Your tour begins with pickup from your central Melbourne hotel. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned bus, leave the city behind and set out along the south coast of Australia to drive the famous Great Ocean Road.
Pass by Bells Beach, host of the annual Rip Curl Pro (a World Surf League surfing competition), and enjoy dazzling ocean views as you follow the winding coastal road. Make a stop in Apollo Bay, one of the most photographed bays along the route, and enjoy some free time to breathe in the sea air and purchase lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue to another must-see landmark, the Twelve Apostles, the dozen rock pillars that stand just offshore. As you walk along the sea cliffs, you have an incredible view over the rocks, but you can also climb down to the beach for a closer look.
Back on the bus, listen to your guide’s live commentary as you approach Shipwreck Coast and learn how this notorious stretch earned its ominous name. One of the highlights here is Loch Ard Gorge, named after the 19th-century British ship Loch Ard that was wrecked along the coast, leaving only two survivors.
The final stop of the day is in Port Campbell, a picturesque seaside resort where you have some free time to browse the shops for souvenirs or enjoy a coffee by the seafront.
On return to Melbourne, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
