Bonorong Wildlife Park and Richmond Afternoon Tour from Hobart
From US$76.08
Overview
Visit two area highlights—Bonorong Wildlife Park and the town of Richmond—on this half-day tour from Hobart, which includes all transportation. Make the most of your time in Hobart by combining local history and wildlife, with views of Tasmanian devils at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and lessons on Tasmania's convict history in Richmond.
What to Expect

Your tour starts with pickup from your central Hobart hotel. On the way out of Hobart, your guide navigates you past sights such as Derwent Entertainment Centre, the ABC Building, and Constitution Dock.

Arrive at the Bonorong Wildlife Park, which provides photo-worthy views over Brighton Valley, and embark on a guided tour through the park's habitats. Learn about the native animals such as Tasmanian devils, cockatoos, echidnas, and kangaroos that make their home in the park.

On the drive to Richmond, listen to background information on the town meant to enrich your understanding of the area. The historic town features Georgian-era architecture, one of Australia's oldest bridges, and Richmond Gaol. Learn about the history of convicts in Australia and the town's role in that history.

The tour ends at Brooke Street Pier, from which you make your own way to your next destination or hotel.

Had a great time!

Went to Hobart for a conference and this was the perfect activity for the day before. The tour guide was hilarious, and Richmond and Bonorong were lovely. Highly recommend this.

Excellent Wildlife Sanctuary

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is more than a Park. They provide shelter, medical care and recovery time for injured animals. You can walk among the kangaroos, picture them, feed and scratch their necks (they like that). Have your picture taken with a baby wombat and even...More

Good park to visit

The park is well laid out with plenty to see even if a number of creatures prefer to be active at night like the wombats. Get up close to kangaroos and emu’s. Staff helpful and informative.

My friend won’t post the picture of Mariah the wombat because she is waaaay too cute; you’ll have to see her for yourself. I can say without a doubt that the musk ice cream at Richmond was to die for. Our guide was really nice...More
