This is a nice way to spend a morning in Reykjavik even though it can be freezing cold on the upper deck of the boat. When we did the boat tour in late August we managed to see a few dolphins from a close distance and a humpback whale from afar. Earlier in the summer, it is even possible to see some puffins too, but they were already gone when we were there.

The guide (I think was named Iga) was very friendly and passionate about the topic. She explained to us a lot about the whales and marine life around Iceland in general.

Seeing the dolphins and hearing our guide who was not good.... she was superlative! Íga? Or Īga has a talent to be both amusing, anecdotal, yet serious with facts. Brilliant combination!

What a brilliant tour- they went above and beyond. We saw humpback whales close up and the crew where so knowledgeable. I did find it funny to listen to a women complaining in the booking office because the sea was ‘rough’ as if the staff have control over that!! Highly recommend this tour

Calms seas, blue skies, rainbows, Dolphins, 3 Humpback Whales, great guide and free sea sickness tablets (which I didn't need). You only need two things. Your warmest clothing and a camera.

Such experience with Iga as our tour guide! The weather was not the best but despite this we are still able to go out we saw dolphins right underneath the boat and then we saw three teenage humpback whales flapping about and have a great time in the water one even breached in front of the boat unfortunately I missed this which was such a shame but apparently it was amazing! My first time seeing whales and I got three!! If you’re in Iceland I highly recommend you go to watch Wales they can pick up from your hotel or you can meet in the Reykjavík harbour easy to find, with a big sign out front. After you saw the Wales on our way back we had a lovely talk from Iga regarding fun facts about Whales and the dolphins we saw and some more fun anecdotes with a hot coffee to reheat our hands 😂 wonderful experience! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

the boat was really clean, the offer with the overall's is really nice and usefully. The crew knew a lot about whales and gave their best to not disturb the whales with the boat. We saw no whales on the tour but at least some dolphins

That was amazing adventure. I was lucky to have opportunity to be guided by IGA best joker and guider I’ve heard. We got every possibly information and had a lot of fun. On adventure I could see young whale and few dolphines. That was awesome. Weather was perfect too. But it’s nature and pretty hard to predict.

I initially purchased this tour through Reykjavik Excursions, and unfortunately due to weather conditions, the tour was cancelled.

The company had emailed me about the cancellation (but I didn't look), and walked to the tour centre to be told that it was cancelled. The very nice reception lady offered to reschedule in which the tour did go ahead!

You need to go to the reception, and confirm your attendance to receive a ticket for the boat tour.

I had Iga as a guide, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Whilst most of the people in the group didn't bother to look out for whales, Iga tried to keep the spirit alive.

Thankfully about 2.5 hours in, we finally saw a whale!! Although it was a small amount of time, but I didn't care about being in the wind and rain for those hours, as it was so worth seeing it.

Somehow, only 1 passenger managed to take the photo of the whale, and Iga informed everyone that it'll be uploaded on the blog post at latest next day evening (which it was).

As some people missed the whale, Iga informed us that those can come back another time and rebook for up to 2 years- which to me is great service.

I will definitely be booking directly with Special tours next time in Iceland
