Overview
Embark on a royal tour of Scandinavian castles, a cathedral, and the Viking Ship Museum without planning transport or an itinerary. Leave everything to you your guide, allowing you to travel in comfort across the pretty Danish countryside. Ideal for visitors interested in Danish history, this tour provides a great overview of the country’s past from the Viking era through the Renaissance.
What to Expect
Begin your tour at your hotel in central Copenhagen or the designated departure point across from City Hall. Head out of the city with your small group to visit four grand sites.

See Kronborg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that fortified the entrance to the Baltic Sea for six centuries. Learn about the castle’s royal history, and how it is tied to Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet.

Visit Frederiksborg Palace, the largest Renaissance castle in Scandinavia.

Move to Roskilde Cathedral, burial spot for numerous Danish kings and queens. Tours between November and March don’t have access to the cathedral interior; visitors will take narrated walk around the structure's exterior instead.

Head back to Copenhagen, passing Danish countryside, for a visit to the Viking Ship Museum. Learn how the Vikings built their ships and ruled the North Atlantic.

Finish the tour at your original departure point.

Great visit to two UNESCO Heritage Sites

My guide, Robert, was most hospitable and knowledgeable guiding us on the UNESCO Sites. I learnt so much from his detailed explanations about the history/kings of Denmark and the castles.

More walking than steep stairs. You are expected to walk at each stop and for one of the castles, the bus cannot go up all the way.
