We are a mixed group all over sixty with little to no experience of these activities. The instructors were very sensitive to our needs which made the experience very positive for all abilities and great fun. A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We would highly recommend it. Burton Weekend Crew

      Thrilling
White water rafting a class experience. Loads of fun with a group of 8 guys, felt safe but also thrilling with a hint of danger! The instructors, Kieran and Tom, were loads of fun and clearly made an effort to make it as exciting as they could. Would definitely do it again! Thanks guys

Axe Throwing, Archery and Air Rifle Experience
The archery, air rifle and axe throwing were a good laugh and lots of fun. We had the whole top floor to ourselves - just hubby and me to celebrate our anniversary (we aren't a romantic dinner kind of couple!). Moz is a right character and made the experience even better. Thank you... it was the perfect surprise for my man!

Target Sports - 90 minute combo - Brilliant!
We attended last week and did the combo session featuring Axe Throwing, Archery and Rifles. You have 30 minutes to try each of the sports which is a good amount of time. Our instructors name I think was Mat. He was very good and kindly took photos of us too! The weather was terrible that day but as they are all indoor sports it didn't matter! Would highly recommend this experience and would definitely visit again to gain more experience of each sport!

      Great fun white water rafting
This was our second time white water rafting with TNR and we had a great time. Tom, Ben and Nathan looked after us really well, and the whole group (parents, plus 4 13-16 year olds) had a great time. The activity was strenuous but not too hard, plenty of cold water and exhilaration but no unscheduled dips! The set up is really good, they take good care of you (lots of photos taken and provided afterwards, for free, which is a good sign of generous hosts), and they want you to have fun. Definitely recommended.

      Great setup
Arrived with friends for a 90 minute session of axe throwing, archery and shooting. Weather was terrible when we arrived, the car park full of puddles to get through, but the activities are indoors so not a problem. Waited for the session to start, there were three of us, and we were waiting for another party of three to join us. There's a seating area to hang about in, with a big screen near the entrance that was showing Indy car racing. Adam, our instructor, took us up to the ranges. First was axe throwing. Adam showed us the basic technique then let us go. There are four 'lanes' with two targets in each, which meant that me and my two friends could throw next to each other and the family who joined us could stay together too. Every 5 mins or so, Adam would show us another throwing technique to try until the time was up. Next was archery. There are four stations with one large screen that targets are projected onto. There's a traditional archery target, balloons, minions and zombies to shoot at. This time, we had to take turns with the other group, three on, three off. Shooting was last, air rifles with pellets. After a quick safety and instruction briefing, we spent the whole half hour shooting a variety of metal targets dotted around the room. There were about 8 gun stations, so we all did this at the same time. For the last 5 mins, Adam put a paper target out that you can take home. We paid £25 each for a 90 minute session and really enjoyed it. Would go again.

      Delightful and entertaining
We booked the axe throwing, archery and air rifle shooting. All of which we have done elsewhere, but the setup at TNR was much better. Nathan the staff member looking after us was a likeable fellow who kept us all safe. We will book again.

      Fun on the river
Fun time playing in the river near the centre. We didn’t travel far but learnt the basics of rafting down the beautiful river. Nathan, our guide was great.

      Great Experience for anyone!
I booked the 90 min mixed target sports session as a birthday treat for my 11 year old son. Our instructor Nathan was extremely helpful and encouraging and we thoroughly enjoyed all 3 different types. It was great to find a session that could accommodate a child of my sons age. The equipment was great and Nathan ran through all the safety aspects before each sport. We were there with 4 other people we didn't know of mixed ability and it was all very friendly and fun. We would definitely book again and would recommend anyone to give it a whirl!!

We had an amazing experience with Alex from TNR going over the aqueduct! Having not gone canoeing before, he did a good job of showing us the ropes and helping us navigate the plethora of other water-users enjoying the sun shine.

