Golden Circle, Kerid Volcanic Crater, and Blue Lagoon Day Trip from Reykjavik
From US$155.00
This day trip to the Golden Circle from Reykjavik is a stress-free way to see some of Iceland’s most beautiful attractions. Don’t worry about mapping out an itinerary: Let your guide and driver take you to Kerid crater, the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss waterfall, and more. Plus, your guide explains local history and geology that you wouldn’t learn traveling on your own.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with pickup from your hotel or accommodation in the Reykjavik area. Meet your guide and small group and hop on your climate-controlled vehicle.

Set out toward the Golden Circle, hearing about Icelandic history, geology, and culture from your guide en route.

Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.

Hop back on the bus for the journey to the lake-filled, 3,000-year-old Kerid crater. Stop to marvel at its magical-looking lake and colorful slopes.

Next, visit the surreal Geysir geothermal area on foot, stopping at bubbling ponds, steam vents, and Geysir and Strokkur geysers. The next destinations are Gullfoss waterfall and the iconic Blue Lagoon. Choose to head inside the lagoon spa (own expense) if you’ve pre-booked admission. Enjoy a soak in the steamy waters while admiring surrounding lava fields.

After roughly two hours at the lagoon, relax during the journey back to Reykjavik, and finish with a drop-off at your hotel.

Great Tour, Great Guide

My wife and I took this tour and loved it! Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, great sense of humor. In driving a mini bus he got the passengers closer to many of the sights that the big tour busses couldn't go. His timing allowed...More

Excellent tour of the golden circle

Such a beautiful introduction to Iceland, travelling round the golden circle, visiting a crater, and after a long day of getting those steps in, relaxing in the blue lagoon pool. I would have liked to spend a little longer in the national park on the...More

Long Day with Beautiful Sights

Great tour with a smaller group. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and brought us to a couple of spots that weren't on the itinerary since we were ahead of schedule. Recommend good hiking boots or sneakers since there are some steep climbs and the...More

Worth it!

Not generally the group tour type (read never) but had a day before my car rental kicked in and gave this a try. Couldn't have been happier. We had a small group - 7/8 of us; great transport; and an amazing guide in Thor. He...More
