If you’re looking for an amazing experience, Madeira Sea Emotions is the one and only! We hiked to the end of the Ponta de São Lourenço trail, where we were offered a boat trip around the peninsulas—it was an absolutely incredible experience! We got to see and feel the power of the ocean waves, a thrilling adrenaline rush. Additionally, the endpoint of the trip was just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot, so we didn’t have to hike back the same way. The second time, we took a whale-watching tour with them, which turned out to be one of the most memorable moments of my trip to Madeira. The crew is amazing—so friendly and professional. They go above and beyond to ensure every boat trip is an unforgettable memory. You can tell how much the staff enjoy what they do. We recently returned from a week in Madeira, and one of the highlights was our dolphin and whale watching adventure with Madeira Sea Emotions. Nicole was so helpful to help us organise a last minute excursion to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Although our first excursion didn’t yield any sightings, the team at Madeira Emotions went above and beyond to organize a second tour for us. On this trip, we were thrilled to spot striped dolphins! The experience was truly magical, and we enjoyed it so much that we ended up booking a third excursion to see even more! Special thanks to our marine biologist Joao, who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate. He is so friendly and explained so much about the sea animals during the whole tour, making the experience incredibly fun memorable for us and both our children! What an amazing experience! . Our guide was knowledgeable and his enthusiasm made the trip really special. We were lucky to see a pod of pilot whales . We then had some fun speeding around the island and had a quick stop for a dip in the sea. The water was warm and pleasant. Overall, it was a fantastic trip which I would highly recommend.

Not the best cayak experience mainly caused by the weather + costal side does not provide much interesting places to see - yet worth trying if you are seeking for some adrenaline in the wild ocean. Strong wind, waves + no people at all make it an interesting workout. Our guide was level headed, nice and even willing to retrieve our flying caps from the water without any hesitation

Rui was an excellent kayak guide and confidently default with changes in winds, tides, and current! He was knowledgeable and described the area around us. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Remember to be flexible, you are dealing with nature!

I joined a whale and dolphin watching tour from Canical, Madeira. The parking was easy and the office is right on the harbour. The staff were very helpful and informative on booking. I am disabled with limited mobility but the office was accessible. I was able to drive my electric mobility scooter down to the boat and the staff helped me on board. They then parked my buggy in the office and returned it to me, by the boat, on my return. The seating and the life jacket were comfortable and the safety instructions were clear. Within 15 minutes we came across a pod of pilot whales and it was good to watch them. The crew were very sensitive towards them and the naturalist on board was very informative and interesting. It was great to sail along the St Lawrence islands and to see them close up. Although there were no other sightings it was a lovely experience, which I recommend without hesitation.

I booked directly through their website. This saved some money. Having a marine biologist on board to explain pilot whale behavior and habitat was a great bonus. The captain was very competent and it was a completely smooth ride. Very professional outfit.

We had a wonderful trip, saw dolphins and pilot whales as well as several bird species. Our crew were very friendly and we got the chance to swim at the end of the trip. We did another trip with a different operator from Funchal and it was not as good as this one.

It was very amazing. Our guide Maria was very excited in telling us everything about the sea animals. The sea was very rough but nevertheless we saw the wales and dolphins. Beautifal animals. The way back with the speedboat against the waves was fun.

Lovely day out. Beautiful views and a chance to snorkel too. They catered for our larger group size and the guides were friendly.

Very nice guide and good explanation in several languages. The boat trip was super fun, but prepare to get wet. It’s not a guarantee though that you will see several animals durings the trip, but still exciting

Maria and Filipe make the best team! Attentive, friendly, concerned and in a great mood. Although we know that seeing wild animals in their habitat is a matter of luck, having an experienced biologist like Maria and a "captain" like Filipe helped a lot. We saw pilot whales and dolphins, right up close!!! And the dive at the end was spectacular. Congratulations.

We had a great time with Maria as guide. We did see dolphins and pilot whales (they look quite similar to dolphins) swimming together with babies. It was a very respectful boat trip (about 20 people on the boat) and we were the only one boat for a long time, then another boat (about same size) came and we left. We unfortunately did not see big whales but that’s how it is as the ocean is big …

After a really hot walk, was great o be picked up for this return trip. We were the last boat at 6pm, so gave us time for walk & a swim before the boat. The RIB was brilliant, marine biologist guide, and took us right up the coast, through the channel by the lighthouse (v exciting!) and around the 'end of Madeira' - then a great explore back along the coast. A great experience! The walk back to the car was OK - worse bit is the hill out of the resort back on to main road! Think doing a 1-way walk and returning like this gave us the full experience of that part of Madeira.
