpoint offers impressive views over the surrounding cliffs and waterfalls.
Loop back towards Funchal, stopping to take photos from the mountaintop Encumeada viewpoint, then drive through the UNESCO-listed landscapes of the Laurissilva forest.
Back in Funchal, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 5pm.

I think that might be cutting it a bit fine, but it would probably be worth asking the company themselves if they can do that for you.
