Overview
This day trip to the Golden Circle from Reykjavik is a stress-free way to see some of Iceland’s most beautiful attractions. Don’t worry about mapping out an itinerary: Let your guide and driver take you to Kerid crater, the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss waterfall, and more. Plus, your guide explains local history and geology that you wouldn’t learn traveling on your own.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with pickup from your hotel or accommodation in the Reykjavik area. Meet your guide and small group and hop on your climate-controlled vehicle.
Set out toward the Golden Circle, hearing about Icelandic history, geology, and culture from your guide en route.
Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.
Hop back on the bus for the journey to the lake-filled, 3,000-year-old Kerid crater. Stop to marvel at its magical-looking lake and colorful slopes.
Next, visit the surreal Geysir geothermal area on foot, stopping at bubbling ponds, steam vents, and Geysir and Strokkur geysers. The next destinations are Gullfoss waterfall and the iconic Blue Lagoon. Choose to head inside the lagoon spa (own expense) if you’ve pre-booked admission. Enjoy a soak in the steamy waters while admiring surrounding lava fields.
After roughly two hours at the lagoon, relax during the journey back to Reykjavik, and finish with a drop-off at your hotel.

Well worth the money. Waterfalls, volcanos, and ending at the Blue Lagoon. We were exhausted at the end of the day - but were so happy.

We really were looking forward to this tour. The sites were absolutely amazing. The problems were with the company. First, we were picked up over an hour late. This was after phone calls and emails. We were picked up by a separate vehicle and met...More

A great experience! Everything was perfect from beginning to end. The people working there are really nice and welcoming. We decided to eat at the restaurant, and the food was also amazing.

Most of it would be fine. The crater, geyser and blue lagoon for example are all a very short walk from the bus. The only bit that probably isn’t is the waterfall walk because it’s down a lot of steps and if it’s bad weather... More
