This tour started with the most magical sunrise from a viewing platform! The sun rose to the left of Uluru and then shone against Kata Tjuta. It was amazing. We all managed a quick coffee and enjoyed this wonderful experience. From there we heading towards Kata Tjuta for our Valley of the Winds hike. The guides were wonderful - keeping a good pace whilst allowing the slower ones time to catch up. There were stops along the way where the guides would provide interesting commentary and we could get a breather. We got to the first lookout pretty easily, but the second lookout was a little more challenging to reach. However when we arrived it was UNBELIEVABLE! So beautiful! It was a 37° day so even though we started the walk around 9am, it was very hot by the time we finished at around 12 noon. The terrain is rocky and uneven in places so I was glad we purchased trail shoes before we came here. There was one section were you have to scale a rocky mound, however if a 56 year old can do it, so can you!. Apart from the heat on our return leg, this was a fantastic guided walk and I am so proud of myself for completing it as I’m not as fit as I was 5 years ago. Overall a very smooth half day tour - well run and thoroughly enjoyable.

We were a bit apprehensive when we booked with AAT Kings given the potential size of the group. Surprisingly everything went off without a hitch, and we are still awe struck of our tour at Kata Tjuta, and the valley of the winds. We definitely recommend that you pursue through to the 2nd lookout because the view at that site is absolutely stunning. Be advised that you have to be reasonably fit and able bodied as there are up-and-down paths. However, on the vertigo side, myself being highly susceptible, I would say no worries. The pathways are mostly large and with no sudden declines.

Wow! Wow! Wow! A highlight of our stay at Ayers Rock Resort. This was such a beautiful hike. AAT tour guides Tanya and Jacob were fabulous with their knowledge, friendly manner, resilience and thinking on their feet to make the most of a blimp in the day when our bus broke down. AAT were very prompt in responding with follow-up bus and passengers missed little of their tour and time was made up. These things happen, it's how it is responded to that makes a difference. These guys came up trumps.
But back to the sunrise and hike!!! Truly a wonderful experience

Wow wow wow, what an amazing experience. Didn’t know what to expect but the tour was truly magical. Tables filled with appetisers and a great selection of wine, beer and soft drinks overlooking the most amazing scenery. Garry out tour guide really made the experience first class from his attention to detail to his wealth of information. You really felt welcomed and looked after. I will be recommending this tour and will be back to do the sunrise tour. The tour itself is amazing but the tour guide Garry made it truly memorable

I did the tour in early February, meaning the temperatures are high. However, it meant a small group of four plus the three guides (one in training). This meant we could move at a quicker pace and had more time to chat with the guides and hear their stories.

The tour has a couple of options. After getting to the first lookout, you can continue on to the second lookout which is a little harder or walk to Walpa Gorge which is about the same level of difficulty as the first leg. I chose to do the more difficult one. I am pretty fit, and it was difficult at times between the upward climb and heat, but the views were amazing.

I found this tour and views to be as good and even better than Uluru. My only “complaint” would be that a slower pace would allow more time to stop and take pictures along the way. However, that also means being in the heat longer, and I was still able to get a ton of great photos.

The personal and experience of Dax our driver/guide. I couldn't do the Winds of the Valley walk with the rest of the group because of my leg, Sunrise Kata Tjutaso our driver Dax, walked me to the Walpa Gorge. He was extremely knowledgeable of the area, he was courteous, helpful and mindful of my injury, looking out for me, making sure I did not fall or stumble. We did this tour with AATKings.

My wife and I did this tour on our second day at Ayers Rock.
Fantastic morning with the AATKings Team of Aaron, Paul and David. These guys were not only very professional but also so much fun to “hang with” that morning.
Their knowledge of the area and it’s history was extremely helpful. Never a dull moment. So much fun. They made the experience so enjoyable.
If you do this tour, I hope you can get them.
Thanks again Aaron, Paul and David!
Cheers,
Don and Linda

Valley of the Winds is the best walk at Kata Tjuta and Uluru. AAT Kings have great knowledgeable guides and the ice cold towel to wipe yourself with after a hike in very hot temperatures is just what you need. And the brekky bag for sunrise trip gives you some snacks. Take plenty of water, the hot dry winds will dry you out just as much as the high temperatures in Summer. This walk is a must do! Guides were friendly and knowledgeable.

Our tour on 18/11 was an amazing experience. The tour began with amazing view of sunrise of Kata Tjuta and Uluru. The viewing platform is a bit crowded with people so you gotta get there early if you want the best position for photos.

The hike at valley of the winds was not demanding. You can choose short or long route depending on your fitness. We enjoyed the hike very much. Just that you must bring your sunscreen, sunglasses, hat with strap and plenty of water. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate. We had a great time! If you want to visit Kata Tjuta, this is the tour you cannot miss.
