Overview
See Phillip Island’s famous penguins as well as koalas, Tasmanian devils, and kangaroos on an afternoon trip from Melbourne that includes Maru Koala and Animal Park. Traveling in a climate-controlled bus, enjoy customizable tour options that let you watch the evening Penguin Parade from different vantage points as the world’s smallest penguins return to their island burrows after a day of fishing.
What to Expect

Board a climate-controlled bus at your Melbourne hotel for the trip to Maru Koala and Animal Park, passing Westernport Bay along the way. At the award-winning animal park, see koalas and kangaroos along with a range of other native animals. See Tasmanian devils, wombats, venomous snakes, and dingoes—some of the country’s most fascinating creatures—up close.

From Maru Koala and Animal Park, continue to Philip Island, home to sea birds, fur seals, and the world’s smallest species of penguin. Explore the Nobbies rock formations to look for seals and birds. Then, as sunset approaches, wait for the native penguins in the viewing station that you’ve selected when booking. Suddenly you’ll start to see the tiny penguins emerge from the water, waddling along the beach as they make their way to snug island burrows.

Following the Penguin Parade, your tour concludes with return transportation to your Melbourne hotel.

Nothing like what you see on the picture

It is a tourist trap. Nothing like what you see on the picture. You see penguins from very far, like over at least 50 yards. They are so small (around 12 inches) that when they come out of water you can barely see them, especially...More

The Penguin Parade is AWESOME!

This is a great tour! The ride out from Melbourne was comfortable, and we stopped along the way to feed the 'roos and other animals at the wildlife sanctuary. Also...the koalas there were the easiest ones to get close to, and they were even awake!...More

Phillip Island tour from Melbourne

Had a totally delightful day with Bear as our guide. He did an outstanding job of making us feel part of a community traveling together for the day. Had fun seeing all the sights with extra things I did not even expect. Thank you, Bear