Canoeing over a valley in this way was such a unique experience, while the views were breathtaking! The stretch of canal we travelled up afterwards was peaceful and tranquil. We even managed to get a lot more travel along that stretch for our buck, given our guide was able to use the smaller group size than other tour providers to effectively tell us about the area as we paddled rather than seemingly stop the tour for talks.

All-in-all a unique experience that anyone in the area should consider, and we will certainly be looking up TNR's other experiences if we find ourselves in the area again!

Booked fairly last minute and had shopped around for a good price to do this activity as other companies were charging a lot more than TNR outdoors so the price attracted me initially and some of the reviews I had read up definitely didn’t do this company the recognition they deserve!
Great experience overall and our instructor Matt was very experienced, friendly and fun!
Family of 11 going out for a birthday trip never to forget!
Great views, easy instructions for first timers and all in all a fantastic experience, would highly recommend.

Really fantastic experience - I couldn't recommend canoeing over the aqueduct enough! The views were incredible and it was an easy ride, even for beginners. You can also take dogs , which is a plus!
Only reason I have rated a 4 rather than a 5 is because the title/description is quite misleading. This is not a guided tour or a supervised session. You are met by someone from TNR who gives you a canoe and paddle, you get a safety briefing as well as tips on canal etiquette. You are then left to your own devices for 2 hours and do not see the guide again (including when you bring your canoes back, which was a bit odd to be honest).
As it was, we were okay with this and still had a great time. I guess this explains why this option is cheaper than other companies. We passed these companies on our trip and they were all supervised throughout their sessions. It is definitely worth knowing before you book though, as the description here and on the website is not accurate.

Instructors were great - couldn’t fault them, but the experience was a bit disappointing. We paid £40 each for a canoe tour 10.30-12.30. We set off 20 mins late, canoed literally about 10/15 mins tops over the aqueduct, stopped at an average cafe for over an half an hour, and canoed the 10/15 mins back arriving early. Expected to actually be canoeing for a lot longer and see more than that - £80 did feel a rip off for what we got.

Great canoe trip along the canal and across the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct - highly recommended. Kids (6 and 9 yrs) were both able to participate, and smallest was very pleased with herself for paddling the heaviest canoe (with Dad in it). Tom is an excellent guide, great with the kids, and is one of those wonderful people who clearly love their job. Awesome views from the aquaduct, and good tips about where to get prime photos and ice creams.

The tour itself was fun and interesting and our guides were great, but the canal was a mess first thing in the morning and there were frequent stops on the short trip where we just sat. For a while. It wasn’t the tour operator’s fault, but it seemed like a lot of money to pay to sit in a canoe not moving. They might consider rescheduling the morning tour to a bit later when there are fewer long boats passing each other on the aqueduct in very limited space.

What a fantastic experience. I was very nervous about the whole thing but had absolutely no reason to be. In our group there was myself, my 9 year old daughter, 16 year old son and his 16 year old girlfriend. Our guide (sorry I cant spell your name ) was amazing she talked us through everything and was very patient when we were struggling to go in the right direction. The canal was very busy but whilst waiting to cross safely we were given some background about the canal, aqueduct and area. the 2 hours seemed to fly by and we managed to get across and along the canal before turning around and coming back.
For anyone who is looking but unsure, go for it. It is really good fun for all ages, shapes, fitness levels and experience.

Fantastic experience, weather was perfect and a nice group size, Nathan (group lead) with 4 other canoes plus ourselves. We went at a nice leisurely pace so everyone could enjoy the scenery. Nathan was super friendly and made everyone feel relaxed. He took loads of photos and shared them with everyone, if you get Nathan as a guide he's 100%. Will definitely be booking the white water rafting come the autumn/winter.

What a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours. Regardless of age, ability or experience this is 'must do'
Tom our guide made us feel very safe and secure as this was our first time in a Canoe. He gave plenty of information on the area, it's history, the canals and Aqua duct as we paddled along. There were plenty of photo opportunities and Tom took plenty also to share after the experience.
Going in a winter month, as we did, meant the water ways were less busy or crowded.
    A definite 'must do'.
