Southern Iceland Glaciers, Waterfalls and Beaches Day Tour
From US$99.90
Overview
Most visitors to Iceland concentrate on the Golden Circle, often missing out on the impressive south coast. This full-day tour from Reykjavik is a fuss-free way around the south coast’s attractions, and a convenient alternative to exploring independently. You visit must-sees such as Reynisfja beach and the Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Plus, enjoy background on the sights from a guide, and air-conditioned hotel and port transfers in Reykjavik.
What to Expect
After hotel or cruise port pickup in Reykjavik, settle aboard an air-conditioned bus and travel to Iceland’s south coast, famous for its natural beauty.

Head for the small village of Vik, known for its stellar sea views, and walk on the black sands of Reynisfjara beach, admiring its basalt-column cliffs.

Next, continue to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Take in the beauty of the fall and walk behind the cascade to Skogafoss, whose waters plunge down a 197-foot (60-meter) drop. Make the most of the many photo ops as the falls and scenery promise some stunning shots.

Finally, take a short walk to the glacier edge of Solheimajokull, a sublet glacier of Myrdalsjokull. The glaciers are constantly moving, and make some of Iceland’s most incredible sights.

Marvel at the sizes of the glaciers before your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or another, central location in Reykjavik.

Surprising variety of spectacular sights

The stop labelled the Black Beach does not convey the truly spectacular sights at this one location. The beach is black (as are all Iceland beaches) due to the volcanic nature of the land. However, the "rock" formations extending down to the beach are reminiscent...More

Amazing experience

Gerda, our guide, was charming. She offered lots of information from geology to ponies, even sharing family stores in a sincere way. I do few of these types of tours as sometimes the co-passengers are obnoxious or the guides are cheesy, but this was a...More

The tour was scheduled very nicely, no unnecessary long stops, the bus was also quite comfortable. The driver was a very nice Icelandic lady, fluent in French as well as English and seemed to know everything related to Iceland, she told us a lot of...More

Hi That won”t work. The trip gets back between about 6&7 and takes a while dropping everyone off at hotels. The airport is not on. the route. Probably only a blue lagoon trip works well for the airport. Or you might find a... More
