Tour was easy to book, communication was adequate to relay information. Picked up on time and tour was great from there. Excellent information given regarding the Cairns and Tablelands area. Successfully located a number of animals and Paul the guide again was very informative. Pub dinner was excellent and the pub itself has history. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great natIve wildlife viewing
Feb 2021
I try to go on this tour every time I go to Cairns, and I send all my visiting biologist buddies on it too. It’s great - always see amazing native animals.
This time we were on a mission to get me to finally see a tree kangaroo. Once again, I got skunked — but we saw plenty of species of possums, some lizards, birds, a platypus; and got heaps of info on the region.
I highly recommend!

A great and unique experience
Dec 2020 • Couples
This trip is a must! It has been my favourite part of our holiday in Cairns so far. We saw, heard, experienced (and even tasted!) so much wildlife, much of which is right under your nose and you would never see it without this excellent guide! Anything we picked up, pointed out or heard in the distance, our guide could tell us exactly what it was and we learned so much. Our group was a mix of people from different backgrounds and a wide age gap, yet the atmosphere created by our guide was so relaxed and our group was instantly chatting and getting to know each other from the start. It was such a unique experience so spot wildlife at night. We saw many Boyd forrest dragons, tasted fruit (quandong), watched a brush turkey building it's nest, saw a platypus swimming and diving in the water and climbing up on the bank to scratch, saw glowing fungus in the dark, amazing trees like the curtain figs, and spotted a few rat kangaroos, chowchilla birds, a green tree frog, big huntsman spiders, bats, green ringtail possums, coppery and common brush tail possums, and an atherton jungle python. Overall it is a unique experience which feels like you are being brought around by a friend who knows all the secrets! The bonus is that there is no artificial element to this trip in that none of the wildlife are disturbed, fed or coaxed in any way. You just have the privilege of observing them while they do what they do! Thank you Paul for a great experience.

Unique experience
Nov 2020
came across this tour when searching for things to do in Cairns. Paul picked us up & 1 other person for our tour. We went to many different areas of the Atherton Tablelands for sightseeing of magnificent rainforests & lots of special animals & reptiles. We saw tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, musky rat kangaroos, boyds forest dragons, leaf tailed ghettos, bats & wallabies. Paul was excellent at spotting these unique animals & reptiles in their natural environment . Had a delicious dinner at a local pub also. Overall a fantastic day & night out (1:30 pm to 9:30pm) Great value for money and a very different way to see native wildlife

Great wild-life viewing by day and night
Sep 2020
Unique experience being involved in rescuing a tree kangaroo fro the roadside, then viewing more of them in the trees. Night-time platypus-spotting, followed by other nocturnal animals in the trees.
Lunchtime pickup and evening drop-off in Cairns by friendly, very knowledgeable guide who drove us up to the Tablelands for the tour - beautiful scenery and fascinating wildlife. Well worth the drive to see things that most Australians have not seen.

Amazing wildlife experience!
Aug 2020
Amazing tour with Paul! We decided to do this tour for something different and to support a fellow local small business and we ended up having the best day our. Paul was really friendly, funny and knowledgeable and taught us heaps about our own region. He was very conscious of safety throughout, ensuring we remained away from traffic and wore safety reflectors for the night time viewing so we could easily be seen. Supplied us great equipment for the day including binoculars and taught us how to use them effectively for the best viewing. Saw SO much wildlife! He really knew the spots to take us and how to view them. We saw so many birds on our rain forest walks and he was able to identify them and provide lots of information. He even carried a tablet to show us photos of them if we hadn't got a great view so we knew what we'd heard/caught a glimpse of. We also got to see wild tree kangaroos! Never thought it would be possible to spot one of these, but there they were! Also got some really great platypus viewing and got to see all sorts of creatures on the night time viewing such as possums, bandicoots, pademelons and bats. Didn't even know we have a green ringtail possum, but he was able to find one for us. Highly recommend this tour for lovers of wildlife, you wont be disappointed!

Brilliant and fascinating insight to the rainforest
Aug 2020
We are just back from our Atherton Tablelands Rain Forest by night tour with Paul. It was amazing. We are a family of five with three girls aged 11,9 and 7 and we all loved it. Paul knew so much about the forest and animals and answered every question they had. The trip was split up brilliantly so that the travel was short and we saw so many different things. We were lucky enough to see the platypus, snakes, possums, tree kangaroos, musky rat kangaroos, pademelon and the cathedral and curtain figs.

We would thoroughly recommend everyone goes on this tour. We loved it. Thank you Paul.

Everyone should do this!
This was one of the best tours we have had in our time in Australia. Paul was like an encyclopedia, he knew about everything and made us feel very safe during the tour. He shares his passion for nature and made us very enthusiastic about it as well. He was also very nice to talk to which is very important in such a tour.

We think everyone should do something like this since it’s a completely different experience than during daytime. You see animals that even most Australians have never seen before or heard about.

During our trip, we saw 2 platypus, 2 tree kangaroos, many bandicoots (one was a baby), miniature bats, possums, lizards, spiders and more! We even spent some time looking at the stars, and we saw the Milky Way.

Thank you Paul!
